But I wanted one that matched my new kitchen. So my daughter has happily inherited the old one after the repair. I know they are dependable and this proved it.

When I used the mixer for the first time it just didn't sound right compared to my old mixer (identical to this one except it was 35 years old). I called Kitchenaide and they diagnosed the problem by phone. Kitchenaide is replacing the mixer at no expense to me. Quality products and quality service.

That's right my first one I got 40 years ago and it just died. So I went out to get a new one. I love this mixer already, its a step up from the one I had and my only hope is that this one lasts another 40 years, if I do, lol

Amazing tool but get the pro model

While the bowl can be difficult to get out sometimes it's not that bad. My only big gripe is the retaining pin that holds the top to the base works itself out all the time! Great machine that allows you to expand your cooking though. Spend the extra cash and go with the pro model.
