I hooked this up to my TV using a Stereo F/M RCA Y-Cable. The speakers are designed for a computer but it works great for your TV. It has better sound than other more expensive systems I have had. Movie dialog comes through clear and the bass is sufficient. Excellent sound for music as well. Impressed.

Considered a number of options but choose the Promedia due to the Klipsch name and solid reviews. I have not been disappointed. These speakers offer clear highs and bass that is controllable depending on the type of music that you like.

The only downside to this unit was the price, but you definitely get what you pay for. The sound is incredible. I listened to the in-store unit before buying and read reviews of others who's unit lasted many years. I can't even say I've had it at the highest volume. It's super loud at only 20%!!!

Nothing negative to say, they are by far the best set I've ever had for my computer, they can literally rumble my entire house. I originally bought the more expensive Bose set that had a bigger sub (~$350 forget the exact model) and was not satisfied with the quality for the price and immediately bought the Klipsch set after reading reviews, not only does it outperform the Bose but it's $200 cheaper. I have not been disappointed they have incredible sound and at an affordable price.

    Amazing Quality Great Entertainment Speakers

I'll keep this short and sweet. The sound quality from these Klipsch speakers is amazing. Even while watching Netflix movies they feel and sound very cinematic. The base is very good, maybe better than the speakers. My concern: I setup the speakers no problem following the instructions to the "T". I set the computer systems internal sound to 70% as the instructions suggested and set the speakers themselves to below 30% area on the dial. That plays well loud enough, these things can get loud!! Now I hear a bit of static after one use when watching Netflix movies. I'm not sure if I've already blown the speakers out or what. I don't see how by following the instructions for the sound settings right on I could already be hearing a bit of static? Maybe its just Netflix because in during gaming they sound fine.

    Great sound, ugly industrial design

The speakers were a breeze to set up. Don't let the sound demo in the store fool you. Next to the Bose these speakers did not sound as good in the demo, but it;s a demo with specially formulated mixes set up to impress you. Whereas the demo for these was just plain music coming from a CD/radio. The sound is unreal, it reproduces beautiful, full range 3d sound to the point where you can close your eyes and 'see' the position of the instruments relative to your sitting position. I got these on a cyber Monday deal at under $100 so the value is fantastic. The only complaint so far is the speakers are ugly, not as pretty as Bose speakers.

I replaced a set of Altec Lansing speakers with this set, and boy was I blown away by the sound of this 2.1 systen, wow! - I totally enjoy listening to my MP3s where the speakers splendidly show the difference between 128 kBit/sec and 320 kBit/sec sampled MP3s. Also enjoy watching movies via NetFlix with these speakers. Only thing I found disturbing that these speakers do not come with a On/Off switch, and that the green power lights stays on always. I am not sure if the speakers actually go into standby when not in use for a certain number of minutes. The manual does not mention anything. Hoping the speakers are not drawing power when in use I can absolutely and very highly recommend this 2.1 set. You won't be disappointed!

Best sounding 2.1 Best Buy offers

I received this 2.1 set for Christmas, and these sound awesome. I really can't tell you how great these sound, but in order to get the most out of these, you have to have a great sound card. My laptop has an HD sound card so these sound great. The clarity from the satellite speakers is amazing, they look like something you would see in a music studio, and the sub is a great size, and it sounds deep, and punchy. I just wish that the sub could hit lower notes at louder volumes without bottoming out as much in music. But, any audiophile knows that Klipsch is and will ALWAYS be better for movies than music, the way they manufacture their speakers is for clarity and accuracy. I tested these THEN the Bose, and the Bose and NOTHING on these speakers. The only thing Bose was better at was the presentation set-up in Best Buy. The sub sounded weak, and the satellites sounded powerless and they were not worth the price at all. Get these, you will not regret it.

    Better than Bose

I wouldn't even consider buying a different computer sound system. These speakers are wonderful, and the sub-woofer is way better than I expected. These come with an extremely handy knob for the main volume/sub-woofer, located on the right speaker. I actually keep the volume and sub-woofer set at 1/4th of the max range. When I turn this bad boy to full, I can hear/feel my music throughout the entire house and even outside. The sub-woofer turned to max feels like a mini jet engine at my feet. I absolutely love this sound system, and it is perfect for my Netflix and gaming needs. My only problem is that I had to have geek squad fix a speaker after 2 months of use, but that really wasn't any problem.

Great with an Aluratek Internet Radio

Bought the speakers to use with an Aluratek AIRMM01F Wireless Internet Radio. They are a perfect match. Most Internet broadcasts are CD quality and the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speaker System makes the most of those high quality tunes. No extra connection cables were needed. The supplied headset plug functions perfectly with the radio. FYI, set the speaker volumes to "minimum" before turning on a connected Aluratek radio, then adjust the speaker volumes to your preference after turning on the radio. I found setting the radio volume to "10" and the speakers' volume controls to an 1/8 - 1/4 turn past minimum is perfect.

Nothing else in its class performs like it!

Coming from my other pro-audio equipment and studio monitors, I was pleasantly surprised to hear what this system was capable of. The system is equipped with a powerful sub and 2 very capable satellite speakers. Subwoofer sounds great and commands quite a lot of power and heft in its sound! It's not going to outperform a 10" HT sub or anything, but it's stellar considering its size (and price, of course). The satellites sound pretty great! Nice clarity and they have the ability to set up a very convincing soundstage where vocals are seamless and give the 'vision' of the vocalist being dead-center in the soundscape. A couple of things to be aware of: -The system can be super loud. Surprisingly loud. Prepare yourself to never turn the volume above 40% without fear of upsetting neighbors. -Subwoofer is also super loud. My subwoofer level is at about 20%, which is where it sounds best in my setup. Try and place the sub in a left-side corner so the woofer can fire to the right and the port is facing frontwards. -You may get hissing or buzzing, BUT THIS IS NOT DUE TO THE SYSTEM. If you get hissing or buzzing, remember the old tale from physics: Always have your signal wires crossing your power wires at 90-degree angles. I had buzzing when the system was first set up and was a bit disappointed. Then I went and looked at where the signal wire (headphone line w/ green jack) was routed and noticed it was alongside the control wire that goes from the satellite to the sub for most of its path. This added an awful buzzing sound. I properly routed the headphone line to cross all wires perpendicularly and ALL BUZZING WAS GONE. Proper cable management wins again! -At first glace, the system has high THD ratings compared to pro-audio and Home Theater solutions, but that has nothing to do with the inherent quality of the sound. Just b/c it isn't 100% accurate to the signal being input doesn't imply that it sounds bad. Usually this is b/c of custom EQ, DSP, speaker coloring that is present in the manufacturer design. Things that rock: Soundstage and imaging Powerful, solid sound Incredible amount of headroom for high volume situations Aux-in and headphone jack on the satellite speaker panel (super useful!) Things that I'd like to see in an improved version: Adjustable crossover True system on/off switch on the satellite speaker panel Replaceable 3.5mm stereo cable (so you could use a better-shielded one) -10dB pad for loud sources All-in-all, this speaker set is totally recommended. There is nothing else that is near its performance in this class.

Fantastic Speakers, but maybe too much for me.

Overview: Honestly, these speakers are great. Sound quality is superb and I haven't had so much as a single hiccup from these babies. But- I personally don't feel they're worth it for the cost. Now I'm not an audiophile and I just want to clarify this. When I listen to music I hear the music and not just the quality of its reproduction... I think I would have been very happy with a $30-$40 set- probably just as happy as I am with these. Maybe they'll convert me, but honestly to the casual listener the difference is barely noticeable in head-to-head tests and with solo play as you'll most often use them I simply can't justify the pricetag when compared to the alternatives. Pros: +Great Bass +Great Sound +Took these things home for Christmas, and only managed to get to 1/4 total volume before being yelled at by my mother to turn that damned music down. +Plays all types of music well and is certainly sufficient for gaming +Meets all needs of a set of speakers Cons: -Cost Other: *No power switch, I thought this was a bit weird. Just turn it down all the way to avoid drawing power, or so says the manual.

I have been watching these speakers ever since they first came out. Couldn't afford them at that time. I was shocked when I saw them re-released at Best Buy. I had made enough money from side jobs to finally purchase them. Sound better than I imagined - great bass.
