When using the steam wand, the design results in water filling the drip tray, but not from anywhere visible. It is as though the drip tray was designed to allow water from inside the machine to fill up the tray. This results in a drip tray that becomes full unexpectedly. I call this a poor design. Here’s another problem with the steam wand: it seems to suck in some of the milk from the mug. Go figure. Again, I would call this a poor design. Now, let me share how much this machine is used: I make one latte with a double shot for my wife and I make one Americana with a double shot for me. This is each morning. Not for a party. Not for a large household. Beverages for two. In less than 5 months, I have successfully killed two of these machines. But when it was working… it really worked! So I will give it two stars for that!

This espresso machine has a very simple set up. Out of the box in less than 10 minutes I made my first shot of espresso. The advertised dual temperature sensors do what they were designed to do and on first pour, my espresso shot was at perfect drinking temperature and tasted very delightfully delicious. The aroma of the espresso was very potent and depending on the grounds you use will determine the strength of your shot. The machine is very simple to use with just pressing the button for the desired drink of choice. Keep in mind that this model doesn't come with the milk frother attachment so you won't get that foamy top if desired but you can make all the espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes that you can handle. Another additional feature that this machine has is the cup warmer on top which did an adequate job at warming up my cup before pouring my shot. Overall, the machine is very easy to use and provides excellent tasting espresso drinks. There is an added benefit of being thin in width and not taking up a lot of counter space.

When it comes to espresso, I want it to taste the best and this machine helps to get you there. This to me is a classic espresso machine while still being semi-automatic (as titled). If you don't want all the bells and whistle but yet a high-quality machine, I recommend having this model on your list. I used to always use a Nespresso but now I only use real beans for the past year. So much better quality so having a machine like this is great for this. Brewing your shots of espresso is easy. Fill up the metal filter, twist her on, and select the number of shots you want. Also, don't forget to fill up the water tank! Your coffee will pour out of two spouts which are advertised as recessed as they are just two holes. I kind of like when the spouts are sticking out with metal for better guidance on where to put my cup. I kind of have to look under to make sure I am dead on? The top section of the espresso maker can host your cups and make them prewarmed as the machine gets and stays hot while it is on. The steam wand is easy to use and I get the foam I want each time. This machine also comes with a coffee scoop, tamper, and milk pitcher. Usually, you have to pay extra for these accessories so it's great that they are standard and add to the value of this machine. Great machine for the price with your basic features and a good set of accessories.

The espresso taste pretty good however, it’s a big disappointment because the espresso nor foam ever gets hot. It’s too much of an investment to experience a cold, cappuccino or espresso.
