Customers are saying
Customers appreciate the 5 Cup Cordless Rechargeable Chopper's ease of use, cordless design, and long battery life. Many also highlight its compact size and surprisingly powerful motor for its size, along with its generally high-quality construction. However, some users note inconsistencies in the chopping action and find the lid design somewhat challenging. Overall, the positive feedback on convenience and performance outweighs the concerns about chopping consistency and lid usability.

Excellent cordless chopper, very convenient!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.KitchenAid Cordless 5 cup chopper This is my second mini food processor. I’ve used my mini Cuisinart food processor for years and decided to try the KitchenAid 5 cup chopper. I’ve used the KitchenAid for garlic and onions with perfect results, with consistently sized pieces. (My previous mini chopper resulted in large pieces of food in addition to very small pieces.) Ground beef and chicken was effortless. The KitchenAid chopper is very easy to use, I didn’t even have to read the instruction manual. I appreciate the thumb-activated Pulse/On button on the handle. The unit is easy to assemble and disassemble. I really like the cordless feature, as it allows me to use the chopper anywhere on my counter. I also love the spout feature for easy pouring of liquids. One full 2 hour charge provides more than enough power to chop multiple items. The unit holds the charge very well, I’m able to use the chopper without charging again two weeks after the last charge. KitchenAid advertises this chopper’s capacity as 5 cups. I measured the maximum volume to be slightly less than 4.5 cups with the blade attached. I would not recommend more than 4 cups as the contents will leak out when the blades are in operation. This is not a deal breaker for me, as I don’t usually need to chop such a large amount. Overall, this KitchenAid chopper does an excellent job.

Good Chopper...First Cordless Appliance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This kitchen aid chopper is the very first cordless kitchen appliance I have ever owned. At first I wondered if that would be a plus or a minus. The fact that it is cordless is a plus! Being cordless it means you are not limited as to where in your kitchen you can use the appliance and I have found, in the short time I have owned it, that this is very helpful. Two hours gives you a full charge. I am still working off my first full charge and I have used it 3 or 4 times already. We have chopped onions and used it on garlic and tomatoes and nuts and every time it has performed very well. The lid is a little difficult to deal with at first. It is a twist lid and then it releases. The unit has rubber feet to keep it in place. There is a charging light to evaluate where you are in the charging process. The size of this unit at 38 oz is good for our needs. It has 2 speeds and again the 2 speeds worked well to do the tasks I have done to date. The safety of pressing the handle to operate is very good and shows that Kitchen Aid was thinking safety in the design of this unit. This is not an item we will use every day, but i am glad to have it and I think that based on my early use it will serve us well.

Exactly what you'd expect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unusual to have a battery-powered chopper; I'm sure for most people it makes no difference since you'll be using it in the kitchen. But it chops perfectly well and has a larger-than-normal capacity! So I like it. Little bit confusing on how to make sure all parts are closed and sealed correctly before it will chop.

Cordless chopper
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.KitchenAid - 38-Oz. Chopper - Black Matte Included- Charger adapter, manual, base, bowl/lid, blade and whisking accessory and drive adapter. Kitchenaid has rolled out it's first new suite of small cordless kitchen appliances. There is a hand blender, hand mixer and I have the food chopper. I had gotten rid of my food processor a while back since it seemed to burn out so I thought this would be a good replacement, being cordless and compact. The chopper has a 5 cup capacity and will chop, mix or puree. Power- A full charge will take about 2 hours. There is a battery indicator light which is helpful, and will turn green when fully charged. It recommends to charge it when the light turns yellow to maintain the best battery maintenance. Usage- The one thing I had trouble with was figuring out how to unlock the lid. The directions say to untwist or twist to open or close and it wasn't budging. After struggling for a few minutes, I had to have my husband do it. What I didn't realize is that it actually "slides" open or closed. The black bar on the side of the lid, over the handle just needs to be pushed towards you and it will unlock so you can open it. To use, just lock the bowl into place, add your blade or whisk attachment, throw in your food to be chopped and lock the lid on. There are 2 power settings, basically a high and low, and it turns on and off by pressing down on the top of the lid/handle, which powers it. It chopped up my onions great and then when I put the jalapeño in, it wasn't quite enough for the blade to grab all of it, so I had to throw some onion back in to chop it more thoroughly. I like the power being located on the handle, because it gives you a lot of control to pulse and chop to your desired fineness. Besides just onions, the chopper would be able to work on other veggies, nuts, crackers and bread. It can even make dressings because there is a drizzle basin in the lid. Cleaning- It's easy and low maintenance. The base needs to be just wiped down with a damp cloth. The bowl, lid, blade, whisking accessory and drive are all dishwasher safe (top rack only) to make clean up a breeze. Besides the minor lid confusion I had, this is a great little chopper if you don't want to hand chop everything. It will certainly be a time saver. It's conveniently cordless and compact.
