    Extremely poor design for price

    1. We bought this stove about three years ago and it has worked - frequently when it wasn't suppose to be doing so. The front face control panel is at the same height as the avg. adult butt - which turns on numerous settings - major design flaw. I have since installed a stainless steel bar in front of the controls to make them butt-proof. 2. We spilled a cup of milk on the stove to and the display started flashing al kinds of error messages. Since the unit is now out of warrantee, I pulled the stove control panel off and it was - full of milk - crumbs, grease, a few bugs, dust and general household debris. I disassembled all the control printed circuit boards, removed the milk with rubbing alcohol dried it gently with a hair dryer on warm, reassembled and reassembled and it worked fine. The problem in my opinion is only an incompetent designer/working under an incompetent management system would be allowed to design a system like this without the control panel being sealed in a spill-proof case. Stove top spills are inevitable. 3. Much of this "stainless steel" stove isn't. For the price you would expect it all to be. Much of the frame and out of sight parts are poorly painted mild steel - same as the cheap brands. That's my problem with Kitchen Aid - they try to create the perception of quality the outside and with premium prices - but the reality is that the Kitchen Aid stove and dish washer that I own are poorly designed perform at minimum standards, and aren't worth anywhere near the asking price.

Do not buy one of these

We inherited a house with one of these. A pan boiled over and it blew the electrics. Imagine a range/oven that can't handle water on the stove top. But worse, the kitchen was built around the oven. So we had to buy another one, which took several weeks to arrive. And then, two months later, another pan boils over and, you guessed it. This machine is lovely - just so long as you are the kind of cook that is watching your pans every second.... We are not talking huge amounts of water here. We are seriously thinking of remodeling the entire kitchen, granite tops and all, so we don't have to get another one of these.

This is the best range I have ever used. It makes cooking fun! The cooktop heats very quickly and all the settings are very accurate. The oven's features are very usefull and the convection feature really helps to save you time as well as using less electricity. I've always enjoyed cooking but now my wife is always looking for opportunitys to cook. This range makes you feel like you are Alton Brown

I bought this stove 2 years ago and paid more than it sells for today. I have zero regrets! The value of this stove is great. The convection cooks perfect. I love the touch features, no nobs to clean. The cook top cleans up perfect. I am not a review writer type girl. I just love everything about this stove. Buy the warranty. Best buy stands behind it. This oven cooks food even. Read the instructions regarding convection cooking. It cooks evenly. The cook time is shorter and hotter.
