    Distortion overload on streaming

Wanted to upgrade to an Atmos system. I have used Klipsch products in the past and always enjoyed them. This sub put out a very good kick. And the bar sounds good. Until it doesn't. Streaming from some apps sounded plain awful. Played with the app settings and changed the HDMI cable. Same issue. Attached to another TV. Same distortion. Don't know if it was defective or not. But as it sounds great on some streaming service and awful on others. I doubt it is a defect. Just poor quality. Returned it and bought another brand. Other brand has no issues. Eliminating that it was a tv issue.

It tends to bug out a lot giving a loud static sound, normally I just turn it off and on and it works after (though sometimes it continues), otherwise sounds pretty good.

Since it's from Klipsch I expected it to sound good, and it does. So I'll start right there. Absolutely high quality sound. Since I have AVRs on my two primary TVs, I decided to put this on a Vizio 40" 4K TV in the guest bedroom. This unit is a little wide for a screen that size, but not excessively so. I got my first impression bringing the box in from the front porch. This thing is hefty, again as I would expect from a quality product. While the subwoofer is a significant part of the total weight, the sound bar itself is hefty as well. Setup was simple, as one would expect for a simple sound bar. It has no HDMI inputs, so no other devices connect directly to it. I simply connected the included HDMI cable to the eARC port of the TV, plugged in the wireless dongle for the sub, and connected both it and the sub to power. No pairing was required for the sub, as it automatically connected to the bar. Once connected, I tried a few of my movies out, streaming from my home server using an Nvidia Shield as the source. While I didn't spend a lot of time testing the different audio codecs, all of my content sounded almost as good as my full 5.1/5.1.2 AVR systems. I would never expect the surround channels to match discrete speakers, it still sounded very good. I think it even processed some Atmos audio tracks, which would be impressive since all of my media are ripped Blu Ray discs with trueHD/Atmos audio. The system is officially a 3.1.2 system, so any surround I was getting came from the Atmos speakers. It came with brackets for wall mounting, but my TV sits on a table and I placed the sound bar directly in front of and below the TV. The remote covers power, volume, a couple of buttons that may control the player through HDMI-CEC, inputs (it accepts an optical connection as well as HDMI-ARC), a few sound modes, and adjusting the subwoofer level. The front of the sound bar has an array of LEDs behind the grille cloth that show volume level, along with a few other settings when you toggle through them with the remote. The lights only stay on for a few moments, then there's no light coming from the system at all to interfere with what you're watching. The sub does have a power light, but it most likely will be installed out of direct sight when watching the screen. What this display does not do is indicate any sort of info on the audio being played. I have seen some sound bars that will show Dolby Digital, DTS, PCM, and/or Atmos on some sort of display, and that's really the only thing I would have liked to see here. Looking at the manual it does appear to have some sort of decoding display, but I could never seem to get it to display. Might have been me. There is also an app, which I installed on my iPhone 16. While it does allow all the same functions as the remote, I didn't see anything additional the app offers over the remote, except for being able to update the firmware of the sound bar. This might have been a good place to display the incoming audio information, but no such luck. The manual is just pictograms, with no real text to explain things. From some of the images one might think rear surround speakers could be paired with it, but I can find nothing that says it's possible. I think that's a more expensive version. Please don't take my little nit-picks to mean I'm unhappy with this. It has great sound, as expected from the Klipsch name. I grew up in the 60s-'70s when Klipsch was really making a name for themselves, and I'm glad to see they are still the quality product they have always been.

Klipsch fan boy - this unit does not disappoint

I've been a Klipsch fan for many years with a traditional Klipsch surround sound setup in the main TV area. I got this unit for a simpler setup in another TV viewing area in the house and am very happy with it. For starters, this is a substantial unit with a very broad base of sound coming from a load of speakers within the soundbar. The range of sound is very good, from highs to lows and everything in between. Spoken word is also very clear and very balanced with this unit. The unboxing and setup is very intuitive and easy. Just plug the power into the soundbar and to the subwoofer, insert the USB into the soundbar, and then press the wireless connect button on the soundbar and the subwoofer to pair the units. Plugging a single HDMI cable into the HDMI / ARC port on the TV makes quick work of the setup. The TV remote is now set up to control the volume on this unit. Compared to many other units that have a plastic or glossy appearance, this is also a very nice looking unit with warm dark wood tones. I definitely recommend this unit!

    Awesome little soundbar!

We now have a soundbar on every indoor television at our home, which has been really nice because no matter where we decide to have movie night we can have a soundbar. This one is of course a 3.1.2 but the others are each 5.1 soundbars. That said, I will be actively looking into getting the Surr 100 or Surr 200 for this system because I truly love how crisp, clear, & overall great these sound. Unboxing/Packaging The box for this soundbar was absolutely massive because they shipped it in a box to hide it's contents, which I am appreciative of, but even just the box itself for the soundbar is pretty massive. Luckily we have 3 recycling carts here at the house and so it made getting rid of all the cardboard fairly easy for us. The system was put together nicely in the box, and when unpacking it I could tell this was definitely a high end soundbar system. It came with all the needed cabling (power & HDMI) as well as batteries for the remote. Rating 5/5 Setup Getting the Flexus Core 210 plugged in & setup was an absolute breeze if you've ever installed a soundbar/electronics before. The wireless dongle for the subwoofer was nice & the system paired on the first attempt. This was a welcome thing for me because I was trying to get this setup before we had a movie night that same night. I had this system plugged in, synced together & was testing the system in less than 5 minutes. Rating 5/5 Initial Sound Testing I fired up the TV and did some testing with a Surround Sound test audio & videos that I have on the media player. The soundbar sounded clear during the spoken portions of the test & the scene that plays (car racing, followed by a fighter jet, followed by a helicopter) made things sound life-like and like everything was directly in the room with me. The subwoofer packed a punch. I was very impressed. The subwoofer is rather large and at first I had it firing into the back of the sofa but ended up setting it on it's back (with the legs) on the ground and firing upwards towards the basement ceiling. Even with concrete & brick walls as well as the wooden flooring ceiling (because it is in the basement) the system sounded phenomenal. We plan to turn our basement into our movie theater area & I think this system will do wonderfully well once I am able to get the Surr 100 or Surr 200 surround speakers for this system (just waiting to get them for a deal basically). I decided to then test some stand up from YouTube because we watch things like that sometimes & the dialogue was crisp, clear, and I could make it out nicely. And for someone who always turns on the subtitles/closed captioning this was nice for me. I still turned it on but I could make out what was being said easily. Nice plus for me! Rating 5/5 Movie Testing We decided we were going to watch Top Gun and test out the soundbar to see how things sounded. Again, the dialogue was crisp & clear; the singing portions sounded like we were there; and the action scenes were great. The subwoofer hit nicely during those action scenes. All of us loved it. Rating 5/5 Conclusion Knowing this system is only a 3.1.2 but that it can be expanded to a 5.1.2 or even a 5.1.4 (I think that's what it is at least with another Flexus sub plugged in) is really awesome. It is one of the reasons I really wanted to try this system. Because our couch & movie area is so large it could really use two subwoofers and this soundbar system allows me to do just that very easily-and that is something I will be doing in the very near future for us because I want us to really feel like we are there in the scene. And this system almost does it out of the box, I am confident once I add the wireless Surround Sound speakers, and the additional Sub that we will have the ultimate home theater setup. Total Rating: 20/20

Actually, 4.5 stars--my spouse and I disagreed about the rating; he says 5 stars and I say 4, so take it as you will. Short version: This is a very nice soundbar and subwoofer combo. The soundbar projects a lot of sound and the subwoofer is an ample thumper. I cannot really imagine how big of a room you’d actually need to want to turn this unit up to a high volume setting. To me, the sound was almost unbearably loud by halfway. Setup is simple for everyday use, and the options are reasonable. I did not have any real issues with delay, minus one sports broadcast that seemed to have some noticeable delay. That may have been the delivery mode—I believe it was on a streaming service and that may have been the problem. The sound imperfections come in the mid-range tones, especially at lower volumes. Sound quality is not as good without the subwoofer. Positioning does matter (figure out where to sit in front of the speakerbar for optimal sound, and don’t block it!), which is both a testament to the directional force and stereo separation on the unit, but also can be a little less ideal in some ways in every day life. Having a real remote is definitely a plus, however certain features are only available through the app (like equalizer control). The app is…laggy…and leaves a lot to be desired, but it does work. Longer version: Install: As with most soundbars, the Klipsch unit is intended to be used on its own, directly with your tv setup. It is basically just plug and play, and you’re ready to go. It uses HDMI and optical cable for hookup, which is pretty typical. The subwoofer can be wired to the speakerbar or it can communicate with it through a Bluetooth adapter. I tried both options and both work, and I didn’t notice any delay issues with using Bluetooth. (That would be a lot less noticeable with a subwoofer than with other speakers, I would think though.) Additionally, more surround speakers could be added to the setup if you chose to get them. This could definitely round out the sound and give more of a full surround experience. You will not be able to easily use the bar and woofer with other speakers, so do consider this before you buy. If you want a simple setup that is keyed off the TV and can work directly out of the box, this is a good unit to choose. On a sidenote, I have used other, cheaper soundbars and found much to be desired. The hookups seemed inconsistent and communication with the TV was glitchy. On top of that, the sound was better but nothing all that special with these lower priced models. In the end I rarely bothered with previous audio devices because they were more trouble than they were worth. By comparison, I really like the Klipsch and it *works*. Use: The sound output is impressive, as I stated in my short review above. There are built in settings for music, movie, and dialog. I admit when using the bar just with the TV, I mostly wanted dialog. At times, the mix felt off a bit, which may have to do with the input, but sometimes even with these settings it seemed like the background and especially low tones could drown out the voices somewhat. Mostly, however, I liked having the extra depth and dynamism to the sound. This soundbar excels, though, when the sound is turned up to at least a middle range. At all ranges, I find the sound to be improved a lot by the subwoofer, which helps isolate the low sounds and also gives serious resonance. When the sound is up, it certainly more than fills the room and possibly fills my neighbors’ houses too. (The built in option for “night mode” is a good thing to have—this setting will dampen the sound when you’re listening later in the evening so that it’s not as likely to go through walls and annoy your neighbors.) At lower settings, the output sometimes sounds a bit muffled. This was a bit of a letdown to me, as I was hoping for better fidelity at this lower range. For reference, I’m talking about a volume setting that registers on the soundbar at under 16 or so, which I guess is pretty low. I am a bit sensitive to loud tv, and I have had some difficulty finding a sweet spot where the sound seems crisp and good but it’s not deafening to me. Now, this reaction is a little bit different when our furnace comes on and the blower makes a good bit of noise. It’s nice to have the more powerful sound in this case. As I mentioned above, I feel like this unit has muddled tone separation on the mid to high end of the audio range. This is especially noticeable listening to music. I found that I wanted have the Klipsch app running when listening to music because I can adjust the eq via custom in the app. I found the presets available in the app for the equalizer, however, did not really improve the music sound and in fact tended to make music—particularly rock or pop with vocals—sound more muddied. Custom setting helped with that. The quality of input certainly matters here, though, and because I was streaming music off my phone to test this setting, I will add a grain of salt to this complaint. Bluetooth and the App: The soundbar can be used right out of the box with good results. It has a real remote and you can control a lot without having to deal with the app. But, if you want more capability, you can download the app and have a range of new options, including the customizations I mentioned above (eq, night mode, etc.). Your app also lets you use your phone like a remote, so you can adjust volume, etc. if you can’t find the stupid remote. The app itself, however, is frustrating because it is SLOOOOOW. Additionally, you can connect other devices to the soundbar via Bluetooth, so you can stream music or radio into the speaker and improve your listening experience. This was super simple with my phone, and it connected perfectly. My computer, however, hates the soundbar, but my computer also hates my other Bluetooth speakers. Pretty sure that’s not the Klipsch’s fault. However, there might be some issues with the pairing mode—because the computer did not want to connect I couldn’t really test the soundbar was being proprietary about whatever Bluetooth it first connected with. Regardless, even when I turned my phone Bluetooth off, my computer struggled to connect. I think this is still the computer or user error more than the soundbar being at fault.

Klipsch has always been held to very high regard in the stereo and audio community and for good reason. Their quality has always been the absolute standard for the average consumer as well as audiophiles, and this Flexus CORE 210 is no different. I have been constantly impressed by this model from the moment I opened the box. This unit is such a beast compared to any other soundbar+subwoofer combination I have experience with. The set is so heavy and feels so elegant compared to base model sets from other brands. The quality gives it a furniture-like feel with the textured metal grills over the speaker, as well as the fabric areas, but especially the faux wood grain vinyl. I absolutely love that addition and feel like it matches many living room furniture pieces that are popular now. This soundbar and subwoofer set was very easy to set up, and this was the first set that I’ve been able to use an app with, and the app works great. I love how user friendly it is to use and make adjustments to the settings compared to a remote. I also really like the hidden “screen” for text that is behind the mesh fabric front, it does not take away from the design but helps to make the speaker even more user friendly and enjoyable to use. Though this combo set scores very high when it comes to build quality and design, it also scores just as high if not higher when it comes to the audio quality. My dad is a huge audiophile with a store sized collection of vintage audio equipment and speakers and he has never had a nice thing to say about a modern speaker I have brought into this house until now. As soon as he heard the brand name Klipsch his ears perked up and gave me a history lesson on how good Klipsch is known to be. Once we set it up and started playing music and also watched a movie with it, he was blown away. He and I had zero complaints on the sound quality. It was warm but crisp, and the base in the subwoofer was so complimentary to the sound. I now play music from this speaker any chance I get because I absolutely love listening to it. Although the price tag on this combo set is intimidating compared to other sets out there, I promise you the quality difference is worth it. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone who cares about how they consume media in their household.

The first thing I noticed when I received this soundbar, was the weight of the package. It's got some heft to it. During the unboxing, I was really impressed by the design. Klipsch went above and beyond the standard black casing. The texture of the fabric, the ebony wood top panel, and even the Klipsch emblems are top notch. I really like the length of the Flexus soundbar. It matches up nicely with 55" inch tvs and larger. I don't care for the puny look of other small soundbars. When powered up the first time I noticed the large display, great choice! I'm a person that likes to be able to see info from my soundbar easily. Tiny displays, a line of dots, or a white light that move from one side to the other don't make sense to me. Having the numerical volume number displayed or the input I'm on is a must. Gets rid of any guessing. There is an app to download to easily control more aspects of the Flexus and it's Bluetooth, no wifi hook up needed! Now the sound. Having the Klipsch name, it should sound good, and it does. By itself it has great sound. With all the front facing and up firing speakers as well as built in subwoofers, it provides room filling, robust sound. Then if you add the wireless sub to the mix, it's next level. The 10 inch size is soo much better then the small 5-6 inch subs on others. The movies and any music sound wonderful. The sub and soundbar work so perfect together. If you have a bigger room, they do offer wireless surround speakers to add on. The built in surround sound works great for me. I did have an issue pairing the Flexus bar with my Firestick TV remote. The ir function isn't enabled out of the box (Bluetooth remote) but putting the soundbar into installer mode fixed that. Call support (there's real people there!) they tell you how to do it. I'm thrilled with this Klipsch Flexus Soundbar!
