I never write reviews, but holy cow....these speakers are truly incredible. I had no idea what I was unboxing. These are not your typical computer speakers....these things are studio speakers! Crystal clear, INCREDIBLE bass. I am shocked at the sound coming out of these speakers. They get very loud with the same quality sound too. My Lexus has Mark Levinson audio, which is, hands down, the best audio system you can experience- it is utterly mind-blowing. Mark Lev blows my Bose surround system in my theater away. However, these Klipsch speakers remind me a LOT of the Mark Lev, in that I hear notes in songs I never knew were there. I hear each instrument separately. I hear the depth of the song. I hear the music the way the artist intended it to be heard. These are not as good as the Mark Lev, but they are only a step or two behind, and at this price, they are a STEAL. Ya know, the Mark Lev was a $4,500 option in my car, and these are almost as good for under $200? Are you KIDDING me? BUY THESE NOW!

    Superb sound

I've had these speakers for a dozen year and 4 computer systems now and have never found anything under $250 that could remotely touch them. As long as you aren't trying to run a rock concert from a set top speaker bundle, I'm not sure what type of music wouldn;t benefit. Excellent midrange and treble clarity for vocals, pretty good bass from the separate module -- classical, jazz, vocal, country, and rock all sound great from mp3 to full CD quality. I don't need surround from my computer so 2.0 or 2.1 is more than adequate, but none of the the typical mass market computer speakers were able to deliver anything better than a mushy mess. These Klipsch will be better than anything short of the best computer quality Swans and Audioengine level which cost 3X what these do now. The only real audio downside is if you want to run these at 90+% volume and then they will balk. The biggest issue with this set has always been it's wiring -- it's non standard and a bit fragile. I've completely replace the control module once (approx $30) due to the thin wires breaking inside and the somewhat unstable DIN plug that runs to the subwoofer. Since it's proprietary it is going to be an issue unless you get your soldering iron out and become your own engineer.

    Better than Bose

Hands down are better than my Bose sound system. I have a pair of Bose for my entertainment center and didn't want to pay a high value for computer speakers. Went the extra mile and purchased these. I was truly impressed with the bass and sound quality. They are great for streaming television and gaming. The one major flaw I found was there is no way to turn these off. (read below) The second is that the front of the speaker can easily be taken off. The netting isn't screwed in at all. You won't notice this unless you play with it. NOTE! I went straight to the manufacture and told them that the Best Buy display had an off switch in the back of the sub. Mine did not. It would appear the newer models are never meant to turn off. They use very low watts (1 watt) when the computer is turned off. NEVER unplug these speakers if you want to turn it off. You risk blowing the speaker or shorting it. For the sound quality and affordability I could compromise with the lack of user-friendly functions.

    You WILL NOT be dissapointed

I purchased these speakers about 7 years ago (thats right, 7 years...). The first thing you should notice is that Klipsch has been selling these exact same speakers for that long unchanged. While the other brands in the computer speaker category change their product line constantly, Klipsch has not touched theirs because there is no need. I compared these directly with a friend's comperable 2.1 bose computer speaker system. There are some slight differences here and there but mostly personal prefference. Otherwise, they both sounded excellent (though I thought my Klipsch sounded a little better#. The biggest difference: I paid $120 for my Klipsch and he paid $300 for his Bose The speakers have a very good range with exceptional clarity even from a headphone jack. They can crank up louder than any normal person would ever need sitting at their computer and not sacrifice clarity when doing so. The bass is tight, rounded, and very nicely matched wit the the speakers and can rumble an entire room if you ask it to. This is one of the biggest distinguishing factors to the Klipsch vs other computer speaker sets. The Bass on other sets simply can't keep up and feels more like a novelty thing when compared. One great feature is there is an input on the side of one of the speakers where you can plug in any device using a standard headphone cable. I've used this to plug in an ipod at a party, inputs from old gaming consols, etc. You can do this while leaving it plugged into the computer. Furthermore there is also a headphone outet where you can easily add headphones. My only negative is a small one and is about the nobs for the volume. They feel a bit fragile, but i've treated them nicely and have not had a problem with them yet #after 7 years). If you've never owned a set of Klipsch speakers, make the jump and you will not be dissapointed. I don't buy any other brand now.

Replaced Bose companion 5, glad I did

I purchased Bose companion 5 system on a whim. They sound OK but something was missing. After using for a few days and reading reviews, I decided to return them and get these. WOW and WOW again, these speakers provide it all, crisp highs, solid mid range and great bass. At 150 they are a complete steal. I read about the cracking nose, or one side going out. If you are having that issue, take a look online and there are videos showing how use WD-40 or tuner cleaner to solve that problem. Also, the better your sound card the better these sounds obviously.

Was searching around for speakers after my Bose Companion 3 finally died. Read the customer reviews for this system and decided this would be the one...especially after the demo @ the store. Got it home yesterday...hooked it up...played a song that i know has alot of BASS...and really got blown away. Amazing that this system isn't priced like a comparable BOSE system. You really get more than what you pay for. This system is way better than my old BOSE. Highs & Mids are clear...w/ heart-pounding BASS...what more can u ask for? Although i wish it had an ON/OFF button, that's a little sacrifice for what u get.

    Shockingly Good for the Price

I had been looking for a set of 2.1 "computer" speakers for a while to place in my living room. I have a bluetooth receiver and it is nice to play music off my iPhone. When I saw these, I couldn't believe what I was seeing for the price. Most other speaker sets either were only 2.0 systems or were only a measly 20 watts total (or else far outside my price range). i have a fairly large living room with very high ceilings (17 ft at highest point) and this system fills the whole place. I would not call myself an audiophile, but I really do appreciate the difference this system makes. In fact, I found the bluetooth receiver introduces a tinniness to the sound that i don't get when hooking the speakers directly to my iPhone/Computer/iPad. Couldn't even tell the difference with my previous speakers. I'm not sure if anyone needs this much power sitting at their computer, though. For a larger room or for a party, this is a great buy. One last thing, when I received my system, the left channel did not work at all. Best Buy customer service made it fairly simple to return the old unit to a store and immediately leave with a replacement. The replacement sounds terrific.

    "I AM IMPRESSED"

i have been lookingfor a good set of computer speakers for some time. most of the speakers i listen to simply sound like trash. the $80 speakers sound no better than the $20 models. i know the klipsch name from years ago, but didn't know if it carried the same quality. the bose sound good, but the price is too high for computer speakers. i read alot of reviews here on line and went to my best buy to check them out. i was dissappointed to find they were not hooked up (along with several others) but decided to take a chance and buy them anyway. (if i wasn't happy i would have marched right back with them) got them home, hooked them up and WOW! the sound is clear and the bass from the subwoofer is very clean. the sound is balanced for the most part, a little bass heavy. this will change depending where you place the sub woofer. i brought up the graphic eq and tapered down the lowest frequency and now its perfect. these speakers can get quite loud, so turn the volume control down before you play something for the first time. purchased on sale $130.

My Klipsch speakers are almost 8 years old. For all these years they have seen a lot. I think that they are a little blown up, but I am not complaining. They still sound great. Great, solid system. Great sub and midrange. Very loud. If you want the best computer speakers, get those or Bose for $250.

The system is great for the money. Originally wanted Bose or Bowers and Wilkins. Klipsch turned out to be the best choice for price, sound and size. The sub woofer will surprise you when you set it up. Not even halfway up and it feels like I shake the house. The speakers are clear, great size and controls are easy to use. No complaints so far and Best Buy always has great products.

Ok, I don’t write reviews, but this product warrants it. Let’s start with prerequisites: If you don’t like crystal clear audio, deep penetrating bass, and grinning while you listen to music, don’t buy these. However, if you enjoy partyrocking, rocking-out, or just plain jamming, BUY THESE RIGHT NOW! I have owned a pair of these that I bought for my office at work for approximately 4 months, and all i do is tell people how awesome they are. While they are really good at being loud, they are equally good quality when turned down to a reasonable volume. I have gone thru speaker set after speaker set trying not to get to this price point. The price is TOTALLY WORTH IT! $150 for these speakers is like buying a brand new Ferrari for ten grand. TLDR: These speakers rock. These speakers Rock. These Speakers ROCK.

    Out Freaking Standing!

I recently built a new Windows 7 PC for gaming and at the time I puchased an affordable Altec lansing 2.1 computer speaker system that was okay for the price. It did the job. One day while shopping at Best Buy I just happened to stroll over to the computer speakers display tucked away in a corner of the store and proceded to check out the different systems available. I was first impressed by the BOSE system being sold. However, after clicking on the button to hear the Klipsch speakers I was BLOWN AWAY at how superior they are over the much overpriced BOSE system. In comparison, these Klipsch are an absolute bargain, if you were considering the BOSE. I can not speak highly enough about these Klipsch speakers. Who needs surround sound when these things output such clear highs and low bass that you'll be astonished that anything could sound this good. I couldn't wait to get these speakers home and connected to my computer. LIstening to music, playing video games or watching a movie is now a completely different experience. Save up the money in a few weeks if the price is too high for your budget but, once you do, you will not be disappointed. I do not have experience with Klipsch speakers so, I just hope they last as long as my trusted Yamaha speakers have. The Klipsch are simply two steps above anything else out there in the computer speakers category. Buy them! You'll be happy you did.

I was completely blown away by these speakers. I can't believe something at this price can produce such load and broad sound. The only issue I have with them is while they have bright highs and deep lows, unless you put the sub-woofer near the speakers, they sound like two different outputs rather than one single system. The sub-woofer is enormous (almost twice the size of comparable ones) and while the speakers carry, the sub-woofer REALLY carries. These are great living-room speakers but probably not great desk speakers. They can really fill up a room and make it throb.

the most solid 2.1 system ever

I bought this system about 5 months ago for 150 bucks. I originally bought a 5.1 logitech surround system, but returned it next day due to poor sound quality. The geek squad agent recommended these but I was skeptical about it due to the price. He assured me that I had 30 days to return it if I didn't like it. So, I made the buy and immediately set it up to my PS3. The sound quality is completely comparable to Bose speakers. What many lower to middle end speakers tend to miss is the mid range quality.. which is a vital part of listening to outstanding music quality. The Klipsch deliver solid range, ESPECIALLY MID RANGE, to produce high quality sound for only being a 2.1 system under $200. As for the subwoofer.. If you enjoy heavy bass rap music, these will shake the walls if you want them to. seriously. And the speakers themeselves can get extremely loud.. i have it constantly set to about 1/10th of their loudness potential..and even so..it sounds perfect!! And these speakers frequently go on sale.. right now as a matter of fact they are only 120 bucks!! you will not regret the purchase, the mid range quality tops it all off!!

I never really get on sites and review things, but I'm a huge audiophile, so I had to have these speakers. I've only turned them up maybe half-way before they are just too loud to turn up any more. Even at that volume, they shake the floor throughout my house. There is so much bass if you turn the sub up, too. The sound is all very balanced. There's not too much bass or too much treble. Love them.

This 2.1 system is pristine for the price These speakers have made my music library sound fresh and vibrant. The power behind this system is remarkable, it is loud and clear. Gaming has a new dimension of clarity. The horn tweeter and quality midrange speaker drive this system. It propels crisp sound with power. The sub is powerful and tight a note about the subwoofer: Placement is key! Depending on what kind of bass you want placement will provide either thumping muffled bass or very tight bass notes. I had to take mine off the floor and elevated above my desk center(I have a higher desk shelf for sub placement). Put close to wall and or corner for muffled bass. Bass is very omnidirectional but room placement is key. Elevated off the floor above my desk was required to eliminate the drowning thumping bass that dominates other frequencies. Fixed speaker wires attatched at one end I thought was poor design. Power button as mentioned on the back of the subwoofer is cumbersome but since I raised my sub turning on/off is easy. Great purchase

First of all, I'd never heard of Klipsch before June of last year(2011). Although my mind was set on purchasing the speaker set by Bose, I ended up purchasing the 2.1 set. The sound quality is the best I ever heard. I have a friend who recently purchased a home and she doesn't know it yet, but I'm buying her a this same set for a house warming gift. I wanted to hear the drop as well as the low bass sound, and for the price I got it for, it was worth it!!!!! When I visited the store I was asking the floor salesman about the Bose set, and he said "if I were you I'd put a few more dollars with what you have and purchase these" and when I got home and connected it to my PC I'm was happy I took his advice!!!!!!!
