I loved the handle and lightweight bowl. But, the beaters did not scrape the bottom properly, even after adjusting. Since the head did not lift, every time the bowl needed scraping, it took forever to unplug the mixer, remove the beater, lower the bowl, scrape, etc., then go through the reverse motions and start over several times. It toook twice as much time to mix my batter. Hopefully, a lift head would be a better option, but this particular mixer wasn't the dream machine I'd been wishing for.

I wish I would have gotten a mixer with a tilt head. this one has a lever where you can raise and lower the bowl but I really wish it had a tilt head which would have made it easier when you've been mixing and have something stuck to the beater

This bowl lift mixer has all metal gears and a powerful motor yet it is not too big like some of the larger models. Beater and dough hook are coated, which is nice too so that they can go in the dishwasher.

Nice product but the beater doesn't get around the edges or bottom of the bowl. Considering the price, this should not be an issue

Mixer is a good buy. The only question is I bought a rubber sided beater and it rubs the side of the bowl to hard and makes the mixer jump on the counter. Wonder if there is a fix to the problem?

This mixer is everything you could want. Other mixers with beaters can't touch this machine. It makes the job easy.

It was a big disappointment after opening the box

After purchasing this stand mixer, I was really excited that now I could easily make dough with it. But when I received it yesterday, I was really surprised on the fact that it looked like a used product. I found lots of scratches on its wire whip and the flat beater where they hit the bowl. Moreover, the flat beater's coating was chipped off and its powder was falling from the chipped area. Since I was planning to use this machine right away, this powder could be added into my bread if I did not notice it. Now I have to wait till my husband's day off to return this huge machine (since it's too heavy for me to return it by myself). Great disappointment after figuring that I received a used product and too sad to wait till next weekend to make bagels. I would recommend people to buy this product from offline.

Beater does not get to edges of bowl. Had to get another beater that had bowl scraper built on. You would think after this amount of time Kitchen Aid would have fixed I this issue.

This mixer is so far a disappointment . It is a struggle to get bowl right on it's "pegs". Also very hard to put on and take off dough hook and beater and whipping beater.I have always found the kitchen aid mixers to save time and make over all work in the kitchen easier. This one is the exception !! Also arrived with damaged beater,it required two trips to nearest Best Buy store to correct. This store is one hour away. In my opinion a lot of trouble.I was told it could not be mailed after they ordered it.As seniors every penny counts and two trips to fix a problem ,which was not our fault seems too much. Also low bowl means flour and other powdery items fly everywhere. Was told no shield for this model exists. .

Bought this mixer and was happy with it. Very disappointed when I found out that you cannot buy the beater with the rubber edge for it. The beater that comes with it leaves lots of unmixed dough around the outside of the bowl. Took it back and traded for an Artisan which has the good beater to wipe the bowl.

Bought for wife. She loves it. The only problem I had the beater attachment had a crack on it. Took to the local Best Buy and they sent the unit back for a replacement.

It has a flawed packaging, as I tried to unbox, the beater just fell and chipped. It would be ideal if those loose parts can be taped. Be very careful when unboxing it. The unit itself is great! , very solid and powerful.

KitchenMaid mixers are all of a good quality, but this is a little better. It is heavy, so it is best to leave it in one place, but the weight make is easy to mix things and not worry about the mixer moving around. The bowl lift to me is better than the tilt stand. When done mixing, leave the beaters going and slowly move the bowl down to clear everything from the beaters. I like the bright red but this also come in many other colors.

I'm not happy with the mixer. Do not like the way the bowl attaches. Do not like the way the beaters attach. Was unable to return because I did not know ere was a 15 day return policy. Seriously WHO has a 15 day policy!! I used it once and now I'm stuck with it

I bought 3 of these on black Friday to give as Xmas gifts. I ended up keeping one because my daughter-in-law had already bought herself one before Thanksgiving. The quality has gone so far downhill, it wouldn't be worth $100, much less $200. About 25% of the time the switch doesn't work. Beater doesn't reach bottom even if you adjust it. And the bowl has dark scratches around the rim as if it's not really stainless. And it's loud. My old Kitchen Aid cost less and worked like my friend. I may give this one to Goodwill and go back to my old one. It's only 22 years old.

good heavy duty mixer with needed minor tweaking

Let me first say, I like this heavy mixer. Being the second Kitchen Aid stand mixer owned, I am use to some of the nuances that people will complain about- that being the provided beaters do not scrape the bowl, and perhaps the noise gets a bit irritating if running for a length of time, (which I commonly do). I solve these two "problems" by simply scraping down the bowl at intervals, and playing heavy metal music even louder, (loving Rage Against the Machine). The biggest and most profound problem I found, and many others did too, is installing and removing the mixing bowl. This is no easy feat and I am a pretty strong fella. A sturdy metal tab on the machine locks into the back of the bowl whereupon TNT is then needed to pop the bowl out. Upon attempting to remove the mixing bowl you can expect all of your ingredients that have been carefully measured and mixed to suddenly become airborne landing on the surrounding counter, cabinets, and even the ceiling. It was mildly frustrating, hence Rage Against the Machine was discovered. Not to be defeated, with problems comes solutions: I removed this metal tab, (screw mounted), placed it in a vice and bent the sucker a bit the other way. Now my bowl installs and releases as it should, with one hand and gentle pressure so everything stays where it should until ready to pour, however, I still do listen to Rage.

My wife has been wanting one of these for quite some time. We got one on sale during Black Friday. The item is heavy duty; meaning once you set it down, it ain't movin'. There are two things to be aware of. First. you need to clean the metal attachments as well as clean the bowl really good. There is a silver film that will come off in the batter if you don't clean them first. Second, the flat beater that comes in the package does not scrape the sides or the bottom of the bowl. You need to purchase the flex edge beater or purchase a beaterblade, which is not a kitchen aid product, but it is made for kitchen aid. It has the rubber scrapers on both sides. Other than that, the mixer has been great.

After reading many many many reviews on this mixer I decided to purchase it. I received it this past Saturday (12/2) and have made cinnamon buns and peanut butter cookies. First, unless I just got lucky I don't think the mixer is as loud as others are making it out to be. After reading some complaints in regards to the noise level I was truly expecting it to be terrible. However, was pleasantly surprised... I mean obviously it makes some noise it's a mixer (duh! @@@@@@@ , but no where near what I was expecting it to be. Second, ok so this is going to be one of 2 complaints. The first is that if you're making dough like I was for the cinnamon buns you have to use the dough hook and generally recipes require eggs. What I found annoying was that the dough hook's mixing never popped the yolk. I had to stop the mixer and poke the yolks with a fork for the eggs to eventually get mixed in with the rest of the mixture. Second, is that if you're adding in ingredients while the machine is running you have to time it well enough so things don't get sprayed up the side of the wall. Also, when using the regular beater mixture gets pushed up the side of the bowl walls so it's a bit annoying to stop the machine and take a spatula to push down the mix.I guess that's why they sell the flex edge and shield as accessories. Other than that the mixer is great! Definitely does the job well especially when mixing thicker doughs (such as bread or cookies). Prior to this I was using a regular hand mixer and definitely had a few scares when trying to mix cookies because it would almost burn out (lol). All in all I would definitely recommend the product especially for the price point I purchased it at ($200 as a doorbuster vs I think almost $500 normally). I hope someone finds this review useful : @@@@@@@
