Klipsch Pro Media vs. Bose Companion II
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the Pro Media speakers a week ago and they are very good speakers. My key concern was how they compared to the Bose Companion computer speakers I am used to. The big difference is bass, the Klipsch speakers, because of the subwoofer, have a ton of it. This makes Klipsch a better choice than Bose for computer games and movies. On the other hand, if you are using the speakers mainly for music - unless it's Hard Rock - I think the Bose have a slight edge with a purer, cleaner sound. Also the Bose are usually $30 to $50 cheaper. Of course this is just my opinion, I like the "Bose" sound, not everybody does. For those who don't, Klipsch Pro Media are the best alternative.

Outstanding Balance!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For anyone looking to compare the "Logitech Z623 THX 2.1" system with this Klipsche 2.1 Pro Media...Klipsche is FAR better!! Long story short, I first purchased the Klipsche, then returned it because I needed the money for something else. Then When I had the money again, I got the Logitech Z623 just to see how it compared. I took it back that same night and exchanged it for the Klipsche. :) The sound quality is SO much better balanced with the Klipshe, and you really notice the power range..being that I don't think I'll ever need to turn it up even 1/2 way! I'm very much into music...Every audio component in my vehicle is custom. This Klipsche 2.1 is a great set up. Crisp highs, fluid mids, and PLENTY of base control!! Outstanding:)

Great Speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently, I went and bought a new computer (HP Envy 700) and monitor (ASUS VXH248) from Best Buy. I figured I should upgrade my speakers, which were Monsoon speakers with subwoofer that I've had for over 12 years. I did my research and couldn't decide on getting the Logitech Z623 or the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. Both had excellent reviews, but I was able to listen to the Klipsch ProMedia at the store. I went with the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 with the recommendation from a Best Buy employee. Needless to say, after setting it up and listening to the Klipsch at home, I'm extremely happy with the purchase (got it on sale for $125 too). I set the bass at midpoint, and it booms. The music comes in crisp and loud. The only criticism I have about the set is that it does not have an on/off switch. Other than that, it's been great.

STUPID
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These things are just STUPID. I had a pair of Altec Lansing VS4121 2.1 speakers (about 5 years old) that sounded really nice for $79.00. I was suffering a little mid-life crisis and decided that I needed a new set of computer speakers. I decided to buy these because of their price/customer review ratio. I looked at the Bose speakers, but cost was too high and they are a lot like my stereo (Bose) speakers, no mid-range or treble. Did I mention that these Klipsch are STUPID? i set these up on my p.c. and was instantly impressed. I had to get into my equalizer and tone the highs down a few notches because the cymbals were making my ears bleed. Manual suggests setting the sub dial to about a 10 o-clock position, I set it to 12 o-clock because I like to lose control of all bodily function. I succeeded. After changing my pants I played around with them some more. I am hearing high end sounds that were not apparent on my Altecs. The Sub will make glass shatter. All in all, I am very impressed. It will give my wife something else to nag about. It won't matter since in about a week I will be deaf.

Fantastic audio experience!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never actually bothered to write a product review before, that should be a clue..... These speakers are seriously loud... like you'll have the police at your door in about 10 minutes if you turn them all the way up, loud. The sound quality is fantastic and the bass... wow. I can't believe the amount of bass this set pushes out! Worth every penny. The only issue you might run into is if you're planning on wall mounting the two satellite speakers. You'll either have to bend the metal stands that come with the speakers, or buy a brand that isn't necessarily made for this set. They mount via a single screw at the bottom of the speakers. BOSE uses a similar system so you should be fine using a set of BOSE wall mounts with these. Just do your research before buying! Another very cool feature is that the volume/bass adjustment module is detachable from the right speaker. I currently have the speakers wall mounted and the volume module stuck under my desk with double stick tape. Awesome set!

Best Grab For Your Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the speakers, I have owned them for about 1 and 1/2 years now and they have worked great forever now. They are very good sound quality for desktop speakers for the easy setup. It has very long cables for trips or spreading out of the speakers and is very compact but loud sound. They do not blow, ive put them almost full volume for about 20 hours worth of music. The only problems i have is that the bass cannot hit low tones very well, its only 8 inches so thats pretty much what you can expect but hits mid tones like a beast. I also dont like the structure of the subwoofer and that the speaker is on the side, better for to be on the top and looks better.

Great sound at a good price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this system on sale for $129.00 at Best Buy in the Meriden, CT store. I mention the store because it was the best service I ever experienced in any Best Buy location! The system is hooked up to my PC. It's well worth the money. Easy to set up, smaller footprint and made real well. It has separate Sub and Speaker controls, which allow a good, easy mixing of the 2 based on what you are listening to at the time. The 2 knobs are part of one of the nicety crafted speakers. Excellent sub and speaker volume, and sound quality. This system is like all Klipsch products. Well made to last and sounds real good.

Awesome product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this product after hearing a friend of mine had bought them for his office at work. I thought they sounded great so I figured I'd purchase a set for my apartment. Although there is no on/off button (I worked that one out for myself) the sound quality is amazing, I barley turn up the sound on the satellite speakers and the sub and only had the computer volume up to 40. !!!BAM!!! instant theater sound in my apartment. The precise clarity and bass are real impressive and yes I would and already have recommended these to several friends and family and I would buy them again! Klipsh great job!!!

Perfect for simplistic small home theatres.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to go with my GT720 Projector and 92" Projecta Pull down screen and I couldn't be happier for such a small system. Anything that has a headphone jack is compatible with this system which makes it ideal for simple set upand killer audio....For the size of it, it will blow you away. Great bass leveling switch and volume has a huge range from quiet to heart stopping. I love haveing a set of speakers that boast the THX Logo, which if you know anything audio, cinema, or star wars you know what that means. This product is THX certified which means the sound studios behind Star Wars and George Lucas LTD. (the best sound design team renowned by all major distributers and producers.) actually approves this product for the best in home audio and entertainment...I think it's a no brainer. $150.00+simplicity+incredible sound and versatility=the best desktop/home cinema sound system within price range. They actually should display these at the front of the store hooked up to a GT720 projector just to show what a couple of tiny little devices can produce. Buy it.

Excellent sound; great PC upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am thrilled with it. I'll say it again: I am thrilled with it. This system is high quality and is an incredible value (especially if you get it on sale). I have a Klipsch home theater setup (over $3,000), so I was familiar with the brand name. I did a lot of research and found that the Promedia 2.1 was highly regarded. So, I bought it at Bestbuy when it was on sale. Same crisp clear sound quality as my high end home theater Klipsch - across the range from lows to mids to highs. Also, as much, or as little, bass as you want - easily controlled. The controls on the one speaker are very convenient. These speakers, since they are powered, are so powerful that even cranked up to only 20 percent (on my PC) they can rock an entire side of the house. I listen to music and play games on my pc - sound details in both are excellent. Very highly recommended. I would buy another set in a second.

Overall, a great system.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In short, this is an overall great system. I promised my girlfriend a new set of speakers since we're doing some upgrades to our computer. I was comparing Logitech's Z4 and Altec Lansing's MX6021 to the Promedia. I wasn't impressed with the fake 3 drivers per speaker set-up of the Z-4's (really only one per stack), and since the nearest store with the Altec's was over 100 miles away, I never got to listen to them. Plus, too many reviews talked of constant static and hissing in that system. I am an admitted audiophile, so sound is very important to me, and Klipsch delivered. Set-up was easy, though the power switch behind the sub is questionable, but I knew this already from my research. The size of the sub is great and the footprint is okay...I'm thinking of wall-mounting the sats. Make sure you have room for wires, 'cause there are plenty of them in length. And use the rubber feet included, else wise they will slide all over the place on the metal stands. Now, about the sound: GREAT!!! Mind you, we were running on an old pair of 2 watts that were starting to go out, so of course the Promedia was a huge step up for the computer, but still they sound fantastic. The highs are a bit bright, but they do need to be broken in. The mids come through great, and the bass really hits; unless you really like a lot of bass, don't go past the little white mark...mine are shaking the room and windows at 9 o'clock volume. We've got ours equidistant from the screen and lined up with it, so the sound fields are on point with the monitor. We've run some of every audio we can through these, from jazz to R&B to soundtracks and classical music (listening to "Sweet Dreams in Purgatory" now). The only real issue I can find is that the Promedia doesn't have a treble control, only bass and volume. Granted the control pod looks kinda cheap, but that would've been a nice control to have. All in all, this system is money well spent.

Superb speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers provide incredible sound across the audio spectrum. Clean highs, crisp, distinctive mid-range and thumping bass. I compared these to the Bose Companion II, which to be fair is a 2.0 system without a sub-woofer, and the Klipsch system blew away the Bose in the ear test. The sound from this system rivals that of many hi-fi systems with a separate amp and speakers. Tons of power and incredible clarity and separation. LOVE them.

Forget Bose
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to pay for a name, go with Bose or Logitech. If you want to pay for sound quality, go with Klipsch, isn't this the whole reason your buying speakers? Sound quality? Anyways, I'll sum it up for ya. Unboxing - Set up was sooo easy! 4 items came in the box, 1 sub woofer with power cable attached, 2 speakers with wires attached, and a little bag of rubber circles to put on the bottom of the speakers. Direction's aren't needed whatsoever but they even put in an instruction manual, aw how nice. :) Features - The features are pretty standard, Subwoofer level and Main Volume knobs. That's it. It would have been nice if you had a treble adjuster too, but it's really not needed with these speakers they are very clear and bright. I'm pretty sure there's not even an on/off button, which is odd, but again, just turn them down to minimum and you'll be fine. One thing that is very nice is since the volume and bass knobs are on one of the speakers I was worried about it being forced to either the left or the right side, but these did not have that issue due to the fact that you plugged the speakers in depending on what side you wanted them! So them being reversible is great! Also the speaker covers do come off, but I'm not sure why you'd take them off because I think they are very classy looking. Sound - Ok I listen to Rock/Nu Metal/Thrash Metal you know, heavy stuff with lot's of double bass. So the first thing I did after hooking these bad boys up is turn on Down With The Sickness by Disturbed. First of all let me just say the bass was at 35% and the volume was at about 25%, and when this song came on all I could say was wow! I got blasted with sound, in a good way! The bass pedal was was thumping to where I could feel it in my chest, and the speakers blasted with incredible accuracy! Sound is very good on these bad boys! I swear it could compete with my surround sound! Overall - This is a great set up, and like I said many times it looks and sounds phenomenal! I have a feeling that these are very durable, everything feels solid as a rock, but like everything only time will tell. I'd say that if you have the money to afford these and you like your music/movies/video games to sound good, this is where your money belongs! There may be something better next year, there may be something worse, you never know, but I do know that if these broke on me after my return policy, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat!

Won't be disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went into bestbuy looking for a soundbar to enhance the sound quality is was getting from my new 48 inch insignia tv but the soundbars were way to out of my price range then my girlfriend suggested I get computer speakers. I walked over to the plug on speakers that areally typically used for pc's and tested them out and fell in love with the quality of this system. When I got back home and hooked it up to my TV it literally felt like I was in a theater. I can feel the base all around me it was definitely a great decision and a good alternative to a sound bar. Same quality for a cheaper price

Great!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound repercussion of a system this size is astonishing! I had the HP 2.1 system(Harmon Kardon), and I thought those sounded good. The imaging alone on these speakers was shocking to me the first time I listened to them. The separation is great for such a small set of satellite's, and the sub produces a very rich deep accurate bass. Not only does this system sound amazing, it can get loud...real loud! This is one of the most powerful 2.1 sets you can buy(200w). Besides the outstanding performance by these speakers, they have a very simple but yet monitor/studio look to them. I leave my grills off and they look very sexy. The headphone output is very solid and powerful. Though I dont have a very stellar sound card, the Klipschs amp produces soooo much more power to my hungry phones. The only sour note I've read about this set was the vol/sub knobs have a tendency to ware out if abused. You can fix that problem by getting a keyboard with vol keys right on it. My new HP came with such a keyboard. I set my vol. to about 66% and my sub level to about 45% on the speakers and haven't touched them since I bought them. I do all the tweaking with the various settings on my comp. or app.(Win-amp). Many may be put off by the price, but let it be known....they are worth every penny and more!

Good, but needs different satellites
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this set to use at work. I’m using iTunes to playback lossless songs ripped from CD. When I hooked up the speakers and gave them a listen, there was something missing, like a hole in the sound, in the upper bass to lower midrange. I tried a different set of small speakers, same result. Then for the fun of it I took an old pair of bookshelf speakers with a 6.5” woofer using some 16 gage speaker wire and presto – the sound that was missing was there. Bass is pretty good for such a small driver in the sub, and I’m able to get the volume to levels too high for the office without distortion. The volume control that comes with the set is flaky, so I have it set to a reasonable level, and use the volume control in Windows to adjust the level. No amount of EQ could overcome the deficit before, but now I have a pretty good rig. I would advise using an outlet strip with a switch, so you can turn the amp on & off.

Crisp clean sound. Loud and hell and the Su wilder packs a pounch like no other, can't go wrong with these espcially for me when playing battlefield 3 I can hear every little wiz to an explosion that sounds like its really in my face! WOW!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came to this site a couple hours ago to scope out a new set of PC speakers. This brand was completely off my radar as I was comparing Creative and Logitech for sound quality within my budget. Thirty minutes go by and I'm at the Best Buy store sound testing both brands. I was leaning toward the Logitech 5.1 system, but I wasn't happy with the quality of sound when reaching higher levels. I then decided to turn the Klipsch set on to compare the Logitech to a brand I never heard of. As soon as they turned on I was blown away by rich bass and crisp sound quality, and it was merely at the mid-low range for volume. I turned these puppies up to mid-high, and the quality was just as smooth if not better. Needless to say, I'm at home enjoying the phenomenal sound quality as I write this review, and I never write reviews. I'm in love with the power of this little unit, and what a deal for $140. I highly recommend this product!
