However, for me, there are two obvious drawbacks. One, it's difficult to thoroughly clean the blade since it isn't detachable, but not impossible. Two, it heats up very quickly - while the temperature doesn't seem to influence the integrity of the functionality, it does actually heat up what is being blended. For instance, I made hummus, and while it was the smoothest hummus I've ever made, it then took a long time to cool it down afterwards. I think I'll still keep it, but it could be improved.
