Bought these in Feb 2013 currently use them on my Flat Screen for all TV and Movie Viewing, with excellent results. In reading through the various reviews here I have come up with some observations, Some are not setting them up correctly True they don't have an on/off switch but go to Klipsch's web site and they do make a unit with a on/off switch, cost is about $50.00 more, wither Best Buy and special order these or not I would check with your local store. If you read the specs on this system the cross over is at 5K for the mid-range and sub so a careful balance is needed so the sound seems uniform across the sound spectrum. These are not Rock and Roll Play them as loud as possible Speakers. But they are THX certified witch I believe is unheard of for Speakers in this price range. One thing I've learned over the years is to not place speakers directly on carpet if I can help it. My sub sits on a 1/2 inch board that is approximately three inches wider all the way around which to me helps the sub run cooler and sound better.

I had a pair I bought about 6 years ago of these Klipsch 2.1 speakers. My favorite I ever owned! If you don't need the surround sound and all the hassle with elaborate setups, but still want to cave in your roof with thundering bass and great highs and lows playing games, watching movies, or streaming music, get these. You can't go wrong for the price. My six-year old speakers survived 3 house moves, and lots more than that getting shoved around and abused (kids constantly fudging around with them). They finally bit the dust and somehow shorted out and blew my house breaker. I could not get the sub to come back on (and yes, the fuse was ok). So I went and bought another pair. I will continue to buy them until I can't no more (hopefully the day will never come)!

I've owned two sets of these for the better part of three years and they're AMAZING. I've never had a problem with either set, and the bass still blows me away sometimes. I have one set in my bedroom, used for Netflix and movies, and they're by far the best 2.1 system i've heard. Forget about Bose, these things blow them away. The ONLY small thing I would change is putting a power switch on the left/right speaker, instead of on the subwoofer.

Great pair of speakers, especially for the price. Compared to Bose companion series this system is excellent!! Great crisp sound, Deep bass when you want it and of course the Klipsch reputation for great high quality product!! First set of computer speakers and will probably never go with anything but Klipsch from now on.

Superlative 2.1 Speaker System For A Desktop...

I've owned these speakers for 8 years when they were priced at $250.00. I purchased them at a local Best Buy to complement an HP Pavilion (which is LONG gone) computer. These speakers have been connected to 3 different computers since their original purchase date. I've never had a single problem with these speakers from day one and they're still going strong. The sound quality is excellent at all levels of the sound spectrum and for all musical genres. Installation is simple and straightforward and took less than 5 minutes. My only real complaint is the location of the switch to shut off the power to the speakers. It's located on the back of the subwoofer and is a hassle if you desire turning off the speakers. I'm a bit disappointed the folks at Klipsch didn't give more thought to the placement of the power switch. It would've been much more convenient and logical to place the switch on one of the speakers instead of the subwoofer. However, that's a minor issue when you consider the superlative quality and clarity of sound with these speakers. Bottom line: buy these speakers and enjoy years of worry-free operation.

    Great sound, cheap parts

I purchased these speakers earlier this year and they truly do sound amazing, and the subwoofer was quite powerful and they seemed to be worth the cost. One day I was moving my computer to another room, so, moved the speakers to that room. I unplugged the subwoofer from the speakers while doing so. I'm by no means harsh with any of my possessions, especially electronics. When I went to go plug the speakers back into the subwoofer, it would not plug in all the way. The speakers get power, but the subwoofer doesn't do anything. I looked at the plug that goes into the subwoofer to find that one of the pins had somehow gotten broken. It was past my return date with Best Buy, and upon checking online, it isn't something Klipsch replaces under warranty. The only to fix it is to completely replace the control pod on the right speaker, which is only available as a $35 part from Klipsch. Reviews on their website and many other websites all talked about how cheap that subwoofer connection is and how Klipsch has known it was bad for years and has done nothing about it. I loved the speakers, but without the subwoofer they're entirely useless to me, and I'm not paying another $35 for a control pod after spending $120 on the speakers themselves.

THese speakers are amazing. Ive seen many reviews which don't like these guys much, but I loved them. The sound quality is amazing, just like a good home theatre. The only thing is you have to know how to place them and use an equalizer. THe sub is really good, so you actually have to be a few feet away where the sound waves meet and produce the deep bass. Most people stay near to the sub and complain about it. It gets pretty loud for jus 1/4th the volume knob . They will sound TRASHY IF you CLOSE TO THE SUB . the sound is jus phenomenal . I really love the quality . Clean bass and good treble and mids . Doesn't miss any note. good stuff.

Amazing quality. I am a Bose man, and usually buy their products for phenominal, unbeatable quality and sound, but broke down and bought Klipsch and gave it a chance because I couldn't see spending so much for computer speakers. The have incredible sound and are easy to use. Some minor sound card/ tweeking may be needed to get the bass going loud, but I am happy with the plug and play levels.

I decided many years ago to never allow anything other than my own ears to decide whether speakers are good or not... and my ears have generally served me very well; I broke that rule, however, in buying these speakers, as I had to make a quick decision, and there were none available in the store to listen to. I was taken in by the "rave" reviews. If you want to produce the sort of bone-jarring low frequencies you experience in a movie theater--the kind of vibrations you feel in your chest more than your ears--you'll likely be very happy. If you want to reproduce the sort of pure, authentic sound you'd experience at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center (Dallas), you may have a harder time. Initially, I was disappointed, but after much time spent "tweeking" the Equalizer settings on my music player, I finally came up with a sound I feel happy with.... There's not that much to it. Basically, I have flat setting, above 220 Hz, but have the low frequencies substantially dampened. If you try to accomplish this just with the "Subwoofer" control on the speakers, you lose these frequencies completely. I want those frequencies, but not the "thumpiness". Aside from the exaggerated bass, they produce a clean sound. I'll keep playing with the Equalizer, as I think there's still room for improvement. .

    Amazing Speakers.....

I had my eyes on the Bose Companion 3 speakers for quite some time. I am so glad I did my homework and researched Amazon as well as the Best Buy site. I couldnt be more happy with my change of heart based on the reviews I saw here. So many of you who did your homework and really put me in the right direction. Someone said it very well... with Bose you pay for the name!!!! Enough said. I just brought these home from Best Buy. They were on sale for $119.99. I saw where people experienced a speaker blowing out and I know that Best Buy stands behind their service plan. $20 for 2 years. Covered!!!! And still less than the $154.00 regular price. I am now listening to U2 War and the sound is AMAZING!!!! The bass is so deep, punch and clear and all the sounds are so crisp and clear. I am not worried if I do experience a speaker blown out because I am covered with the service plan. $20 is well worth the insurance to know that I'll be covered. If you are in the market for some speakers dont pass these up. They sound great with my iMac!! Happy Holidays.

These speakers sound better than I could have imagined. The bass is strong and the highs/mids are crisp and clear even at very high volume. The sub will bottom out if turned way up, but there is more than enough bass to be evenly balanced. These sound as good as my home theater in my living room, just not as loud. All together vary vary pleased with my purchase.

If you plan on using this in a room smaller than 20x20ft you will be pleased with the volume and clarity of music, video audio, games, or maybe light audio mixing. Everything is well balanced unless you crank the sub up. If you can get these during a sale for $120 or less they are worth every penny. After 2 months of constant use and excellent results they will be on the desk for quite some time.

    Nice PC speakers

They do sound nice for a 2.1 set.. I liked my Logitech z5300e betters and for gaming the surround was nice- worked perfect for 11 years until had a house fire and lost everything.. Ya I guess over all the Klipsch sound better.. I bought a power strip with surge protection so can turn them off when not using them from walmart- got 2 in a pack for less than 15 dollars.. I set and leave speakers where is and make up/down volume adjustments from my pc and just hope they last.. These speakers will be ok with my new gaming build 6700k Asus Ranger and Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming vid card- just waiting on Holiday sales to buy the rest.. These speakers are loud- I listen to music everyday near all day until like 10 pm at night and I live in an apartment with older people around so will take a lil adjustment to get the sound how you want it and dial in the bass so sound good and not thump to much.. For the price and THX you cant go wrong- I got them for 109.99 and got the 2 year extended.. I was a lil upset they taxed me for the extended tho- like gees can you nickel and dime a brother or what :)

Thought I'd give a review after 2 years of ownersh

I'm really only writing this review after my roommate also purchased a brand new promedia system and after reading a couple reviews on here. It seems since the time I bought my set, and my roommate his, Klipsch has removed the simple power switch on the back of the subwoofer for whatever reason (I wonder if that may be a fix for the many units that have stopped working in the past for some users.) Though I can easily flip the switch to turn off excessive power consumption, my roommate has to rip the power cord out of the wall outlet to turn his off, doesn't bother me with my system, but for any prospective owners, it may be something worth noting. This system has truly been perfect for my gaming needs (for a non surround system, at the least), but struggled music-wise to play every note in some of the songs in my collection. Bass is excellent unless you crank it up too high, then becomes distorted. The only true problem I'm having, which could possibly be corrected with the right adapters is trying to get this 3.5mm cable to split into left and right RCA audio for my sound blaster X-FI Ti sound card. This 3.5mm jack won't give me the best audio option with this sound card, and I'm currently trying to figure out a way to change this output option. To sum it up, unless you're an extreme audiophile but you're on a basic laptop/desktop system, your mp3 media player, or any other device, this system will most probably rock your world. After two years of ownership it's still running like a beast, and the price is the same as when I bought it 2 years ago!

Fantastic sound! Great for home and small venues!

One of the small-scale configs I run as a mobile DJ uses a laptop and iPod for smaller venues like clubhouses, in-home parties, wine bars, etc. 400W pole-mounted Peavey's tend to be overkill given the cords, amps, etc involved in setting up, especially if loud, pounding music isn't necessary/expected. I bought the Klipsch system to use at these small venues where a mix of voice and music are involved. Last week I hosted a Music Trivia event at a friend's party in her home and the Klipsch's were absolutely perfect. I've owned Klipsch's as part of my home theater setup for 25+ years so sticking w/the brand was an easy choice. I drive them with a Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 external sound card and couldn't be happier - the midrange projected my voice very clearly and the bass and overall tonal range were excellent. Even when I crank the volume to the point of being uncomfortably loud, they're only at 65-70% of max and barely breaking a sweat. The system literally paid for itself the first event I worked.

Much better sound quality and volume than anything else in the store. Much louder and $100 cheaper than Bose Companion 3 (even though I have always liked Bose in the past) and close to the same quality. I highly recommend these speakers.

I bought a set of these speakers almost 6 years ago. They still sound great today, so much so that when they went on sale I snapped up another set. I'm glad I did, because I hooked it up to a new HDTV to use until I got my new sound system. Once I put in the new system, though, I was thoroughly disappointed in it and returned it because these Klipsch speakers just blew it away. The bass is incredible and these speakers are flat out amazing. I play all my music through my computer and wouldn't settle for another set after having these.
