Klipsch 2.01 Best Ever

Klipsch you continue to surprise with excellent sound. Was a bit worried buying computer speakers from one that is known for high quality sound in the stereo market. Take it from me, if you want 2.01 computer speakers these are the best you will ever find today. If you want surround for amp ala 5.1, 7.1 etc, don't know. Love controlling volume and sub volume independently and conveniently.
Absoluelty ashtonished by the sound, and I'm using on board sound.I was going to buy a PCI-X expansion sound card, but why? The speakers "speak for themselves".
Clear highs, good mid, and a killer sub. Compact and clean. Do I sound like I'm a factory guy? Nope, I'm as critical about music and sound as it gets. When in doubt, Klipsch!

I,like some other reviewers of this product, don't usually take the time to write reviews on my purchases, but this time I just had to do it.The main reason I bought the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 was due to the twelve or so fantastic reviews of this piece. I can say unequivocally I am very impressed, not only with the thunderous bass, but the real crisp highs and the tremendous mids produced by this real modest-priced system.A better deal and a greater shopping trip could not have been had by anyone else.I called the store in advance and Iwas in and out in 5 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. The best way to shop.

Got two of the Klipsch 2.1 for $119.00 a pop and cannot be happier. For some bedroom(s) system, this is it. Be it 2.1 Home theater system or for audio streaming from Spotify, you cannot spend a lot more but why? Perfect for nearfield or mid field listening. It's a Klipsch !
I cannot not even turn the Promedia 2.1 dial volume past 10 o'clock and the SQ is awesome.

You will be hard pressed to find a better value for your money with these speakers. I have known the brand for years but have never bought any. This was my splurge item with the new computer set up. When I plugged these in and turned them on I was blown away... mostly because I had them turned up about half way not realizing the sound they would put out. The sound quality is awesome and the volume is amazing. They actually put out more sound then my component system. Like anything else they have their limits and do distort a little at the highest of the volumes but unless you are trying to fill a large space with music you will probably never need to have them at that level. If you are in the market for a quality set of speakers for your computer and are a music lover do yourself a favor and buy yourself a set of these.

This is the second set of these speakers that I have purchased. The first was purchased in 2007 and finally wore out. The speakers were still solid but the volume adjustment knobs went bad. We use these for playing music through the entire house. All types of music sound good on these fantastic speakers. Do not hesitate to buy as you will not be disappointed.

Best Computer Speakers - Period

I don't post product reviews often unless I buy an exceptional product.
I'll make my review short and sweet.
I purchased this speaker (Pro Media 2.1) system back in 2002. It sounded great then but I moved in 2006 and the movers lost the subwoofer.
I used a pair of Bose Desktop speakers for about 2 years and was tired of the low bass and almost non-existant dynamic range.
I finally got tired of the Bose / gave them to my brother and got a set of these Klipsch on sale.
Man, it is too bad I suffered for 2 years listening to lousy speakers. My suggestion is buy these; test drive 'em and if you don't like them return to store. You just have to hear these speakers to believe the sound quality.

As other reviewers have noted, these boys are a little heavy on the bass, but one of the two adjustable nobs is for the subwoofer, so that hasn't gotten in the way of anything. I use them for my editing rig, and for that they've been perfectly fine. However, I'm not doing a lot of sound design, so my needs are basic. At this price range (especially if they are on sale (and they generally are)) you can't go wrong.

Easy to set up. Great, clear sound. Lacks an on - off switch. That issue can be solved by using a power strip and using that switch to turn off and on. A bit inconvenient, but workable. Have it only one day. Let's see how it stands up to the test of time. Should be fine.

Great speakers for TV

We bought these speakers as an inexpensive way to improve the sound of our 42 inch Magnavox tv .I just couldn't justify the expense of the 600 dollar bose system, which also had two speakers and a subwoofer. I needed a RCA adaptor from Radio Shack. It took about ten minutes to connect to my tv . The only thing that I miss is being able to control the sound with a remote. But the improvement is incredible. Wish I had done this a year ago. The sound is so much clearer . The subwoofer is amazing, we rewatched parts of several action movies to compare the difference. Wow what an improvement. If you are on a budget , even if you are not, I would recommend these speakers.

I never take the time to do this, but after reading the reviews of the Logitech and the Klipcsh, I just had too. Just bought a HP Pavillion 500-277 and wanted better speakers. Best Buy had the two side-by-side. The differance was noticable right away! I knew I would'nt miss the $100.00 difference.....these speakers are amazing!! Worth every penny!!

I had a set of nice bookshelf monitors before these and I found that both sounded great. Plus you get a sub with the system. It is a bit more expensive than other 2.1 but well worth the premium.
So try it out for yourself, I'm sure you will be pleased.

I've had these speakers for a few months and I got to say they sound very great. They also go very loud and sound very crisp and especially when watching action/horror movies they sound as if it were life like. The only thing I wish it had was a remote control to turn it off/on and adjust the volume. Other than that if you want great sound for movies and are looking for a lot of power I would recommend these.

After doing my homework and reading reviews and checking price I finally decided to go with it and purchased these 2.1 speakers down sizing from 5.1. Excellent sound, great base, easy to hook up and the satellite speakers are very stylish.

I was going to buy the Bose Companion 5 until my friend recommended me this Bad Boy. He let me listen to his Klipsch 2.0 Pro Media speaker and I was blown away with the quality and clarity of the sound. Great tones on mid range. The sub-woofer shook my whole second floor. I love and I have been using Bose sound systems but, this is a lot cheaper than the Bose Companion 5 with equal or greater sound quality. It saved me a lot of money to buy a tablet. Pretty Cool.
The only downside to this speaker is that it has no OFF switch. The design could be a little better, the volume and sub-woofer knobs are a little flimsy and I wish it came with a software for more preferred sound option.

I wanted some speakers to use for my computer, my LCD TV, and my ipod. I read the good reviews and at over $100 less than the bose, I decided to go for it. I have my TV and a spare stereo wire connected to the aux input via a y-adapter.
They get insanely loud for their size, and they still sound perfect at the high volumes. Great lows and mids...almost drowns out the highs, but you can adjust the bass with the knob. Sounds about right with the subwoofer near the minimum adjustment.
Everything looks very high quality. No cheap, light plastic stuff here.
Cons:
The power switch is on the back of the subwoofer. Therefore, I have to unplug the thing or crawl under my desk to turn them off. The back of the subwoofer stays really warm even when off, so I would like to turn it off.
I had to drive 40 miles to a BB that had them in stock...

The speakers sounded great for the first two weeks. Clear and punchy with plenty of highs. Unfortunately a distorted buzz started coming from the subwoofer on every bass note. I had not cranked the volume or sub past the recommended levels. Just moderate listening levels at my work desk. I returned them to my local BB and exchanged them for new, no questions asked. Hopefully that was just a random quality issue and the new pair will last many years. If not I'll be buying a different brand.

I seem to be using this system a little differently than most.
I made a deal with my wife: I would move the stereo to the basement, creating a lot more space in the living room -if- we got a HIGH QUALITY 2.1 system to replace it. I have a lot of cd's and concert dvd's and still wanted them to sound great.
Quality sound reproduction was the main goal, price being second.
A dvd/vhs player is hooked to the tv audio in. A 6 foot RCA jack to 1/8 inch (male) Y adapter runs from the tv's audio out, to the speaker system. I turned off the tv's built in speakers, so all sound comes from the Klipsch speakers. I leave the speaker volume at maximum and control the volume from all sources with the tv/cable remote. For cleaner music sound, plug a mobile player into the Klipsch's other input.
I bypassed the power switch issue by powering the speakers from my Comcast box's switched AC plug. (Set that up in the cable box menu.) One remote controls everything!

I bought these last year and ABSOLUTELY love them. I had tried the bose system at 300$ and these. The bose sounded good, but at half the price and better sound quality these klipsch 2.1's were the only way to go.Crisp highs and deep lows ( which i have NEVER needed to go past the recommended setting). I'am big on sound quality and these 2.1's are up for the task.....
