Best 2.1 Set up for the Money

Tired of changing between set ups trying to find the right balance of bass, treble, and affordability, I went to the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 set up. The satellites are much higher quality than any other computer speakers you'll see, rivaling sets 2-3 times the cost.
The subwoofer is compact, but produces deep smooth bass.
Overall there's nothing not to like about this set up. This is the ideal near field listening set up, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I was looking for a reasonably priced audio system for my living room to play movie audio and music while hosting guests in my house and for my own pleasure. You can certainly go with 2.0 systems but you better have an amplifier for them. This 2.1 system works well - it has deep bass and sounds well in the whole frequency range. It is also well made and leaves an impression of a good quality product that will last.

I read the feedback on this speaker system before I went to the store.
When I heard them I was sold , I had to get them.
They are the best sounding speakers at Best Buy. IMO
I think they sound better than my old Logitech 5.1 system.
A bit pricey , but more than half the price of a comparable Bose system.
Get a set now.

These speakers will blow your head off if you turn them all the way up. You'll also be amazed by the clarity of their output. These speakers are a very reasonable size and will fit on almost any computer desk. You can not beat the price either. If you don't have some yet, I would go and buy them before they're gone.

I am very shocked on the bass and sound of this Klipsch Promedia 2.1. I have always wanted a set but tonight I went ahead and bought it. I was very impressed on the bass sound then I had realized that the bass knob was basically turned out. I cranked it all the way and incredible. I will buy another one for my work machine.

I really struggled in deciding whether to get the Bose Companion 3 system, the Bose SoundDock Series II, the Klipsch iGroove SXT, or the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system. I don't have an iPod, but the iPod systems work great for my laptop setup. I currently have the older Klipsch iGroove HG iPod system which when hooked up with a subwoofer has been the best sounding small system I have ever heard - bar none (heavy duty use for over 2 years now). I am setting up a location in another town and don't want to transport anything besides my laptop so I need to buy another system, but I found out the old Klipsch iGroove isn't sold in the US anymore. After listening to all the systems in the store, I was undecided which system I liked best - my decision to purchase was finally based on the fact that since I don't have an iPod, and since the system choice was difficult based on sound quality (at least in the store), there was no need to pay for technology that I wasn't going to use so I bought the Klipsch Pro-Media system as it is designed specifically for computers. I am sitting in my office listening to the system, and I am absolutely amazed at how good it sounds. If your primary objective is sound quality - something you can listen to for hours on end without listening fatigue - you cannot go wrong with this system.

Awesome Sound System At Awesome Price!

First of all, don't listen to the other ignorant users complaining about this great system. (Subwoofer is too loud? ARE YOU SERIOUS?)
I wanted to but me a set of speakers for my computer and I came across the More expensive Bose System. I was ready to purchase since I knew I couldn't go wrong with Bose until I noticed the Klipsch system. I gave it a try and Boy did it surprise me!
It was just so loud / it made the logitech set next to it sound like garbage. Even the more expensive Bose Companion sets couldn't touch this. Crisp Sound / No static whatsoever!
Dont' listen to other user complaining about static and whatnot. I have a creative X-Fi Titanium sound card and sound is crystal clear. I'm telling ya, words cannot do justice to hearing it in person. Heck even the store display won't sound as good until you get your own and take it home. For some reason the best buy I went to had the display playing a country music station. Once I got it home I opened it up, played Band of Brothers / Modern Warfare 2 oh GOODNESS!

For the price, outstanding performance. Clarity, good base response from the sub-woofer. I have a Bose system and this gives similar performance at a fraction of the price.

You have no reason not to buy this, it is worth every single cent you spend on it. The sound quality is amazing, the subwoofer is powerful. This little system can rock your house easily. If your thinking Bose, save yourself some money and get this system instead. The speakers and subwoofer may be a little larger, but its worth the extra space. Movies, games, music there is nothing that doesn't sound good on these speakers, even Windows Vista starting up!!

Great sound for a fair price

These speakers were purchased to replace my well used Altec Lansing ADA-885 speaker system that suffered from a failed subwoofer amplifier. The Pro Media 2.1 offers a rather well balanced audio spectrum at a fair price.I especially enjoy the fact that the satellite speakers contain an actual tweeter as opposed to many multimedia systems that offer small paper cone drivers to deliver the midrange and high frequencies. The aux input is a very handy feature that functions nicely with the headphone output from a TV creating a nice sounding small AV system in collaboration with a laptop on the main input. The sound quality from FLAC files on the laptop is comparable with larger full range stereo speakers that I have owned in the past.Since the crossover point is rather high, subwoofer placement can be critical in order to get a well balanced sound between the sub and satellites.Place the sub in the center of the satellites at an equal distance to avoid the lower frequencies sounding like they are only on the left or right channel.I would recommend these speakers to anyone looking to assemble a small yet powerful 2.1 audio system.

Best computer speakers for your money

I have used this system for a solid 30-days. I have watched movies, played games, and listened to music. I have to say these speakers blow me away. The highs are perfect and the lows are so deep. I have them plugged into a Sound Blaster X-Fi Go! and I can fine tune with a graphic equalizer.
Pros: Amazing sound even at lower volumes. I am afraid to turn it past 1/2, they will blow me out of my chair!!!
Cons: Wires, but I could of went with the wireless version. No on/off switch. I feel they should come with some type of sound adjustment software for the best performance.

They sound great, much more crisp and clear than my logitech x-530 set it replaced due to the logitech system blowing the right speaker all of a sudden (had that set for quite a few years anyway). Only complaint is there's no wall mounting option so I had to mod the stand.

These speakers are fantastic for the price. I couldn't be happier. I had a 5.1 Philips receiver and speaker system before this and this makes that system sound awful. I am happy I spent this money. The speakers are heavy duty and work flawlessly.

Better than our Bose in the office

We have the Bose companion 5 series speakers in the office and these are on par or better than those for a fraction of the price. Picked them up black friday for <100 without hearing them first, but the ratio of positive reviews to the number of reviews made this purchase a no brainer. Completely satisfied. I listen to them at all levels of bass and volume, only thing I ever hear rattling is my house. These things are solid and great quality. I brag about them to anyone willing to listen to me. I've noticed best buy has these on sale several times a year, but either way if you buy these you won't be disappointed.

I have purchased several types and brands of computer speaker systems in my life. I'm 49 years old and owned my own computer store back in the 90's, I also am somewhat of a sound tech, it's never good enough, always tweaking the EQ, upgrading my speakers, amps etc... You get the picture.. This computer sound system is one of the most amazing systems I have ever heard! I mean they rival large component systems! I have compared these to Bose, Infinity, Pioneer, JVC, Harman Kardon, JBL, Sony, Creative, Logitech and on and on........ These beat all of them! Not just for the money either! Sound is 100% mind blowing! Stop looking and buy these!

Great Balanced sound

I needed to replace an old Logitech 2.1 system where the cord had been damaged. I did a little research and found these Klipsch were in my range. I was intrigued since I know Klipsch makes descent speakers. I tried them in the store and thought they were pretty good, definitely better than my old Logitech setup. And they were cheaper by a bit than the Logitech set I bought over five years ago. Once I got them home and set up they seemed a bit flat, especially on the high end. But once I positioned them off the desk and about ear level they sounded better. Once I messed with the treble and base setting as well as my iTunes equalizer they really came alive. I also think they may have needed to be broken in a little. Once I used them for about ten hours they really improved. The sound stage is well defined and the tone is balanced from low to high frequency. Nothing dominates too much. They are a little too warm, but that mellowness is welcomed at my desk while working or reading. I've also noticed they give older recordings and acoustic recordings a nostalgic feeling that I really like. I highly recommend these and I would at twice the price.

I am waiting for them to go on sale so I can buy another set. They have a very full sound for as small as they are. Large range of bass control on the subwoofer....no need to turn it up all the way. Great speaker.
