The two stars is because the delivery time was on point. Ordered it and it was on my doorstep in under 24 hours. I got it as a surprise for my wife. She was definitely surprised and happy, but then she opened the box. Turns out we got one that had been returned. She ended up returning it and getting a different one from another store so, yeah... so much for my surprise. Thanks, Best Buy.

I bought this returned and bought another one and had to return it as well. The motor isn't powerful enough to even mix bread dough. I've had one just like for over 30 years and thought it was time for a new one as it is leaking gray grease through the accessory port. I still want a new one how can you help me get one powerful enough to use my accessories.

In this day of quarantine and social distancing, it’s nice to have something to do as a family, and this mixer has played a huge part in it! Since we got this, my wife and kids have made several loaves of bread and cookies that we’ve delivered to friends and family as “pick-me-ups” It’s got decent power and a small footprint on the counter. Cleanup is easy as well. The kitchen aid name still means quality. This mixer is a heavy piece of machinery! Looking forward to getting the various attachments.

    Solid Kitchen Tool

I like good tools. Good tools are not inexpensive. It is difficult to do good work without quality tools. Kitchen tools are not usually my main focus. Most of my tools are used for construction related projects. I own a quality wet tile saw for porcelain tile installations. I have chainsaws to die for – figuratively, not literally. Pneumatic nailers, nice cement tools, a commercial grade snow blower, and a decent truck with a plow. So why do I now have this tilt stand mixer? My wife is very smart. Our family likes nice mashed potatoes and she can turn a 5 pound bag of potatoes into 1 pound of potatoes and 4 pounds of potato peels. That is how mashed potatoes became my job to do at home. For years I have been using what I considered to be a nice mixer – but I was mistaken. It is an ok mixer but it is tough to compare to the KitchenAid. (Actually, getting me to do to potatoes for all these years was likely part of a master plan on my wife’s part. That was probably how she got me to do the laundry and bathrooms as well…) The moment you take this mixer out of the box you know you have a real quality tool. It is the Land Rover of mixers. A bit heavy, but wow – the luxury and performance make it difficult to go back to anything else. The first batch of mashed potatoes received rave reviews from the family. The mixer comes with three attachments – a Flat Beater, Dough Hook, and Wire Whip. There are 10 speeds to be used according to task and attachment. Other accessories are available as well. I plan on using my label maker to designate the proper speed for attachment and task. If we weren’t in the middle of a heat wave right now (without air conditioning!) and a pandemic – which for some reason limits the availability and ability to buy a decent amount of flour in the supermarket – I would be giving that dough hook a work out and trying out a recipe for bread. After all, I hate processed bread, and I have and know how to use a cement mixer – I think I am ready to try making bread with my new tool as soon as the weather cools. Although I don’t let my wife use my chain saw, I will have no problem letting her borrow my new KitchenAid mixer.

The switch button used to lock the head can not lock the head tightly. It causes the head jumps up and down during mixing. Too bad for a expensive mixer like this.

I mean you buy this because of the name, right. This thing locked up in me the first use when I was grinding bacon for 50/50 burgers! If you use attachments get the bigger one. I returned this one with the only 300 watt motor to get the 525 watt motor that is super pricey. Hopefully it will last longer than one use........

This mixer replaces an old Sunbeam stand mixer from the 60s or 70s given to us 15 years ago by my grandmother. It never stopped working, but it was time for an upgrade. Enter the sleek and powerful KitchenAid stand mixer. The difference, of course, was night and day. If it needs to be mixed, this mixer will do it without slowing or skipping a beat. Out of the box, it is pretty much ready to go. It comes with a bowl, a paddle mixer, whisk, and dough hook. What else do you need? Attachments, that’s what!! We ordered a meat grinder attachment to supplement the blender. Just looking at it sitting on the counter and you want to make some cookies or a loaf of bread! Performance-wise, this thing is a beast. It does it’s thing in constant tempo. Steady. It has 10 speeds, will make whatever do you want or will whip up a merengue, no problem. With covid, ground beef has been a little difficult to come by which is why we bought the grinder. What a godsend. I buy the beef at Costco and grind it down. Tacos and Spaghetti are back on the menu! I also make the filling for my sausages. We love this blender and are certain it will last as long as our previous one.

For a few years now I have contemplated getting a KitchenAid stand mixer and now that I own one I regret not getting one sooner. The name and appliance are iconic and for good reason. The mixer is heavy, sturdy, powerful and well built. On the countertop it draws attention. I must admit that the booklet that comes with it was not informative enough for me so I looked up some recipes online to get a better feel of the speed settings before my first use. I would recommend doing the same for anyone who is new to stand mixers. The appliance itself is straight foward to use and makes tedious work light that would otherwise be done by hand. The included attachments all seem sturdy so far and have performed well. This model comes with a 4.5 quart mixing bowl, which I appreciate, since my household consists of only myself and one other so we are not creating large batches of anything. This mixer has performed flawlessly and has made tasks in the kitchen easier and faster which is very satisfying. So far, the mixer has aided with bringing together doughs, mashing potatoes, and even making butter! I recommend getting the splatter guard for butter though; I learned the hard way. Since receiving the mixer I have been looking at different ways to use it. I love that numerous attachments are also available for the mixer, increasing its versatility. Overall, this stand mixer is great and I recommend getting one if you have ever considered it.

Please skip the classic and get the Artisan. This model has a weaker motor and it shakes when using the mixer. The artisan has a stronger motor and it does not shake when using it. Returned this model and got the artisan and is working great.

Big mixer: This mixer works very well and the quality and feel of the product exceeds expectations. The attachments secure very well to the mixer and do a thorough job of mixing the ingredients evenly. It is also very convenient to leave the mixer running while I prepare other parts of the meal without having to worry about what it going on with the mixer. Additionally, it huge range of speeds allow for different consistencies of batter or dough and does not send it flying out of the mixing bowl. I made a lighter batch of cookies as well pretzel dough for soft pretzels and there was no mess from flying debris and the mixtures come out so even. I immediately noticed that the unit is a very heavy unit so I am not sure that I would recommend it to those who have trouble lifting heavy objects. Along with that heavy weight though is the exceptional build quality, it is hard to find machines this well built anymore. Nothing about it feels cheap or light, virtually everything is metal and engineered well so everything lines up and fits together well. Overall the price of this product vs. The quality of the product that you get is well beyond worth it. The convenience, ease of use, and consistency will be well worth it to anyone who finds themselves often making things from scratch.

I bought this classic mixer after seeing how well my sister's artisan has worked for years. I have used this mixer twice now. The first time I used it to mix a quick bread. It seemed to strain. I know the classic is not the most powerful, so I tried it on some chocolate chip cookie dough next. The mixer is very loud and the tilt head wobbles so much that it cannot mix properly. The lock lever is not working right. I think I got a faulty mixer but now I'm past my return date.

This classic Series 4.5 Quart Tilt head Stand mixer is great buy! The standard set comes with three basic attachments, a sturdy steel bowl and a mixer. The tilt head design makes it easy to access and scrape all corners while mixing the ingredients. The stir speed ranges from 2-10 for increasing or decreasing the speed which helps in adjusting time required to mix everything. This set which comes along with wire whisk, paddle and hook as basic attachment are excellent for everyday use in kitchen and has a wide variety of additional attachments if one needs more. The design of the machine is very attractive and can be easily placed on the counter top or stored. Unfortunately, the weight of the machine makes it a little difficult to carry it around easily and the sound levels can sometimes be loud to some ears. However, it’s extremely easy to use and produces great results. This mixer is for those who love to spend time in their kitchen and it makes life a lot easier with simple and easy use functions. I would highly recommend this product to those thinking about buying it.
