I had been looking at entertainment systems for my tv room that sounded good, looked good, was simple to set up, and didn't have 200 foot of wire to deal with. Everytime I visited Best Buy, I would see this system and press the demo button. I was always amazed by the full sound that this system produced, and the volume that the speakers could handle. I had owned a BOSE 3-2-1 system in the past, and was never happy with it; the Bose head unit was always giving problems. After doing some research on the history of Klipsch, I became more comfortable with the idea of owning the CS-700 system. Finally, I took a few hours to go and listen to several systems; 5.1, 7.1, and the 2.1 systems. Yes the 5.1 and 7.1 systems give a better "surround sound". But when it came to overall clarity, nothing could touch the Klipsch system. While it was on sale, I decided to buy it, and bring it home and try it out in my room, with the understanding that I could return it if it didn't live up to my expectations. After unpacking the unit, I had it setup ready to go in 15 minutes. The setup is about as simple as it gets. I popped in a dvd with alot of sound effects and explosions just to get an idea of what I could expect while watching a movie. The sound was awesome. It isn't a complete "surround" experience, but the clarity more than makes up for it. One thing I noticed right away is how clear the speaking parts are in a movie. A lot of times in a 5.1 system, the voice tracks kind of get lost behind other sounds that may be going on in the movie. Not with this system. Next I put in a music cd. That is when the system really came to life. The high, the lows, and the bass tracks were all right on the money. You can't get that sound quality with your typical HTIB system. The Klipsch CS-700 will smoke any of the Bose 3-2-1 systems on the market today. I hope/wish that Klipsch would come out with a pair of wireless rear speakers that would enable you to upgrade the system to a true 5.1 system. If it had wireless rear surrounds, this system would be the "king" of home theater systems.

This system looks great and sounds pretty good but it lacks the real crisp high notes. I have an old Sony 5.1 and the 2 front speakers sound better when listening to music but when watching a movie this system does perform well. My main gripe is the actual receiver, it is slow when switching between DVD-Sat-Tv etc.. and locks up occasionally so then you have to unplug it for a few seconds to reset it. The sub sounds pretty good but when powered off it makes a thumping noise and you have to turn it off and on to get it to stop. All in all it does out perform the Bose 3.2.1 in volume but for all the trouble its just not worth it and the quality of the product and sound is better w/ the bose. If it was not already mounted and wires run through my fireplace I would return it for the Bose.

    Klipsch CS-700 rocks!

I bought this about a week ago and compared it side-by-side with BOSE 3-2-1 Series III system. Klipsch is simply in a different league. Rich sound, good bass, etc. BOSE sounded tinny in comparison and no base whatsoever. It took me all of 15 minutes to set this up and begin playing DVDs. I re-programmed my Logitech Harmony remote and was able to control this device fully. I didn't even have to unpack its native remote. The wireless sub-woofer connection is a great bonus. I moved the location of the sub-woofer around in the family room where this system is being used and located it in the 'ideal' spot that provided the best listening on the couch. I would highly recommend this system over BOSE. Those that are shopping around for a top notch 2.1 system, look no more.

    It's Not All That Bad

I wanted to have a system on my fireplace mantle that I did not have to dig into the sheet rock to hide the wires for the sub so this system was perfect for me. I listened to the display at Best Buy and liked, not loved, what I heard. With the limited amount of wireless systems, the Klipsch seemed the best. The sound is nice and assembly was a breeze. I wish I had more control over the bass, treble, and mids. I also wish the remote was a little easier to program and use. Also, Klipsch doesn't have a code for my Comcast HD box (I was told this by Klipsch support) which seems odd. Finally, I wish it had the capabilities for expanding to 5.1. I do like the way it sounds overall and until someone makes an affordable 5.1 totally wireless system, this will do nicely.

The last tome I owned a Klipsch product was in collage. They were good rock and roll speakers. That was in the 80's. Fast forward to now. Maybe my ears are not as good as they were but this little Klipsch system sounds very harsh and far too bright. Also the image quality from the DVD is subpar. I think by purchasing seperates you can get much better performance. When I return this I will go for a Yamaha receiver (2 channel mode) Polk speakers and a Sony or Samsung Bluray Player for about the same money but I'm sure better in every respect. Don't waste your mony. If this was $500 or $600 maybe but at the current price.....no way!

I`ve owned this unit for a little over 2 months and love it! The sound quality is remarkable, and the picture quality is great. You can literally unpack it and have it hooked up in about 15 minutes. The price is a little steep, but after comparing to the Bose 3-2-1 there wasn`t any doubt the Klipsch was the better product. We watched Transformers the other night and the sound was so good that there were moments when the bass sounded like it was going to bring the roof down. The only complaint I have ,besides cost,is the remote could be a little better. However this minor compared to the quality you recieve.

    Klipsch CS-700 - THE best 2.1 ever!!!!

This is by far the best 2.1 system made. The Virtual Surround gives you the feeling of being in the movie. I tested it out with the Transformers in Blu-ray. during some of the action/gun-fire scenes and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. From the clanking of steel on the pavement to gunfire/tank fire, everything was clear, crisp and separated. Did I mention LOUD? The more power you give it the more the speakers sing and the sub-woofer rumbles. The only draw back is the DVD player is not a Blu-ray. That said it up-converts beautifully and is easily connected to my Blu-ray and TV. 5 stars!

    Best 2.1 System out!!

This is by far the best 2.1 home theater system in the market. Klipsch is a leader in sound quality and I recommend it to anybody looking for a 2 speaker system. The CS-700 by far blows all the Bose 321 systems out the water, sure those are pretty good but are no comparison to Klipsch. The only downfall to the system is price! It is pretty expensive to the rest of the competion. I got mines with a price match that best buy did for me when another retailer had it for $899(originally $1299). If you can get it for less than a $1000 than go for it especially when the Bose 321 retails for $1000.

    Beyond Expectation

I don't understand the other comments in the other reviews, this system buries my Bose 321 and there's no wires to connect the subwoofer. I was purchased this based upon the in store demo however the wireless capability is awesome, I bought 3 roomgrooves and instead of having to pay to have speakers and wire dropped I instantly have a whole home audio system in minutes. it took less than an hour to have audio in four rooms of my home with no interference! I cannot recommend this enough, it sounds like a big theater system but is small and the wife approves...win, win.

LOTS OF PROBLEMS, THIS IS MY THIRD REPLACEMENT!

The remote control is a poor design and doesn't work most of the time. My first unit's display went out and stopped working completely in 4 months. So, I got a new unit and the sub stopped working on that one. On both systems the remote did not function correctly after a couple of weeks. Do not get this equipment. It is no doubt the best sounding 2.1 system out there but not worth the headache or price.

I was expecting more. The overall package looks good on paper. System has good highs and low but not that impressive. No mids what-so-ever. Crummy remote design. You are better off getting a 5.1 system and using just the right and left channel and sub for a lot less. Cosmetics are a little on the cheap side.

I bought the Kilpsch because it sounded so good at the store, and it dose when its working. I've had my unit in for repairs three different times. All because the subwoofer stops working. For the money I spent I'm sure if I looked around more I would have found a system just as good without the problems.

You can do much better for the money that is asked for this product. The concept is great but it just does not sound that good for the price. I returned this and got a Bose system instead. Has better sepration and fill the room better then the Klipsch did.
