Impressive sound from a small package. For a bit more money than the cheapo 2.1 systems the improvement in sound quality is super.
Coax jack inputs are a bit sloppy.

This is easily the best bang for your buck on a 2.1 sound system. Sure it costs a bit more than other brands but with Klipsch you know it means quality!

This is one amazing buy. You will not be disappointed. Sound is amazing. Good size for desktop speakers (or even for your TV if you want). I'm glad I got these instead of paying much more for Bose speakers. Whether you like quiet but good sound or want to make your ears rattle but sound great at highest volume (can make extremely loud), this system will be amazing for anything.

Just bought 2nd set 6 years after first

Bought my first set of these in the fall of 2007, sound has been excellent until just recently when my subwoofer blew... I don't quite understand how powered subwoofers can blow themselves, given that I almost never turned the bass passed half-way on the speaker-mounted dial, and never turned them up past level 6 out of ten on my desktop volume control.
But alrighty, they're awesome enough that I'm willing to buy another set. Here's to another long(?6yrs?) partnership. :)
If I'd been able to buy just a replacement subwoofer speaker, and install it in my current enclosure, I might've saved some money, and most of the resources, shipping and fuel costs that an entire new speaker set was needed. But here's to capitalistic consumerism, where everything is disposable, even if it mostly still works. :)

For the price these things are a steal!! My family have owned klipsch speakers and surround systems for a long time so I knew the quality would be good. I saw the price and didn't even hesitate! More than worth the money! If you want to actually LISTEN to your music or DVD your watching on your computer, these are IT! Just buy them! Its that easy....I haven't even been able to get it past the half way point on the volume control! Love them!

I agree with all the reviews. Good mids and highs, heavy bass that's slightly muddy but more than good enough for computer speakers, especially for the price.
Not sure if you will find a better sounding speaker system for the same cost or even up to $150.00 more. If you're looking for computer speakers, look and read no further. Buy these and you won't be dissappointed.

I finally decided on these speakers after deciding I wanted a decent 2.1 system to hook up to my new Mac laptop. The speakers sound great and the little 6.5" sub actually puts out some decent bass. My only complaint would be the lack of a power on/off switch which I felt was quite odd. You just have to plug these guys into a surge protector and use that for your switch. There are not many choices for decent computer speakers, it was basically between these Klipsch 2.1 setup for $150 and the BOSE companion 3 (Bose's 2.1 setup) for $250. The Bose may look sexier but not worth the extra $100. If you've got the money I would step up to the Bose Companion 5.1 setup.

I have had a set of these speakers for about 11 years. They survived a hurricane in 2007 when a tree fell into my office... they have gone strong until today... and I'm pretty sure there is a short in the subwoofer at the connection... I didn't realize the cords had gotten stretched and pulled at the connection... So this is my fault that only 1 channel is working now.
I will be purchasing a new pair today and hope to get at least another 11 great years of use out of these... hopefully without a hurricane.

Another Klipsch failure

It appears my set is completely fried. I tried replacing the fuse, didn't fix it. I had a Klipsch reference series sub that has gone dead as well.
I dont know if this is the reason or not, but I didnt have either product on a surge protector and maybe Klipsch products are more susceptible to damage than others.
I am/was a Klipsch fanatic, I have complete set of Klipsch reference series home theater speakers along with a second cheaper set of of Klipsch home theater speakers.
I am installing a new home theater next fall, this failure of a $149 product along with the powered sub I owned from them, will cause me to seriously consider other brands as I no longer have the confidence in the product that I once did.

These speakers would be great at $150, but I only paid $120. The sound blows away my old Altec Lansing system. Some reviewers have complained about the rubber feet, but why? They provide dampening between the speaker stands/feet and whatever they are on. May be inexpensive, but it works great and the sound is not hurt one bit. I get distorted sound directly from iTunes, but not from my iPod, so I am blaming my sound card for this. Every other source sounds fantastic. I also like the input for mp3 players on the side of the right speaker

Decent speakers, but over priced.

The good: Speakers use standard speaker wire so lengthening the wire is zero problem, great mid and high sound quality, get's fairly loud for low RMS wattage.
The bad: Way over priced, Owned for less than 3 years and the sub is already toast, had a family member who's amp went out within a year after I recommended it to them (recommended a year and a half ago), subwoofer is garbage (ported subs always suck, come on klipsch), low RMS wattage, IS NOT KLIPSCH QUALITY!
Overall, if you want to waste some money, go ahead, they sound good for a while then they take a... well..., and yes the sound quality does deteriorate over time.
