    I wanted this to replace my 10 year old Classic Plus. Nothing has changed , the same accessories came with it like the dough hook, whip, beater & stainless steel bowl. Other attachments are available but you have to buy them separately. Also the same size , 4.5 quart with 10 speeds. It is still as heavy as it always was. No cookbook was included like my last mixer. For me the quality seems to have gone downhill, this made a high pitch whistle sound the whole time I used it. I made 2 different batters for cupcakes, one I used the whip attachment for cream cheese filling & the other batter was the chocolate mixture which I used the beater. I felt like the ingredients didn’t blend well like they used to & I had to mix them for a longer time. Seemed like it was slower & struggled with batter that wasn’t even thick. The spring is missing from the mixer where you attach the beater which makes for easier removal but just seems cheaper. Honestly, I like my old model better.

    I purchased for my daughter and was disappointed. The bowl did not have a handle and is difficult to remove after mixing. Also KitchenAid does not included the cookbook with this model as they had in the past.

    Disappointed

    My sister has had a Kitchenaid mixer for years. After Christmas I splurged and bought this one for myself. On its first use, the head wobbles and the lock toggle is loose. I lift the head even if it’s “locked”. Second problem is the noise. It’s awful. Even just making my first batch of cookies, I couldn’t wait to turn this thing off. My sister’s mixer is not this loud. I think something is wrong but when I chat with customer “care” the rep told me it’s normal and ended the chat. Now I’m stuck with a loud expensive mixer that can’t lock in place.

    Broke on first use

    I bought this mixer for my mother in law for her birthday and even gave it to her early so she could use it. Well on first use it stopped working before she even finished making cookie dough. She followed all the steps on how to trouble shoot it and after letting it set for over 24 hours and re plugging it in it still didnt work. Wouldnt even turn on. I then tried contacting customer service which was a joke on the first call after being transfered through 5 people I got to a person who would help and they hung up on me, ( I was on a land line no cell phone) The second call only had to be transfered 2 times and finally got through and got a return label printed off and sent the product back. It was processed and accepted over 3 days ago. I havent recieved the money in my account and now will have to pay more for the product if I want to purchase again. Also was told on the phone once my item was processed and accepted they would send me out a new one to replace the dfective one. I havent gotten and email about that happening. I have purchased all of my electronics through this store and and debating if I will ever purchase anything again from here.

    Is quality declining?

    Received as gift. So passed our 41 year old KA mixer on to our child. New Kitchenaid mixer did not last 6 months and the drive locked up. Now hearing the new ones are frequently locking up...should try to get my old one back! Online repair videos show plastic gears... cant be as durable as cut steel.

    Disappointing Quality

    The speed lever broke a month into using it. I've been looking forward to getting a stand mixer for years so this was extremely disappointing.
