This Klipsch system rocks! All ranges are covered very nicely by this system. Music comes across very rich and clear, the sub has no annoying buzz or rattle like lesser brands tend to. I bought an open box/ refurbished unit for a great price and I am very happy with the results!

    Audiophile Quality Computer Speakers

Klipsch has designed and delivered an amazing value for the money in these computer speakers. I can't imagine the sound quality being improved upon at any price -- from detailed nuance to window rattling bass they can do it all. Just awesome - they will put a huge indulgent smile on your face each time you listen to them.

Klipsch speakers at a resonable price

I work in animation, video and graphics and for the most part I am not concerned with audio as an element of my projects, but when my work does involve audio, these speakers definitely work well. I mainly use them to listen to iTunes while working, which for me is essential. They sound great and look really cool.

Amazing speakers to buy. Everything is nice about them. The only downside is the Subwoofer. It can't handle the power. I hooked a 12" sub up to mine and they sound amazing! Overall best speakers for the price, Klipsch has really done it! :-)

    Simply Awesome

Amongst much debate and after looking for these speakers I decided to buy a 2.1 setup instead of the 5.1 promedia. I can tell you that these speakers are simply awesome. The range and clarity are next to none in this price range. I listen to many different types of music, but perhaps the hardest for headphones and non-quality speakers to reproduce is Zoe Keating "Legions War" (try on I tunes, it is a solo cello act that uses only the instrument for the full range of the sound dynamic. This speaker setup plays it beautifully. I use my setup in a small home office so the sub sounds much larger than it is. I wouldn't recommend this setup to fill a huge room as it wasn't designed for that but seeing as how it has performed so far I wouldn't be surprised if it exceeded my expectations. The unit has a marking on the sub level for what it calls "optimum bass levels" which I usually keep it at unless it is late at night and I don't want to disturb my roommates. The bass is definitely substantial enough for hip hop/ rap if that is your preference. Overall this is an excellent setup and well worth the money.

I bought it only because I was dissatisfied with BOSE. It was a hundred dollars cheaper then BOSE and the sound is 100% better. Great price and sound, wow there still are bargains out there!

I bought these after I returned some $90 bose speakers that were just horrible. The bass on these are just incredible, i only need to turn the bass knob just a quarter of the way cuz its all the bass i need in my room. I would recommend these to anyone if you want some really good computer speakers for a good price.

Still a great speaker system despite its older design. Very easy plug and play and was probably pioneering for its time.

Buying online, I was not able to listen to Klipsch's competitors, so I can't say which are the best for the price (and with speakers, 'best' is relative as people's opinions on speakers are quite subjective#. But as someone who is an audio nut, I can say these sound quite good for the money. I'll also note the Klipsch's website list a 6.5" sub, but the manual lists an 8". However, based on the size of the box, I'm inclined to believe 6.5". If you want computer speakers that sound good for the money, go ahead and buy these. If you want to read my 'audiophile' nit picking, read on. My initial impressions are based on sitting close to the speakers, about 2' away, which I imagine is typical in a pc setup. The horn tweeters are too bright and over power the mids. The mids being small #3" drivers# leave a gap between themselves and sub. The sub is pleasant for it's size/price. Many cheap subs are "one note", this is a bit more diverse with punchy midbass and somewhat low response. Now for the surprise, move about 5' away from the speakers, and the sound blends together! The speakers go from 4 star to 5 star #for the price#. This would be great if you were watching a movie and sitting back from the monitor; unfortunately, that won't be the case for me.

Sound quality is great with deep bass. The price is a little high in the industry of computer speakers. The design looks a bit not state-of-the art... I would recommend if you have a huge screen and sits afar from it with wireless desktop.

I listened to all the computer speaks set up at the stores & this system by Klipsch had the best sound quailty by far than any of the others. They are fairly easy to install & I am very happy with my purchase. Can I just say I only have my computer volume on 4 out 100 and these things are loud, you don't need to turn your volume up very loud to get lots of sound. If I have the volume set at level 20 out of 100 they can be heard all over the house, sound carries very well with these. I am very impressed with these speakers. Good price, these speakers are way better than the Bose system & much cheaper. If your looking for high quality sound computer speakers or mp3 speakers then you will love these. Plus they have a 3 year warranty. No complaints about the system, I love it. I highly recommend it.

I tried a Logitech system first for 89.99. I wasn't satisfied with the bottom. I decided to spend a little more for this system. It blew me away. THIS IS IT! Don't go any farther.

Great sounding, just don't blast it obnoxiously.

This was my first set up I use for many purposes music, home theater, ect.. and it is a very nice system for the price. The mids and highs are very precise and clear it makes music sound as it is intended to be heard. Yet at 3" mid range drivers they do not get extremely loud like my car's 6x9's do but the sound quality is much higher so it compensates, don't misinterpret that either these get loud but don't blast as loud as larger speakers. The 6.5 inch subwoofer can deliver tight punchy bass or big long boom blast of bass both with good sound quality that brings new depth to music, it's only drawback is due to it's size it can't quite hit very deep notes as well as a 12" could and the bass isn't as loud. This subwoofer has knocked the clock off my wall to many times to count in a fairly large bedroom so don'y get me wrong it rocks your room but it isn't a 12". I am currently experiencing an issue with the voice coil though I have had this system for about a year and after all this time of blasting the subwoofer probably further than I should have taken it I can smell the coil burning if I put my nose to the port. I played "Lean" by Odd future far too loudly and the bass from that is ridiculous it hit each note perfectly and precisely but what I ended up with was a slightly burned coil so just watch how loud you keep the sub woofer. Overall this is a fantastic system good for a beginning set up of home theater or anyone who wants to upgrade their music system to something with a sub woofer, stop thinking about it and just buy it unless you want to buy the 5.1.

    Premium Sound, Small Package

I had the Harmon Kardon HK395 2.1 system and it was okay but, i wanted a powered system that could make me say "WOW". I had researched the web for a couple of months trying to find that "WOW" sound i was looking for. I have had Bose speakers and they were okay but i think it was the name "Bose" that made them more than they were. I had saw alot of positive reviews on the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system. I had also saw alot of complaints about the din connector failing. I don't have this problem but i would advise being careful when you put the push down on the spring connectors as they can pop out if you are not careful. Make no mistake, these speakers sound incredible!! I am a disabled Vet so when i spend money i have to be sure because i don't have much money. You will absolutely love these speakers!!!!!

a short in the volume dial

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

there is a problem with the main volume dial. seems to be a short that would not allow me to turn down the volume on both speakers, only the right speaker would turn down leaving the left at full blast. i got the 2 year warranty, so hopefully Klipsch will fix the problem in that 2 years. i returned the set, and am trying out my second pair., so far so good. excellent sounding system. if this unit burns out, i am buying the bose instead.
