We had looked at dual-fuel ranges last year, but didn't pull the trigger for various reasons. I'm glad we waited, because when we were recently forced to buy a new range (a burner on the old one was leaking natural gas), we found this one, which just looks better than the older model (I didn't like the tilted knobs on the older model).
So, a few things which are amazingly hard to glean from the specs on the website (BB or KitchenAid).
1. Yes, the stovetop has gas burners and the double-ovens are electric. Only the lower oven is a convection oven.
2. The electrical hookup requires a 240v outlet. I had guessed this, but couldn't be sure, so we had the new range sitting in the living room for a week before I could get an electrician out to put in a new 240 outlet (our old oven was all gas).
3. At least for us, it DID come with the 240v cord already connected. Yay!
4. We tried to use the stovetop gas burners without hooking up the electricity, but THIS UNIT WILL NOT ALLOW GAS TO FLOW TO THE BURNERS IF THERE IS NO ELECTRICAL CONNECTION. Apparently there is a second solenoid/valve AFTER the regulator that will not open without an electrical connection. Fired right up after plugging it in. Yay again!
5. It comes with a non-stick griddle for use on the stovetop. Yay!
6. It comes with a water tray for a "steam" mode, but the steam mode is only for the lower oven.
Now for a few general things....
When you look at the stovetop, it looks like the burners are too far under the cast iron grate, but I have not found any problems getting pots and pans up to heat.
It is sort of a pain to clean the stove top if you spill, but only because you have to remove the entire grate, and that's easy peazey.
The oven heating seems pretty even and I love the way the display shows the temperature rising up to the preheat level. The display uses blue and red colors, btw. Very cool looking!
I do NOT like that timer only beeps ONCE when time is up. I want at least 5 or 6 beeps.
Last thing, the upper oven is perfect for pizza. My homemade method requires a preheat to 500 degrees (handmade dough), however, and the top oven seemed like it topped out at 485. No biggie, but be aware. Haven't tried the limits of the lower oven.
Overall, though, we really love this oven/range. There aren't too many dual fuel ranges, and this one looks and performs nicely!
Four stars!
BTW, for me, five stars means perfect, and I've yet to find a perfect product.

I’ve had it a month and so far I like it. I would give it a 5 if it had a proofing option and a round burner instead of an oval but since they don’t make one. I like the steam pan for baking bread (wish it was a little bigger) and the height of the grill over the burner for canning. Heats the water really fast. Takes a while for the oven to get to temperature. I was disappointed when I called customer service and got Whirlpool. I just gave away a $1600 whirlpool gas range I bought 14 months ago. It was the worse kitchen stove I’ve owned. I haven’t been happy the the Whirlpool appliances. The Whirlpool dishwasher I bought a several years ago was terrible and I had to replace it.

See below for low rating...
We bought this about 2 years ago, and have been generally happy with it. Would have gotten 4 stars. Some things that are rather annoying, keeping it from a 5 (prior), are:
1. There is only one timer, and that timer is not easy to set. For this price, there should be 2; one for each oven, with different tones.
2. There is no "cancel" button, meaning if you happen to hit any wrong button, or any button in the wrong order, you have to stop the current oven or settings and start over. This is EXTREMELY annoying.
***Reason for 1 star relates to the cracking an peeling enamel inside the oven that just started. Search online, and you will find this is a common problem that KithenAid will not help with (says it is cosmetic, so not warrantied, even with extended plan). I do not want anyone to suddenly bite down on a 2" long piece of enamel that falls into what I am cooking. From other's experience, this is caused by self-cleaning, and only gets worse.
So the one-star is due to the chipping enamel and the HORRIBLE customer service. If you go to their website, there is no place to actually talk to anyone. They want you to set up an appointment for an inspection, at YOUR cost before they will even acknowledge you as a person. I currently own, and have owned, several KitchenAid appliances, both large and small. Now that I have experienced the VOID that is KitchenAid customer support, I am now DONE. Never again.
There are very few companies that actually stand by their products. KitchenAid is NOT one of them.

So far I love my stove. One thing I noticed is the top oven cooks hotter than the convection oven. I had two pans of cookies in, one on top and the other in the convection. They were both cooked on the same kind of pan and at the same temp and for the same length of time. The cookies in the smaller top oven were more brown on the bottom then I would have liked. The cookies baked in the convection oven were perfect. My personal opinion is that the smaller oven bakes hotter because of it's small size. I will need to adjust my cooking time accordingly to see if this helps. I also wish the stove was designed so that it could sit flatter against the wall. The closest they could get it to the wall still leaves it sticking out 1-1/2 inches beyond the cupboard. That is after my private installer came back and had to redesign how it was installed initially. An 1-1/2 may not seem like much but it makes it more difficult to reach items in the cupboard above the stove. I did not give the stove 5 stars because I have had it such a short time.

Love the top oven. Great for making toast. Once you figure out the oven controls baking is great. Wish it had two large burners instead of one. Overall extremely pleased.

cracked chipping enamel in 6 months

I bought this oven 7 months ago. One month ago I noticed that the enamel was cracking and flaking off in the upper oven. The upper oven is used minimally - I prefer to use the convection oven in the bottom (wish they were both convection). I called to ask about warranty coverage and was told that enamel is "cosmetic" and not covered. If I want to talk with a service technician to confirm this, I will have to pay for the call. I am unbelievably disappointed in the poor quality of this appliance, and the lack of service provided by KitchenAid (charging me for a phone call?!). This is supposedly a high end appliance - one of three KitchenAid appliances that I purchased together - a purchase that I very much regret at this point. The enamel protects the rest of the oven - without enamel, the rest of the oven is exposed to moisture/food/etc. Enamel is not cosmetic - it serves a function. Of course, by the time the function of the oven itself is compromised because of the cracked enamel and related damage, my warranty will be expired. My last oven was a Jenn-Air and I never had a problem with it for 10 years - I wish I had brought my 10 year old Jenn-Air to our new house - I'm sure it would have worked longer than my brand new KitchenAid.

We love this stove for its classic look, without having a crazy needless touch screen or anything we wont use on a stove.
The double oven with this is great, yes you lose the bottom storage or warming drawer. But who really uses that anyway except to store cookie sheets? We have space elsewhere for those.
The duel fuel in this model, gas range, electric ovens was critical, and during the sale we took advantage of, we were getting a superior model for the same price of lower tier models.
Would definitely suggest this model if it went on a great sale! Full price, eh, feel like you're paying a bit for the kitchenaid branding. But the quality of the materials and their finishes is certainly apparent.

I love my new KitchenAid stove. It is beautiful and works beautifully. The cook top is easy to clean. Having the two ovens is very useful. I can use the smaller oven for many items I cook. The larger oven is perfect for making bread.

While this appliance is still new to me, their are a couple of issues that I have.
When you have to clean the stovetop, you have to basically take all the grates off and they are heavy. Then you have to maneuver them back in place with the latches and sync them up to the holes. The positive note is that the stove top cleans up very nicely when you spill or things boil over.
The oven doors are a little bit of a struggle to pull open. They are heavy.
The knobs to the stovetop get very hot, almost to the point of not being able to touch them when you clean the oven. They are in the front of the stovetop right above the oven.

We also own the electric flat-top version of this range. The ovens on this unit and its electric predecessor are FANTASTIC. I LOVE the convection baking option on the lower oven. Very even baking. I much prefer the gas range top over the electric range top of its predecessor. The gas top allows you to very finely adjust cooking temps.

Upper oven is small and bakes well. I think it runs a little cooler then my old oven but the small space maybe the reason. Highly recommend giving appropriate time to warn before use. Lower oven seems dead on for temperature. Also note, range shuts off gas so even burners will not work in a power outage. It is a safety feature. Make sure have generator power source if you plan to use in this situation.

We wanted a dual fuel stove with a gas cooktop and electric ovens. There are few models to choose from in the freestanding range category, but that doesn’t matter because this model has it all! 5 burners, double oven (that cooks extremely well) and even a control lock that also locks the gas flow to the cook top (great for homes with kids). The leveling legs were a little difficult to adjust and the range is HEAVY so I don’t see us moving it much.

Overall, I love this range. It has the advantages of both a gas stovetop and electric oven as well as the versatility of a double oven. I do have a couple of concerns.
1. It scratches easily. First scratch after just 1 day.
2. I had to recalibrate the bottom oven shortly after receiving it. The temperature was off by over 40 degrees.

I've only had this stove a week and haven't used all the features yet but anticipate that I will love it. I have used the gas burners and the small oven which work great. I unfortunately scratched the top surface when moving the grate to clean it without even knowing it was happening . . . bummer. Overall, it's a great stove.
