Got a klipsch bar 48? Then these surrounds are a must. I’ve read reviews where people say you can barely hear the effects and well it may be true out of the box but you can adjust the volume it shows how to do in the manual of the surrounds it goes 8 levels up and set mine to 3 because that’s where I found the right balance of front and rear and it sounds amazing. Also make sure your soundbar is updated to latest firmware too as that will also enable a better surround performance. Love the wood look and the 5.1 set up. This is a must have.

The Klipsch Surround 3 speakers are a great compliment to the Klipsch Bar 48. They are a small book shelf style speaker that are Bluetooth for connectivity. They are virtually wireless with exception for the power wire that is required to power the speaker’s internal amp and Bluetooth receiver.
They connect to the Bar 48 with an included Bluetooth transmitter that is connected to a USB socket at the end of the Bar 48 in a hidden compartment. The hardest part of the set up were the instructions which are a series of pictures with no written descriptions.
Once connected the sound was full and completed the 5.1 surround sound of the Klipsch Bar 48.
I would recommend these to anyone who purchases the Klipsch Bar 48 for a good 5.1 setup for a small room of those not wanting a traditional AVR based setup.

I tested these along with the Klipsch 3.1-Channel 440W Soundbar System. The virtual surround functionality of the soundbar is good on it's own, but then again, it's virtual, so to get the full 5.1 surround effect, these small speakers are a must.
As with with the soundbar and sub-woofer, when unboxing these speakers, the quality is clearly visible. Once again, Klipsch didn't skimp on materials, so the speakers feel very solid and well made. There's not really much to do as far as installation goes; you plug the small dongle that comes with the speakers into a port on on end of the the soundbar (under the right-side endcap), plug the speakers into outlets close to where you want them located, and then pair them with the soundbar. The nice thing about these speakers is that they're wireless, so you can place them almost anywhere as long as you can get power to them, which shouldn't be a problem in most scenarios. The whole setup took about 10-15mins.
Once everything was setup, the difference between the virtual surround as compared with the addition of these speakers was clear. The speakers seemed to mute some of the high-tone sound that was present when using the virtual setting. It wasn't an annoying amount, because I didn't notice it until I added these speakers, but there is definitely a difference... which you'd expect since you're adding two more speakers.
Overall, I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who already has the Klipsch 3.1-Channel 440W Soundbar or for anyone who is thinking about buying that soundbar and wants a true 5.1 sound.

My TCL Roku 55" Class 4K (2160P) Smart LED TV (55US57) has a fantastic picture but has poor audio, like with most budget HDTV’s, so a good soundbar is mandatory especially with movies and in my case, movies with the new DTS audio won’t even play from my media player (Generic Kodi Box). Vocals are hard to make out with lackluster soundtracks was something I just learned to get use to and after hearing incredible vivid sound from the Klipsch Bar 48 for the first time, can’t believe I waited so long before buying a decent soundbar.
Kilspch a high end speaker company which quality shows as soon as you open the box and see the well built soundbar and subwoofer, a lot heaver then some other brands like that I’ve encountered. Setup was fairly easy even though the instructions could have been better, I did have a hard time finding the subwoofer button mainly because the diagram instructions does not match the actual unit. Once pairing the sub then you need set up your HDTV which varies depending on model but will mention issues I had, the HDMI-CEC found the soundbar in auto settings and completely controlled it with the Roku remote, but did not use the latest Dolby. This cause my over the air antenna programming sound to be out of sync: selecting Dolby D+, DT under ARCS solved this issue. Crisp clear dynamic audio is what you get once running, both highs and lows, speaking of lows the bass is very robust and is adjustable as well.
Overall I would recommend this item as I’m a happy camper re-watching my favorite movies and shows as they are meant to be watch with good sound quality.

Excellent addition to the Bar 48

These are the matched set for the Klipsch BAR 48. Once paired wirelessly, they take the BAR from a 3.1 to a DTS 5.1 and automatically decodes dolby digital.
These compliment the BAR perfectly both in appearance and sound quality. The addition of these just doubled the sound and immersion into my movies now. Absolutely love the crispness and clarity.
They're rated at being 60 watt speakers. They each have a 3 in. driver and are in a sealed black hard wood housing. The only wire they have is the power wire which comes out of the back and is flush with the backside as pictured. I put mine on pedestals with a wide opening so that the wire is ran down inside the center and completely concealed.
Would definitely recommend these to others.

I really want to like these. They do sound great when I can get them both to pair and stay paired. I’m on my 2nd set. Klipsch support was great in sending me a replacement when one wouldn’t pair to my Klipsch Cinema 400 soundbar. New set paired great initially and sounded great. Left for the weekend and when I got back, I noticed one is doing the same thing as before. Shows paired but there’s no sound. I’ve repeated the pairing and trouble shooting steps multiple times and nothing. I guess I’ll be calling back into support when I get the chance. This would be a 5 all day if I didn’t have pairing issues.

A bit pricey, but they're Klipsch. You'll need the Cinema 600 or Bar 48 sound bar from Klipsch for it to work. Sound is good, adds 5.1 ch capability.

I am including the review of the Surround 3 speakers and the Klipsch Bar 48 together.
Unboxing – Klipsch Surround 3
You will receive the manuals, 2 speakers, 2 6ft DC power cords, 1 5Ghz transmitter, and 8 rubber feet for the bottom of the speaker. This is packaged well and efficiently.
Unboxing – Klipsch Bar 48 and Subwoofer
You will receive manuals, 1 soundbar (47 11/16in x 2 7/8 x 3 3/8in; 8.3 lbs), 1 subwoofer (11 7/8 x 16 1/8 x 16 1/8in; 15 lbs), 1 remote, 2 wall brackets with screws, 2 6ft DC power cords, 1 HDMI cable and 2 soundbar end caps (brown). There is also a template for installing the brackets on the wall. There is an optical cable in the picture but the manual states this does not come with the optical cable. This is very neatly packaged with the soundbar and subwoofer being in one package.
Set up
I did not mount the soundbar on the wall at this time. It is placed on top of a high dresser under the TV in a bedroom. I connected the HDMI ARC from the TV to the soundbar. Place the subwoofer and Surround 3 speakers in the desired location. Please note the provided power cords for the speakers are 6 feet long. So plan your speaker placement appropriately. As one of the images illustrates, you can connect the soundbar to HDMI (HDMI ARC allows for the usage of the TV remote to control the soundbar volume), optical, or analog (headphone jack). The setup was easy and the sub and surround speakers paired with the soundbar right away with no issues. You place the surround transmitter in the end of the surround speaker after removing the end cap. I did have some challenges with the remote I will discuss in a following section. The manual provides instruction to program other TV remotes to the soundbar. The fact that the sub and surround 3 speakers are wireless allows for a lot of flexibility in their placement.
Sound and usage
This combination sounds really great and is perfect for the bedroom I placed it in! I have this connected to an Insignia Fire TV. As stated in the manual, I disabled the TV speakers. I did not have to do anything special to use the TV remote for the soundbar. Everything just worked. The surround speakers turned on when the TV was turned on and I could control the volume. I went through the various setting to ensure I was finding the best experience for me. On top of the soundbar you have the power button, Bluetooth button and volume up and down. There are lights by the buttons to indicate the settings you have selected. These options are: SUR (virtual surround is on when lit), Dialog (enhances the center channel sound to emphasize speech when lit) and NIGHT (turns off the sub for night listening and has 3 setting for the light brightness). I used the sound system with TV (OTA), Netflix, Amazon Prime and VLC. I found the sub setting of +3 was the best for me. Using the virtual surround and Dialog disabled I found was the best overall setting. I do wish there was a way to adjust the surround 3 speaker volume as I thought it was a tad low. I also connected the sound system to my phone suing Bluetooth. It paired easily and worked as expected. Overall 5 stars on the sound quality! When the speakers are turned off, the blue pair light will blink for about 3 minutes (sub and surround speakers only).
Remote
You must use the remote for the sub volume, SUR, Dialog and Night settings. The TV remote controls the soundbar perfectly. So once I have the settings the way I want, I do not need the remote. However, I had some odd experiences and need to share them. It appears some soundbar remote commands triggered an undesirable response on the Insignia Fire TV. So here is a listing of the remote button and the corresponding action taken by the Fire TV:
Surround Remote > Fire TV
SUR > brings up the input screen and forces the input to be changed.
SUB + > open the quick menu or option menu. It does not do this for Netflix though.
VOL - > rewind 10 seconds for VLC, Prime and Netflix.
MUTE > Pause the show for VLC, Prime and Netflix.
This was extremely annoying! I believe this remote will spend almost all of its life in a drawer. In fact I used the remote to set up the sound system the way I like and removed the batteries.
Conclusion
Klipsch is one of the premier speaker manufacturers in the world. I expected a top quality sound and it delivers. The quality and construction is top notch. The sound is amazing for a reasonably sized room. I am not sure if this would be enough for a large room. The surround remote and Fire TV interaction nearly drove me crazy. If you do not use Fire TV, you do not care and it will be fine for you. You will enjoy the top quality sound from the sound system. The surround 3 speakers are a nice addition that completed the surround sound experience. The wireless speakers allow for flexible speaker placement. In summary I rate this 4 stars removing one star for the remote behavior.

Hooked up to my Klipsch cinema 600 sound bar. Connected immediately, Set volume to max and then just use the sur button on remote to tune up surround. I like they way they complement the soundbar background sounds. But be know that on regular tv you will need to set tv sound to pcm for best results.

Not what I was expecting from Klipsch. Right out of the box, one of the speakers was making crackling noises and randomly disconnecting from my bar. Very dissapointed since i was expecting this to be a great addition, but i cannot believe Klipsch has not fixed this known issue yet.

This issue may be attributed by wireless interference. Please make sure that there are no other wireless devices near these Surround 3 speakers (ie router, baby monitors, BT headphones, wifi extenders). You may also try taking the speaker to a different wall outlet or power strip, as this could be a grounding issue.
