Just to let you know, i've sang in choir my entire life, i play the guitar, and piano. Music is a big part of my life, and so therefore sound is very important. I love watching movies at home. I first started out with little speakers the THX certified Logitech Z-2300, then played through my laptop with a creative sound blaster sound card, hooked up to that was the THX certified Logitech Z-5300. Then I started to learn more about Digital outs like optical, coaxial, and HDMI, then upgraded my surround system to the THX certified Logitech Z-5500. I Loved the sounds that were coming from these speakers but it never really impressed me. Sure they were always great for music but when it came down to movies, the subwoofer would never be loud when i wanted it to be loud. I then upgraded my system to the Yamaha RX-V363BL 500 Watt 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver, i kept the satellite speakers that came with it and ditched the subwoofer for this behemoth of a subwoofer. I was on the prowl for a new subwoofer and was just lucky enough to stumble on this sale that only lasted for 2 days that made the subwoofer $279.99. I tested the speakers with the movies cloverfield, and transformers, and let the right one in (a swedish vampire movie). This is by far one of the best subwoofers I have ever had the privledge of being in the same room with. I have never literally jolted in my seat before when someone in the movie knocked on the door. My sisters fiance bought a paradigm Seismic 10 for about 2 grand. And i can confidentally say that my little subwoofer rivals his. This is a great speaker, with a great price. Purchase this subwoofer with ease of mind that you will be getting a great product.

    Powerful Clean Thunder

I went to Best Buy to buy the Polk PS110 which is a 10" with 100 Watts RMS. The Salesperson that was helping me suggested the Klipsch 10". We listened to both of them side by side with the main speakers turned off. The Klipsch was so much louder and more powerful that I made him check the volume on each Sub to make sure it wasn't turned up more than the Polk, but they were both set to just a little past halfway. Wow was I impressed with how much cleaner and more powerful the Klipsch was. The Polk was descent but not in the same league as the Klipsch 10". I was still debating if the Klipsch was worth the extra $150.00 compared to the Polk so the Salesperson was able to reduce the Klipsch $50.00 on the spot so I made the decision and bought it, and then I worried all the way home about spending the extra money, GEEZ ! After hearing the quality and power of this sub there were no regrets about this purchase. This thing Thunders!!!! Clean with no distortion. It adds nice thump at low volumes also. Blends in nicely with my Home Theater which is ,Harmon Kardon Receiver, Bose 201 Mains, Bose VCS10 Center Bose 161 Surrounds. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra bucks on the Klipsch 10", you won't regret it.

    Totally worth the money

Overall, this speaker is great! It's totally worth the money we spent on it. It's amazingly clear and plenty powerful enough to match my RF-1 fronts and RC-1 center. It did take a little while to get it dialed in on the cut-off frequency and volume, but the time spent was totally worth it. It filled our fairly large (25x27) living room with a smooth deep bass throughout the room, not just at the "optimal position". People commented on it's sound with music, my response is that they've got it turned up too much or the cut-off is not properly set. I did experience this at first, but when I spent a little more time on getting it dialed in, that all went away and it now sounds great for TV, Movies, and Music. It is pretty large, so get ready to find a proper place for it. Also, go ahead and spend the extra money on a Monster Sub cable. With this sub you can instantly tell the difference. All in all, I can't find anything negative to say about this sub and would HIGHLY recommend this to someone with tower speakers powerful enough to accompany it and not get overpowered. I would not recommend it to someone with bookshelf speakers, it is just too powerful.

    Good - But Overpriced

Purchased this unit on sale price for $279 and I still think its overpriced. Please note that I really tested this for MUSIC not home theatre. The power is substantial, its very clear, no distoration but the definition is poor even at the price I paid. I confirmed the poor definition after listening to a Red Hot Chilli Peppers song and noticed the bass line was not well defined like I was used too. So I then put the CD in my bookshelf stereo and that produced a better defined bass! What? Its a $300 JVC bookshelf stereo, that just shouldn't happen. I ended up getting the Definitive Technology ProSub 800 (kept all my settings the same) and wow, that thing was like gold. The bass rolled off perfectly with great definition. The unit is half the size of the Klipsh Sub 10 too! I played some Jay Z and Outkast and the Klipsh did well but as soon I played anything with a guitar bass line it just wasn't defined...so for rock music I would highly advise getting this unit, ecspecially at this price point. Receiver is a Yamaha V663, loudspeakers are ProMonitor 800.

    Rock Solid

This is one best subwoofers I have ever had the privledge to listen to. From the looks of the picture you would be surprised by the actual sound. This speaker has a very large cabinet, it requiress a very large space. If you were to knock on the cabinet you would expect the sound to be boxy. But it is completely rock solid. It has a bottom firing 10 inch woofer. The rear port is extremely large. It is about 4-5 inches in diameter. This allows for very low noise and turbulence. Care needs to be taken with the feet, they will break easily. The sound is very well defined even in corners. Klipsch suggests that you place the sub in the corner of your room. THX will tell you not to but the sub was built to be placed in the corner. The sound is not muddy or undefined. Volume control is not at all sloppy. This sub is very very powerful, if you own an apartment this is not the sub for you. This is the type of sub that blends almost perfectly with your front speakers and the sub does not make itself known. I highly recommened this sub for music and movies.

I bought this sub on sale for 250$. Which was a extreme buy, I paired it with a Quintet III system and hooked it up to a cheap 5.1 reciever has dolby pro log II though. This sub is more than you possibly need unless your room is Massive. It almost isn't even worth getting the 12" sub, the only thing you will be getting is 100 watts more power and a low end frequency response of 24 compared to the 10" of 28. Compared to other subs at its price, unmatched in power, quality and features. With the adjustable 0-180° phase switch it allows you to set it in phase for optimal bass with your other speakers and the room. The Vairiable crossover switch allows you to blend the sub with your other speakers incase you have some more powerfull front floor standing speakers. For the price this is the sub you should buy Klipsh is a top of the line name and it shows it with there line of synergy subs and speakers, your movies and music really do come to life. Make sure that you do not set the sub too high I have mine at half power and it is almost too much.

Ever wanted the feel of the movie theatres without the going to the movies? Pick up one of these babies and you'll swear the movies have come to you! + I just recently purchased this subwoofer, along with the Quintet III satellite speakers and Icon floor speakers. All I can say is that I now know that I had never actually heard any of my music, or movies before now. + The bass delivered from this powerful sub is enough to rattle my dvds off their shelves and shake the chair I'm sitting in! Action sequences in movies are a hundred times more intense, video games are so much easier to get into to, and music is so much more crisp and thunderous! + For the price, you really aren't going to get a better quality sub, and even if you could, why waste all that money when this one would rival them for half the price. I highly recommend this sub to anyone who enjoys high quality sound, but doesn't want to spend a million dollars on their system.

    Great When It's Not Broke

When I first bought this system and installed it, it sounded awesome. Movies, T.V., Races, games, everything had good full sound and deep rich bass. About 6 months after having it, the sound from the sub got weaker and I kept having to turn up the gain to maintain performance. Eventually, it stopped working altogether. The power light on the front would still turn from red to blue when the receiver was turned on, but no sound from the sub. I called Klipsch and they said they've had a lot of problems with the amplifiers in these subs. So I took it back to Best Buy to get it repaired. They sent it off, and Klipsch replaced "an electrical part or internal board" (according to the repair ticket. So life was good again. Now, it's been about another 8 months, and I'm taking it back for repair again. same symptoms. hopefully this time they'll give me on that won't die again. in another 6-8 months, my warranty will be expired and I'll be out of luck. At that point, I doubt that I'd buy another Klipsch sub.

    Awesome Sub

I just upgraded from a Sony 8" to this sub and there is no comparison. This 10" sub really does rattle the walls. The sound is awesome, with left and right RCA inputs it really makes a difference when your watching action movies, the bass sounds like it travels from side to side with the surround sound. It is really easy to use the gain and low frequency controls, turn it on and tune it to your preference. I also like the fact that you can run your front left and right surround speakers from the built in amp on the sub, it lets the sub make the bass instead of the surround speakers. It makes a difference. This sub has "auto-on" wich means you don't have to turn the sub on and off every time you want to use it, it turns on when it gets a signal from the receiver and turns itself off after you turn the receiver off. I absolutely love this sub, I'm just sorry I waited so long to purchase it.

I am sorry to say that i did not buy it at BEST BUY. Only 'cause the other store had it on clearance (liquidation sale) "c.c." . I did not even like going into this store. Best Buy did not have it in stock plus that weekend was my birthday i saved over $100 on the sub. I was so excited couldn't wait to get home but stopped at B.B. to purchase the MONSTER CABLE THX SUB CABLE. Also a great product. This SUB did NOT disapoint every thing i listen to from movies, music, NATGEO, DISC, HIST, it all sounds great. Guess what even the WIFE was impressed. I still can't believe how great it sounds. After experimenting on it's location in my MAN CAVE "BULLITT'S BACK ROOM". I also discovered that going onto the KLIPSCH web site it gave tips on placing the sub atleast six inches away from wall. This really helped out, this sub is a great addition to my theater system. A YAMAHA RX-V361 component, KLIPSCH SYNERGY QUINTET III THEATER SYSTEM, HITACHI 50" plasma, and SONY BLU-RAY player.

This sub is really powerful! I was debating on whether to go with the Sub 10 or spend the extra hundred bucks for the Sub 12. I have quickly realized that this sub is more than enough! I have it paired with two Klipsch Icon Vf 35 towers, klipsch Icon Vc 25 center, and four Klipsch Synergy III S1s. It matches quite well and sounds incredible! It's an awesome 7.1 setup. The sub itself has a great frequency response from 40 hz to 120 hz. This means that it will cover all the lows and not just some. This sub is well equipped to work with big towers as fronts, or something like the Klipsch Quintett system. Overall I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. I would have to agree however with another review that the front light is too bright. It's a bright blue and when all the lights are off it is really bright! That's why I gave it a four on appearance. But it is a minor detail that I can deal with. Other than that I have no complaints whatsoever. I am very impressed!

Best Buy is offering a bundle of Klipsch Speakers & Subwoofer with a Yamaha Receiver for $955. I was originally going to buy Bose until I started reading reviews on surround sound systems. Those reviews stated that Polk or Klipsch have better systems than what Bose offers without the pricetag. Can't always believe what ya read, so I went to BB and spoke to a saleman who felt this was the system to get. Still wasn't sure (almost $1000 - I wanted to be positive) I did more internet searching - Father's Day was just around the corner - so I decide to buy it. Go back and they are SOLD OUT. Fortunately, according to the internet, the BB who stated they had the entire system only had one left - and I (my husband) got it. So, here's the point - if your on the fence about a system - get off it and get this bundle. What a deal! If you only need the sub - you will be very happy with this one!

Bangin' Bass with this 10 inch sub!!!

I made this my subwoofer of choice when I purchased my quintet 3 system. I have these speakers hooked up to a H/K AVR-146 Receiver in a room that is 14 x 13 and this subwoofer is outstanding. I have been playing around with it to see how awesome and earth shattering the bass can be, especially with those awesome action/sci-fi movies. I put in Star Wars Episode 3 to check out the beginning sequence of the movie and the bass was so awesome that my pictures on the wall began to rattle. Highly recommend....don't skimp on a Sub......you could look at the Sub-12, but if you have a smaller HomeTheater room........you will be perfect with the Sub-10. But they are both a great product......if you don't know of a person who has this sub, go to your local Best Buy and check it out!!!

I have a surround sound system that was a system in a box. The bass was always making plastic cracking sounds and wasn't ever deep rolling harmony. When I bought a new receiver and starting to upgrade my system this was on sale for 250 bucks, THE BEST SUB OUT THERE for the money. It has a deep rolling sound, never vibrates on the floor. Has an auto on/off and can hook up my front speakers with no bass going to them like a crossover. Honestly if you can find something like this on sale, have a medium sized t.v. room and high expectations of your products, go for this one. I am a new found klipsch fan after hearing the quality of this bass and will be replacing all of my speakers with this kind of quality... If I can find them on sale!!!

I hooked this SW up too my Yamaha tuner and Klipsch Quintet II speakers. The first thing I watched was Apocalypse Now due to the phenominal 5.1 sound. The subwoofer is tremendous. You can have it as loud or as subtle as you want and it doesnt distort. Hook up was a breeze via a single "SW cable" (not supplied). I'm not a tech head but I had no problems putting it all together. The sub has its own power supply which is an absolute must have from a power set up standpoint. Just a side note.... all these components are only as good as the bit in the middle (the tuner) and the amount of power that it can push to the individual parts. Once you have it all set right this sub will last you a long long long time before you outgrow it. I WOULD buy this product again if I had too.

This was my heart’s desire. I like the sound (and feel) of the 10 inch much better than the 12. I think the 10 has a tighter, cleaner sound. My friend has the 12 and it is not as clean to me. The audio person I spoke with is really into technology and he too suggested the 10. His also said, if I don’t feel that I have enough base, add another one later. Sold. I searched the net and found one of these out west for 299. When it went on sale at BestBuy (on-line) for 329, I asked the local store to match it. They did. About 2 weeks later the store was selling them for 250. I did not have my receipt but went to the customer service counter anyway. The very friendly (smiling) clerk looked up my purchase and credited me the difference right away. This was great yet unexpected.

I just upgrade from an old Cerwin Vega LW-12 Home Theater sub, and wow what a huge difference. This sub is worth the money. I own the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 THX Computer speakers and stand by the name. Klipsch makes great products. The first thing I noticed is how good this speaker sounds. At low volumes you can still hear the bass unlike other subs out there. My Cerwin Vega was horrible at reproducing sound a low volumes. This sub also hits the bass notes tight. Most low to mid end subs have problems with washy bass notes, but this sub hits the note and keeps on going.. I got this sub on Black Friday of 07 and its worth every penny.. Go buy one, trust me you will love it! Now just to get the matching speaker set...

I purchased this sub at my local Best Buy store and never regretted buying one since! This sub compliments my home theatre system beautifully. I love the fact that you can listen to a live concert and feel the deep presence of the kick drum and the bass guitar and such. Also, I love how the sub gives that real cinema feel while watching any type of movie (especially action films). I would love to thank the man who helped me make my decision at Best Buy. He hyped that powered subwoofer up so much, then showed me a demonstration in the store. I am still wowing all the guests that come and watch movies and concerts with this subwoofer. Excellent product and I definitely recommend this to any audiophile like myself! Peace and God bless!

I have had this sub for quite a while now and it does a good job with movies but gets a little muddy with music.I play bass and it bothers me but for someone who isn't concentrating on the music as I do it might not be a problem.I watched Gladiator last night and it was awesome,it has nore than enough power for my living room and will move things off shelves and walk across the floor if you let it. I read the reviews about the amps but I haven't had any problems at all.The only reason for the 4 stars with sound is the music issue I have.I have it hooked to an Onkyo receiver wth Bose 301's and a Samsung 50 inch plasma through DirecTv HD Awesome!!!!!I'm thinking about getting another one for the other side of the room.

Once I head this at Best Buy I had to have it. Remember that you will have to purchase the Subwoofer cable separate. I got the Monster cable brand always reliable. I paried this with the Klipsch Quintent system which relpaced my old Bose system. This Subwoofer blows the doors off of the Bose bass module and it is cheaper all together. I recommend getting the warranty from Best Buy. Klipsch gives you a 5 year warranty on the speakers with the 4 year warranty this will give my a 9 year warranty(enough to save some money for a future speaker system if needed). I also liked that I can put this on Auto and once bass sound is transmitted from receiver it will turn on the subwoofer. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
