Everything about this Soundbar is top notch. The overall build is high quality, and it looks great with or without the mesh covers. Visually, it's VERY sexy. Setup is a snap, ( HUGE kudos to Klipsch for including an optical cable...saved me another 30 bucks at checkout), and unlike the one negative review, I have it set up next to a wireless router....no problems at all with connectivity. It synced right up. It actually synced with my Directv remote without having to do any type of programming (I already have the remote synced to my TV, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it). Simple plug and play. The sound. Phenomenal. Outstanding. Crystal clear. Klipsch has incorporated their horn loaded technology, which basically eliminates distortion when you CRANK the volume up to max. The highs are bright, accurate, and not tinny in the least bit. Full rich reproduction in the midrange. The subwoofer POUNDS. Musically, it's punchy when you have any kind of kick drums, very tight if you have an upright bass plucking along, and when it comes to hip hop/rap/r&b, it THUMPS. In terms of watching movies/TV/Sports, I'm blown away. Just bought the new Dark Knight, and man oh man did this setup deliver. You can FEEL the explosions. Gunfire is electric. The musical score sounds flawless. Speech is crystal clear (bane's voice is creepy as hell). Everything seems to pop and shine where it needs to. For everyday television, and sports, this soundbar is wonderful as well. ANYTHING is better than your TV's stock speakers, but the Klipsch setup really augments and enhances even the most mundane tv shows. Having a full spectrum of sound can make even spongebob squarepants or ink master come alive. I'm a huge Broncos fan, so watching the game last weekend, I was very impressed with how much MORE there was when a bone crushing hit was delivered. It's just....fuller. More full. You're immersed in sound. Just to give you a little background...i spent about 2 and a half hours at best buy, going back and forth between EVERY setup they had. This, to me, is the best bang for the buck. I got it for $100 off the selling price, and also had a $100 gift card, so it was closer to $400. AFTER HAVING IT FOR TWO WEEKS, I WOULD GLADLY PAY FULL PRICE! Let me make that clear. For someone that didn't want to spend a couple grand on a super nice surround setup (I live in an apartment, AND I don't have an extra couple grand haha), this is the best solution in my opinion. The Sony and Polk soundbars sounded decent, but nothing seemed to match the clarity, overall richness/fullness, and volume that the Klipsch provides. OH, and don't be fooled, you can CRAAAAAAANK the volume on this thing. I don't know how the store has it set up, but I was hesitant because it wasn't as loud as I wanted it to be. Once I got it home and connected the optical cable...BOOM. Loud as you want it to be (with no distortion). Let me finish with my TWO small gripes about this glorious setup. It doesn't have bluetooth capability. It DOES have RCA outputs in the back, so if you were looking to bring in music from an outside source, you could do it one of two ways. Get an RCA to 3.5mm adapter, OR link your TV up to your computer via a wifi network/ps3/sharing system. Essentially, I knew going in that it DIDNT have it, and it's really not a big deal. Secondly, the 3D surround feature. Yes, it helps... a little. BUT, this system wasn't made to recreate a full on 7.1 surround feel. No soundbars can match that experience. The 3D sound basically adds a little more depth, and gives you those moments where you can hear a car moving from left to right, some different voice placement, etc etc. To summarize, I absolutely LOVE this soundbar. I would (and do) recommend it to anyone looking for that extra oomph, the music lovers, the movie lovers...basically anyone who's not looking to break the bank on a surround setup. It's a high powered eargasm waiting for you. Five stars.

As good as Bose, but with a better price

After looking at the Bose Cinemate SR1, Boston TVee 25, and even some of the higher end Yamaha sound bars, I decided on the Klipsch SB1. I wish Best Buy carried the Klipsch SB3, but that is only a little more more in power anyway. I am still extremely happy with the Klipsch SB1. After selling a home with a surround sounds system and temporarily renting, I needed something to get by. Well after getting this Klipsch I was shocked at how good the sound was and am very happy. Even 5.1 sound from movies is not to bad. I mean I would say 80% or more of the sound is voice anyway. I am not saying this sound bar does not sound bad, and in fact it still sounds pretty amazing for any 5.1 sound. I would highly recommend this sound bar. Another note is the amazing warranty, it is 5 years. Every other sound bar is 1 year, maybe 2, including the expensive Bose. The quality is great, solid design, and the sub woofer is big and has lots of bass. This is no wimpy sound system. I love it.

    Excellent soundbar system

    Posted .

First I will say that I worked in the consumer electronics industry for about 5 years. I sold, set up/installed many home theater systems and have owned countless systems. This is an outstanding soundbar system. Are there better ones? yes, but you will pay two, three or more times the price and once you are spending that much, you should just buy seperates and go with a true theater set up. I would not not use this or any soundbar setup as a "home theater/media room" choice as a discerning consumer, but to use in a living room or if you just want loud, crisp and clean sounds with a full range for your theater, this is the way to go. The setup was so easy, even though I have experience, those with none will find it easy. I love the wireless sub, it allows me to place it anywhere in my living room without having to run any wires. The sound is crisp and clear through all ranges. It is less "comfortable" at very low volumes, but any sound system is until you start investing thousands into high power amplifier/receiver systems. Bottom line is I researched and looked A LOT before buying this for my living room (I am using with a 60" Samsung HD/3D) and once I turned this on I was immediately satisfied. Some will complain about not having more adjustability, but a soundbar should be a "fixed" system, if you need/want tunabilty and are that picky, a soundbar is not for you.

    Sound Bar w/ Serious Power

    Posted .

Went to a local Best Buy store as a "window shopper" and came across a Samsung sound bar that was on sale. I was looking for sound bars because it was going in my bedroom (surround sound system would've been way too obtrusive). I listened to the Samsung, and it sounded pretty good. Then I came across this, and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Yes, the price was more...but you do get way better sound for the price. While it isn't a 5.1 type system, this system definitely will suffice. For the wireless sub, I made sure that there was line of sight between the sound bar and the sub. The sound is really good, and it complements my Samsung LED TV I bought several months back. I'm extremely happy with my purchase, and I would highly recommend it. One thing I would recommend getting because I did not see it in the box is a CR2025 battery if you intend on using the remote included. You do not have to use the remote, however, because almost any remote can be used with the system. Just follow the instructions, and you should be set.

One of the best soundbars you can buy

    Posted .

My best advice is go to your Best Buy and test out the soundbars. I'd be surprised if this Klipsch doesn't blow away all the other models (incl the $599.99 Harman Kardon). I went in just to look around as I am upgrading my home theater stuff in 2 rooms. I wasn't sure if I wanted a soundbar, but this Klipsch made the decision easy. You get incredible quality, while keeping the mess of wires to a minimum, which made my sig other very happy. A purist will find fault with these, but for most people this is a great way to de-clutter your TV/receiver/speakers mess and still get great quality. By going this way, I have removed the receiver from my setup as it's not needed anymore so that's one less thing -- one less remote, a lot less wires, etc. Just make sure your TV has enough inputs if you plan to remove your receiver. I got these at $499.99 with a $100 sale Best Buy had and that was a great price as I was very close to getting the Zvox 580, which is also $499.99. That is another nice system, but I think the Klipsch surpasses that probably due to a separate subwoofer (the Zvox does not have a separate sub). If you want good quality sound while de-cluttering your setup, this soundbar needs to be a consideration.

To even a casual listener sound quality, clarity and amp is amazing. Sub box must be subliminal as can barely tell it's on, but it works. Anyone who has the opportunity to use in home will never listen to reg tv system again.

    Glad I changed my mind...

I was about to purchase the Samsung Crystal sound sound bar to marry it up with my amazing 60" Samsung SmartTV. I sifted through the reviews of all the sound bars before heading to the store just to be sure I was making a good choice. I came across the reviews on the Klipsh SB1, a company I never heard of. I went to the store and cranked one up, and it blew me away. Evidently Klipsh has been making speakers since 1946. The Samsung sound bar had excellent sound, but this was a big step up in sound quality. The bar has fewer bells and whistles than the Samsung such as Bluetooth, hdmi inputs, but the sound quality is amazing for so few components. All I wanted was a simple extension to the audio on my tv so the easier the better. My hookup is optical from the Samsung tv to the sound bar, and it worked right out of the box no problem, paired with the subwoofer, and it understood my Samsung tv remote as well without having to program. You can't get an easier setup. Buy this one...

    Can't go wrong with klipsch

This sound bar makes the world of a difference, it's not 5.1 by any means but if you're that worried about it, buy the quintets and a reciever for a few bucks more. Easy to set up, sounds like a dream, and you can get aftermarket Bluetooth adapters for 25 bucks. Don't let that defer you from getting this sound bar. The clarity is superior to most others on the market, especially for the price. My only complaint is volume level 1 is too quiet and level 2 is too loud. A step in the middle would have been nice, but honestly, it's still worth it and still gets my five stars. That's why I have klipsch headphones, a klipsch dock for my phone, quintets, and this sound bar. You just can't beat the sound quality for the value.

    Exceeded my expectations!

This sound bar replaced a 10-year old surround system that was decent at the time of purchase (no HDMI connections). It's installed in a great room - 30' x 18' open area with 12 ft ceilings and the acoustics aren't so good. We don't watch much TV in that room, so didn't feel the need to invest in a high-end system. I didn't initially want to spend more than $300 on a sound bar, but my first pick was nixed by the wife because of its appearance. She gave me the go-ahead on the Klipsch. I didn't have any space limitations on the woofer and the wireless feature is truly convenient. The sound control sync'ed up with the Cable remote in about 2 minutes. This system far exceeded my expectations for a sound bar. Wow, a big improvement over the old surround system.

    BOOM BOOM

There's a reason these Klipsch Sound Reviews tell potential consumers to spend the little extra $$...BECAUSE IT'S WORTH IT!! Being a perfectionist, I have pretty high standards when it comes to home entertainment quality. I had been contemplating purchasing the Samsung HW‑E550 for several months as the design and size was extremely attractive. However, the reviews were back and forth...some 5's and then some 2's, there was no real customer base consistency and that worried me. I started searching HIGHEST RATED and BAM this brand and model Klipsch kept popping up and was very highly rated across the board. I don't think I have ever been more satisfied with an electronics purchase in my entire life! The sound bar itself is loud and clear and reproduces great range. The wireless sub PUNCHES! The adjustable base knob in the back of the sub allows for complete control. I have mine set between the 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock and the vibrations from the rich bass are felt on the couch sitting 12 feet away. I can't imagine how powerful or deep if I'd set the dial to the 2-3 o'clock position. Like I said folks, a little spendy for my liking...but definitely worth it! I have a fairly open living room which bleeds right into the dining room and this setup is more than loud enough. Feels like we're at the movies - cheesy line I know...but this product backs up that sentence!! I gave the appearance a 4 out of 5 only because it couldn't be placed directly infront of my TV as the height of the soundbar is 4.5 inches so I had to put on a lower level of my tv-stand. I think they could have made it slightly sleeker? However, I could not ignore the positive reviews and am still overly thrilled with the purchase!

    Amazing Sound

    |
    Posted .

I think that this soundbar is amazing!! The sound that it provides easily competes with a surround sound system. The clarity of the dialogue during loud action packed scenes is impressive! I love this product and would recommend to others. The downside is that in order to turn the volume up or down you have to be sitting in front of the soundbar. If I sit to the side of it and try to use the remote it will not pick up the signal. Otherwise, this item is awesome!

    Awesome!!

I just bought this system today after researching everything under the sun for the last few months. Negative reviews on other products had me unsure about purchasing a soundbar system (I have a full Infinity surround sound system in my family room). I purchased this system for my Living Room...and let me tell you I am IMPRESSED. It litterally took 15-20 mins to set up start to finish. Sound is AMAZING. I was able to program it to my Verizon remote control which is definitely a plus. The great reviews and the 5 year warranty are what sold me on the system. The manufacturer stepping up and selling a system with a 5 year warranty tells me they must stand behind their product. Will a soundbar system ever sound better than a full size surround system? I doubt it. But let me tell you, you WILL be impressed. I would purchase this system again in a heartbeat, and if my full size surround system ever goes south, I will replace it with a Klipsch soundbar setup.

    Great sound for the price!

This soundbar makes watching TV on my flat screen amazing. I did not know that flat screen TVs have terrible speakers, but they do. Thankfully, this sound bar solved the problem. A few problems during setup... The power cord for the sound bar will stop working if you plug it into the wall without having it plugged into the sound bar (I think this is a safety feature). Also, when programming another remote, be sure to hold the remote ~ 2 inches from the sound bar--definitely closer than the recommended 1 foot. Any further away and the remote setup will not work properly.

I recently purchased a Sharp 70" and the salesperson recommended a sound bar. I tried to be cheap by purchasing a Samsung 2.1, BIG MISTAKE! I returned it for the Klipsch and this is certainly one of the best audio purchases I've ever made. The sound is terrific, DEEP BASS, and great mid range. If you are an avid home-movie buff or simply like to play concerts and/or sporting events on your big screen this is certainly the one. This would be an excellent addition to a home theater without drilling into the walls.

Great speakers for both music and movies!

    |
    Posted .

These speakers are amazing! Great sound quality. Has great high, mid, and lows. The subwoofer is legit. It's one of the few sound bar/subwoofer sets out there that actually has a real sub - which makes movies much more enjoyable. Some advice if you purchase this item - only use the '3D' sound mode for watching movies and select TV shows that have higher quality sound mixes (like Dolby Digital). But don't use the '3D' mode while listening to music. The few cons that I see: no blue tooth connectivity. But if you stream most of your media through Apple TV like I do then it's really not a problem at al. The other con is the volume control. It seem to jump to far when you press up or down. There should be more levels in turning it up or down. Not a huge deal most of the time but sometimes is annoying. Over all this is a great high end speaker set at a great price!

Have this hooked up to a 65" Sammy tv. Provides a great solution to a tv that lacks quality sound. Klipsch is known for its "horns," which are a higher/crisper sound that the average tweeter. If you don't like super crisp highs, don't get it. I was also very impressed with the wireless sub that comes with this set. Even at minimal volumes, the sub is still very effective. Wish this package could pump out a little more volume for totally rockin', but it is plenty loud for tv/movie/music use for 99.9% of the time.

    Great Soundbar

Bought this soundbar after checking out various soundbars in the store. We weren't looking to spend this much but the sound quality was worth the plunge. We didn't need a full surround sound system for our living room but this soundbar is certainly capable of reproducing the quality of a surround system. The soundbar was easy to set up and our cable remote synced up with the bar without programming. We highly recommend this soundbar to anyone in a similar situation (wanting surround sound quality without having to set up a full surround sound system).

    Excellent sound

I have a 60" Panasonic plasma that needed some help in the audio department. I was searching off and on for about a year. I wanted something better than the "theater in a box" set-up. Those speakers looked too small, sounded cheap, and I don't like to see wires. I liked the sound & look of the JBL soundbar, but the subwoofer looked like Darth Vaders helmet. Right before the holidays, I saw the advertisement for the Klipsch bar & sub. I went into the store which had one on display. I turned it up, and knew right away this was the one. The clarity in the large store was turning heads. Looking beefy, this soundbar is 40 inches long, 4 inches tall, in a nice black colour / black mesh. The sub is a black, tall, rectangular size which really throws a mean punch if you so desire. This set-up sounds truly awesome. My tv has an optical out, and Klipsch has included an optical cable with the package, as well as a red / white if needed. Through my HD digital cable receiver, ( HDMI to the tv ), I have also ran red / white audio out to an older Yamaha receiver auxillary input, which are connected to Bose 201 Series 4 speakers. They are located on stands on the sides of the tv. The Klipsch bar & sub sound awesome as is, throw in the Bose to complement and the audio sounds incredible. I do this for music / concert dvds. I feel like the guy on that old "Maxell" commercial. The music blowing my hair back. Thank you Klipsch!
