    Great Speakers for the price

I've had the same set of speaker before and tried some different ones there's no comparison. These speakers are a little pricey to repair so when mine went out I purchased them again. 1st set lasted about 5 years!

    Great Sound But........................

These speakers sound great! The only problem is that the sub amp blew out after only 1.5 years rendering the speakers useless. The amp also sent a power surge thru the 3.5mm jack into my 27" iMac and blew out the sound card on the logic board, an 1,100 dollar repair.

This system in great but the power button is on the back of the subwoofer and it's a hassle to turn the system on. There should be some sort of remote on/off capability on the speaker or some satelite devise.

    Problems from day one.

Was in the market for new speakers and did a little research only to find that these pro media's were suppose to sound top notch! I mean, 230 ratings with an average of 4.8 out of 5 stars, what could possibly go wrong..? Well, day one, the right speaker sounds really distorted. Even when changing the volume all the way down, the right speaker would never go all the way down, weird. Also when turning volume up, left speaker would get loud, right speaker wouldn't. So perhaps a bad right speaker from the factory? Oh and for the record, I have my speaker with the volume/bass knobs on the left side, it's the speaker without the knobs that was having problems. Anyways, I checked my connections on the back of the subwoofer, unplugged/plugged back in everything and everything seemed to work fine after that, or at least for about a week. Now when I adjust the volume the right speaker sometimes cuts in and out, gets loud then quiet. Usually when I have my volume set the problem goes away and both speakers sound balanced and very clear. With so many positive reviews of these speakers I'll probably just exchange them and try again. However some of the other negative reviews suggest that this type of problem can come at any point even a year down the road which leads me to believe there is a problem at the factory. Perhaps I'll go with a different brand after all. Too bad, they really sound awesome when they work.

I got these speakers thinking they would be great. i down graded from a 5.1 stereo system needed more room. first off there is no off switch major pain in the butt especially if you have 5.1 head phones as myself. they can get loud enough to make your ear's bleed to the point the sound becomes distorted. They are a bit too loud for me. also they should use some other wire then just standard rca cable for the speakers. so if your eco friendly and aren't deaf then i would stay away from these also if you have arthritis as the controls are a little stubborn to turn.

Beware - Great Sound if they come on !

My new pair (purchased 11-5-12) started faulting no power shortly after I hooked them up. They came back on after unplugging for a while and I thought, Okay it must be an internal fuse for saftey.... wrong ! (old models had exterior fuses) but this Klipsch Promedia 2.1 set rarely works ... if ever. They seem dead. I am getting ready to ship it back to Klipsch Warranty, UPS cost about $50 and USPS Parcel Post with insurance is around $32. You have been warned ! These are great sounding, I wish my worked reliably, but they don't.

Over all good speakers - Dont last long

These are good sounding speakers but the inputs on the back of the sub are not the best. Mine broke after about 3 months. I moved the speakers to another room in my office and unplugged the speaker wire and the little red and black plastic pieces popped off. I called and spoke with Klipsch and they told me, "they are speakers, they don't last forever." I was pretty upset about that. Like I said, good sound, bad build

    Good and Bad

The controller is mounted on the speaker, like several cheap systems. The volume control developed a short after the first week of ownership. Only reason I didn't fix it is my workaround (getting the knob in just the right position) seemed to do the trick. That said, for $150, develop a better controller, seriously, because this plastic POC doesn't cut it. Oh and there is absolutely no way to open the controller portion of the speaker to re-solder.

    Defective out of the box

I was really looking forward to these speakers, a big step up from my budget ones and at first try they sounded pretty awesome until I realized that I was hardly getting any volume out of the left speaker and loud pops (clicks) every few seconds. So they are back in the box and going back to the store. Very disappointed. Based on the other reviews here it sounds like I may have just been unlucky.

    My experience

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Maybe my experience is different than the majority. I have not purchased a product that has had as many issues as this. First issue I had was when plugging my i phone into the music port on the control pod to listen to music, i heard a loud pop followed by a humming noise and smoke from the subwoofer, really???amplifier was taken out by static electricity. Klipsch was good at sending a replacement. Ok, cannot really judge a product if one issue arises. But, then the second issue. One speaker is louder and more clear than the other. Now I am starting to regret the purchase. Plug the speaker in one at a time, in either the left or right speaker connection at the amplifier and it is always lower and muddy than the other speaker, regardless of source, or if it is connected to a computer of tv. A speaker issue most likely related to problem 1. System is far from abused, used occasionally, at lower volumes but volume is not what created my issue in the first place. There are some design flaws, and is kind of expensive for what you get. Lesson learned, computer speakers regardless of who puts it out are made to a price point and will always be some compromise in either sound or reliability.

    DOA out of the box

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Klipsch has legendary sound quality, and legendary quality issues as well. I know I am not the only one, and there is a reason some of the major online etailers like newegg stopped carrying these...returns. My right speaker was DOA right out of the box. Everything else worked fine. Yes, it was hooked up correctly and in the correct sequence given that there is no on/off switch. Extremely disappointed. I had a set of Promedia speakers before, and one of the satellites blew despite it never was used beyond 50% volume. I chalked it up to an abberation, but after having done some research online at the time I found that this was common and having blown subwoofers was even more common. The consensus was quality issues, and pervasive ones at that. I decided to give it a couple of years to let Klipsch work out their quality issues and boy was I disappointed. Logitech here I come. Too bad! Returning these speakers ASAP.

    Not pleased

So obviously the people giving these speakers 5 stars have never had a good set of speakers. I went from having my logitech Z2400 speakers and those were INCREDIBLE!!! unfortunatley i blew one of the speakers after of few years of use and couldnt get another set because logitech stopped making them after many years and i was EXTREMLEY angry. so i went and got these kilpsch speakers and i guess i cant complain cause they work but not NEARLY as good as my previous speakers. I like to keep my music loud VERY loud and for quite a while and after keeping it loud for five mins with these i feel as if they are about to blow. and the sound quality gets distorted at louder volume. I guess really i shouldnt be giving these only three stars but going from such high quality amazing speakers to these i was kind of like EHH. looks like im just gunna have to start upgrading to some proffesional speakers pretty soon. And about the subwoofer, theres is no comparison, logitechs sub would shake my house, this one just is terrible, its a little garbage sub thats just thrown in with the package. Overall i do some more research and get something better.

Loud yet muffled sound. No power switch on the speakers I purchased online, yet some pics clearly show switch on the same model. I bought based on reviews and wish I had went with Logitech. Both brands are hard wired to controls on satellite speaker wich is a negative for me. Klipsch, get your over rated heads out of your behinds.
