A purely supurb speaker system.

I purchased these after giving countless demonstrations and these are the best all around computer speakers I have heard. As a Saleperson at Best Buy that should say something. The sound quality outperforms the Bose Companion 2 ($100) and the Bose Companion 20 ($250) hands down! The Klipsch also boasts 200 Watts total system power AND holds the THX Certification which the Bose does not. THX Certification is meant to ensure that the sound produced by an audio system is heard in EXACTLY the manner that the audio engineer intended, thus making the standard an important feature. Low Frequecy sound produced by Subwoofers accounts for 30% of the sound we hear and while Bose mimics some of the lows well, it's no match for the Sub included with this speaker system.
Many computer speakers can be comfortably turned all the way up, but at half volume with my doors and windows closed I can hear this system at my mailbox. Turn it all the way up if you wish but I would rather my ears not bleed!
This is by far my favorite purchase from Best Buy to date and would recommend it whole heartedly to anyone wanting to hear their music the way it was intended!

This rig cranks out the jams. I hooked it up to my new imac and wow it rattles the windows. Sounds crisp and loud, it will thump with the best of them. Sounds better than most people's stereos.

I purchased an Insignia 2 channel receiver and a pair of Polk Audio bookshelf speakers to hook up to my Sony turntable to listen to some old vinyl while reading in my library. The receiver is good and although the Polk's are good speakers they just did not produce the bass I wanted. I am in my 60's and grew up listening to rock with lots of bass. Since the receiver did not have a port for a sub woofer I went looking for another set of bookshelfs that would produce lots of bass. Best buy had nothing that I liked in their audio department so I took a chance to see if the had anything in their computer department. I found these and am very happy with them. They were easy to set up and I just plugged them into the headphone port on the receiver. The sound is fantastic. The bass is enough to rattle the walls and the midrange and highs are crystal clear. I have a 27 year old daughter and 6 year old granddaughter living with me. It says a lot about these speakers when they have to tell me to turn down my music. My library is on the third floor and their bedrooms are on the first. (Being in my 60's, I never thought I would have someone telling me to turn down my music like my parents used to do. Makes me feel young again!!!) These speakers are very versatile and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a powerhouse compact speaker system.

Greattt 2.1 set for a computer

Picked these speakers up today at my local best buy for around 150$ after going down the line and pressing all the little red buttons to test the speakers. These were about half as expensive as a comparable bose model and about twice as expensive as the other options. These speakers are an incredible value and provide rich sound from bass to mids to highs. I have been testing them on high quality music files and they really do great. I dont think a bose 2.1 system could best this product. The self contained amp within the subwoofer really pumps out some strong sound for a 2.1 and you can get these LOUD before any distortion. Zero cons here. This product is a no brainer if youre looking for a 2.1 system. Dont even waste your time looking around anymore!

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 vs Logitech z623

I recently bought the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system because I already had the Logitech z623 for my television in the family room. The differences in both of them are pretty clear. The Logitech sounds more mid ranged which is also why the bass probably sounds a lot more. While the Klipsch in my opinion were better, it was because they hit all three of the sound spectrum highs, mids, and lows. Still at the same time it had strong bass comparable to the Logitech z623. Overall they both are really good computer speaker systems but if I were you I would choose the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 System for overall better sound signature.
BTW... If you do get the Klipsch Promedias and you notice the back plate getting pretty hot, I am pretty sure your still fine just do not blast your speakers on full volume for hours on end.

So to start off I've been researching these particular speakers for some time. After watching YouTube videos, reading review articles, and so on I finally decided that I wanted to pull the trigger. Upon taking this set out from the box I noticed the amazing packing job. Everything was safe and secure and the box could take a brutal beating and these the components would still be in perfect shape; a great sign of attention from start to finish. The next thing I noticed was the metal stands the satellites sit on. I'm a huge Apple fan and love the integration of metal into electronics. So to see metal stands instead of some cheap plastic gave this set a huge bonus. The next thing I noticed was the construction and feel of all the components as a whole. Nothing felt cheap like it was going to fall apart over time or through several moves. Of course like many articles the sheer size of the subwoofer gives great confidence this thing will produce the tones an audiophile will appreciate. So setting these up I decided to put the set through the paces of several genres of music I enjoy. First up was my go to which is Metal, the kick and bass guitar sounded great from the sub and lower midrange. Guitars were hot with extreme bite but maintained warmth and sustain, and the vocals and cymbal crashes rang through beautifully. Everything fell into place nicely and really shocked me. I've been a bass guitarist for coming up on 10 years playing Metal and this set sounded on par with some lower end studio monitors (which is impressive). Next I played some Rap and various electronic music. Again the bass was full and warm with just enough punch. The satellites delivered as expected and brought amazing joy to my ears. For the price these are a must if you're looking for a 2.1 sound set up. I'm extremely satisfied and will be buying more from Klipsch for sure. If you're on the fence about this set versus a lot of others I would highly suggest you choose these and you will be happy for a very long time. Like the title says 350 5 star reviews aren't wrong and I'm happy to add another.

This is the best system I have personally ever purchased, so loud, so clear, loud base that is clear, small but powerful. My neighbors houses down could hear this if I turn it all the way up. I would love to add some more speakers.
Highly recommend.

I bought this to play vinyl on and combined with the inexpensive Audio Technics turntable I get an amazing compact awesome sounding vinyl experience. Much better than anything I had growing up, much better. The Subwoofer is astounding.

Right now i have a 300watt sub and 600watt 5.1 surround sound system in my room but alas i am going to college and was forced to downgrade for my dorm room. I was trying to decide whether to get this system or the logitech for $100 in order to save money and i am SO happy i went with these. I also have a 4000watt system in my car so as you can imagine i have very high standards for audio and these speakers amazed me. For $150 i guarantee you wont find anything with better quality sound. Even the subwoofer is pretty impressive! Anyway, to anyone that is trying to decide whether to buy these or not dont hesitate for a second because they are well worth the high ratings they are getting.

I'm using these to replace my aging Altec Lansing speakers that are 12 years old. I wanted something to be at least the same or even better than what I already own. These do the job! Thundering clean bass and super highs. Klipsch has been around for a very long time and considered one of the the high-end speakers systems during my day. I could never afford their speakers when I was younger, but now, after nearly 40 years I finally get to own a set. Don't wait like I did, if you can afford them now, then buy them now, you won't be disappointed.

Just received these speakers - set up and listening to Pandora at work in less than 10 minutes. These speakers are awesome. I have a pair of Bose companions on my desktop at my home office and they suck compared to these. I was worried that the sub would be too large , but its not - its just the right size - with plenty of bass. It must be the side firing that does it but the bass is just right. I turned down the Wave volume to 70% as directied in the instructions and have the sub set at aroun 70% volume and it sounds great. I listen to all genres of music but have a soft spot for early 90's seattle / grunge - Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, that kind of music . The mids and highs are clear as a bell - I guess thats what the THX hoopla is all about. These speakers , for the money are the shiznit. I am a new Klipsch fan - have been big JBL and Bose fan , but things change. If you are looking to get a pair of good quality, loud, computer speakers - you will NOT be disappointed with these.

First what I am used to: Fronts Klipsch Cornwalls, Center Klipsch RC3, Surrounds Klipsch RS3's, Sub SVS Cylinder, with a 92" 720P HD projector. I have downsized as now all my viewing is for me alone and not for friends/parties. I still own the above.
I now use a 2012 (delivered 2013) iMac with the Klipish Pro Media 2.1's and like the system a lot! If this caliber of computer + (low cost) speakers had been available then I may have saved a ton.
Can the sub tear down my house (like the SVS can)? No, but it is accurate at normal listening levels. Do the speakers compare to the Cornwalls? No but again at normal listening levels they are VERY good.
Bottom line for what you could pay for speakers alone you could get a VERY superior computer to watch your iTunes movies and still have a very good sound system.

The bane of Bose.

I originally was looking at the Bose Companion 2.0 speakers and spoke with a Best Buy assistant who suggested I try these. The sound is great and very spacious. Very clear treble and mid-tone production. The sub-woofer gives some impressive boom as well. Everything sounds great on them: music, movies, and games. I purchased them for $124.99 because an old price tag was left on them. So with the 2 year protection plan I spend a total of $175. Best money I've ever spent on computer speakers and the protection plan allows me to replace any of the speakers if they were to blow. Klipsch Promedia 2.1 gives Bose and and any other 2.0/2.1 systems a run for their money.

I had been looking around for a long time to find a accurate sounding self powered speaker system. Out of all the speaker systems that I listened to, and that was a lot, the Klipsh ProMedia 2.1 speaker system was by far the best.
The ProMedia 2.1 system consists of two satellite speakers and a subwoofer. The satellite speakers have a 25mm metalized polymer dome tweeter mated to a MicroTractrix TM Horn and a 3 inch long-throw mid-bass driver. The subwoofer consists of a 8 inch long-throw driver and rear firing slot tuned port with sixth-order enclosure design.
Right satellite speaker has main and subwoofer volume controls, plus inputs for MP3/Disc and headphones.
The satellite speakers are attractive and take up very little space, but the subwoofer is rather large for the this type of system. It's dimensions are 10" square by 9.5" high, so make sure you have the space for it.
But if you are looking for a very good sounding self powered satellite system, this is the system to buy.

Best 2.1 speakers out there for the money. Klipsch always had a great name in their speakers & they keep doing it. How anyone could give this system 1 star is beyond understanding. Full rich overall sound from the great lows out of the subwoofer to the mids & highs from the two satelites. All the volume you would ever need......The price is really cheap compared to the quality you get.

The first time I ever heard of the Klipsch name, was over my neighbors home 18 years ago. My neighbor just bought a $2000 set of Klipsch floorstanding speakers for his home stereo system. When I went to my neighbors home to listen to them, I was absolutely blown away by the sound reproduction, and the overall quality of the speakers themselves....I was left with a everlasting impression of what sound quality is really all about after that listening session.
Now, fast foward to the present, which is now Feb. 28, 2010. I bought these from Bestbuy about 3 weeks ago. I did not want to write a review on these untill I had them long enough to have a better overall review to give these. And I must say, I am really inpressed indeed.
The sound quality is unlike any I have ever heard from any speaker set designed to go with a pc or laptop. The bass is rich, powerful, deep and very satisfying, and the mids and highs shine even more. The midrange drivers are spot on in their range of sound, and the horn tweeters truly are a delight to listen to as well.
If you enjoy listening to R&B, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Rap, Opera, or any other type of music, as well as litening to THX certified speakers while watching your favorite movies, these speakers shine in ways the competitors could only strive to approach. And at $154, these speakers are a deal you should not pass up.
So, after 18 years from my first time of ever listening to Klipsch speakers, I am once again reminded of not only of what sound quality is all about, but this time, that high end sound quality can also be obtained for the desktop computer and laptop as well. These speakers are a Gold Standard. Welcome to Klipsch.

I picked these up a few days ago, and let me tell you, they do not disappoint. These are replacing a dell computer 2.1 system (sounds bad, but they were amazing for 4 years). The ranges are all very clean, through the sub and speakers. Very low bass range, AMAZING mids, very solid highs. All computer enthusiasts should invest in these.

I have owned the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker system for almost 5 years, and let me tell you... there isn't any other speaker system I would get for my computer desk. The music sounds bliss, the bass is heavy, powerful, strong... heck, strong enough to get my neighbor's to complain.
If you do purchase this sound system, however, I *highly recommend* that you purchase it along with Best Buy's GSP plan. This sound system uses a good amount of power for the subwoofer, and there has been times with power outages and such where the fuses inside the subwoofer go out. It terrified me at first but luckily I went to BBY and was happily able to get it replaced on the spot with a new one. I have been using a surge protector to power it ever since.

We were searching for a receiver & speakers for our gym when the salesperson at Best Buy told us about these computer speakers. He promised we would not be disappointed. We were really skeptical. How loud could computer speakers sound?? Really?? But we humored him. And we were blown away!!!! These speaker ROCK our 1,500 sq ft gym!! We actually have to turn the bass almost all the way down. They're incredible! We've bought them for our other 3 gyms & another gym owner purchased them for their's as well & are very happy! HIGHLY recommend these!
