    From what I read online, I thought I'd give the benefit of the doubt since we already own some nice KitchenAid products. I was disappointed in this toaster since it toasted unevenly -- dark on one side light on the other and not when the bagel setting was used. It would also cook lines into the toast -- again, not evenly. Besides that, it felt cheap and "rattly". When I pushed the lever down to start toasting, it was really springy at the bottom and I'd expect it to catch but found myself pushing down several times trying to get it to stay down without pushing so hard I'd break it. I believe for the price, the quality of this toaster is totally unacceptable -- even if it does look nice.

    I had high hopes for this toaster as I love my kitchenaid mixer. It’s just ok, not as sturdy as one would think and the toasting is uneven.

    If the toast is not browned sufficiently, don't try re-toasting for a short time. Can't be done. Once the lowering level is pressed down it cannot be released until it runs its cycle resulting in burned toast. The only way to release it is to unplug the toaster.
