After 7 years, one of the speakers of my much loved 2.1 Logitech system crapped out and it was time to look for something new. After much research I had to decide on a system optimized for gaming or music. Since I do very little gaming, it was an easy choice after listening to this Klipsch system. I am very happy with the sound and hope they last as long as my previous system. Much better than the current offerings by Logitech and Boston Acoustics. YMMV As a side note, I have repurposed the sub from the old Logitech system and hooked it up to two BIC Venturi bookshelf speakers I got on the cheap and now have a kick-a** 2.1 system for the TV to combine with the soundbar.

Amazing quality sound. I appreciate that the cords are long so they can reach my computer; however, this might be too much for people who have a computer right by their speakers. Also, the current picture does not show the covers that the two speakers have. They are solid black and conceal the moving parts of the speaker.

Nice clear and clean sound and I listen to bass heavy EDM. Get's louder than you can stand when sitting in front of it. Blows the Bose stuff out of the water. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Anything branded with the name Klipsch is a winner. When I first tried this unit out at Best Buy, I was blown away. This system deliver rich, clear, full bodied sound. At the time, it by far was the most superior system Best Buy was offering by a landslide. Don't hesitate at all in taking this one home. Enjoy!!

If you are like me you read these reviews before making a purchase. But there are a lot of variables to consider, not the least of which is the expertise of the reviewer. Someone not familiar with high fidelity might give a review that is flawed because of their lack of experience with high quality sound. That is not the case here. I have considerable experience with high fidelity going back to the late 1970's. This little Klipsch speaker system is amazing. Considering that I am using the sound card that came with my computer, it's incredible. We all know it's all about the bass (not really) and the sub can rattle your fillings. You want volume? No problem. Even louder? Can do. I remain very impressed with how well it performs all across the audio spectrum. I could not be more pleased. Concerning some minor points I read in other reviews let me speak to just two. There is no power switch. Once plugged in it stays on. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. I also recall reading some comments about over driving the sub at high volumes. That's nonsense. The sub output control only has to be turned a hair to produce some serious rafter shaking bass. I have no idea why anyone would use anymore bass boost let alone use so much that they over drive the speaker. That is also a non-issue. I have only good things to say about this computer speaker system and if I were you, I would buy it.

I am very serious about my sound and this system delivers. The overall sound package is very expansive and accurate, even given the tiled room and not so ideal placement at the moment. I hear all of the details I can hear with good headphones and a pretty close to spot on frequency response with super clean volume- the kind of clean where I don't realize how loud it is until I step out of the room for something. As for pretty close to spot on frequency response, I'm extremely picky about sound and right out of the box, running any source flat with zero EQ, (which I wholeheartedly recommend first) I have been completely content and wowed. And the low end is just killer. Thick, full, yet tight, and I have yet to even have it beyond 8 to 9 o'clock, never mind the 10 o'clock sweet spot they have marked. I do have the sub on the floor and against the wall, as it should be, and almost directly below the satellites. Having the sub in a corner to get the most of the low end response is not even necessary. The lows are that deep. No artificial low end boost needed via EQ at all. They're most certainly not hollow and just boomy- very clean and enjoyable bass TONES, not just thump and bump. If you have thin walls, prepare to be nagged!! The actual volume is hard to predict as with my roomates I have not had the need, or the ability, to have it past 10 o'clock thus far. The couple times it was even that far, the whole house could clearly hear what I had playing. As for music, which is all I've done with them so far, I listen to everything from old Van Halen, to Kieko Matsui, to Bjork, to Pantera, and everything flys perfectly.. For THE MONEY, the only thing close I saw was Logit**c and sorry, they'll just never come close. Hey, If I'm wrong, along with many others it seems, so you have to make a trip back to either spend way more unnecessarily, or end up with far less sound quality. Happy Listening..

All I Can Say is WOW!

I just hooked these up and I thought I should preview a movie before time to eat supper. So I started watching The Revenant using VLC Media player. I had the audio on my pc set at 31 and turned up the speakers to about 25%. They sound loud, clear but just a tiny bit muddied. So i paused the movie, went to the equalizer settings and set it on Live. I then slightly moved the sliders up in the high frequency section and resumed my movie. There's that WOW! Man, when the bear attacks the guy you better stand back. I closed my eyes and I could swear there was a bear on me. Whew! I sure am glad I got these. Now if they'll last for a few years I'll be happy. Awesome Speakers!

I bought this system for a small den where I'm running a Mac mini and several different gaming systems. I was skeptical about the quality at first and didn't think I would be happy with it because it was replacing a 9 year old Bose system and I wasn't able to hear it in the store. Setup was very easy and I'm very impressed with the sound quality for this price range! Most systems at this price range I find don't give you enough boom for your buck, but this Klipsch can really rattle a room. This system has an adjustable control for the subwoofer and is capable of operating at a high volume with minimal distortion. I've used it for gaming, movies and music, and I find the sound clarity to be very good and I don't have to operate this system at max. I've been so impressed with this system that I'm actually thankful I didn't wast the money to buy another Bose!

Tweak the media player equalizer for great sound

The ProMedia 2.1s really are great sounding once you spend some time adjusting the media player graphic equalizer (see attached photo of my settings). Straight out of the box, the sound seemed noticeably flat and quite ordinary until I found the right equalizer settings for my aged ears. I suspect those reviewers that found the sound quality poor either didn't or couldn't adjust their player for optimal sound quality or should be spending more cash to suit their high expectations. Sure, you can find better sound for two or three times the price but for a computer or mp3 player? Set up was easy but, just as with any other amp and speaker setup, pay attention that the red striped wires go into the red retainers and the black into black - it's a polarity thing. I can't speak for the system durability as I have only played about 50 songs through it. The only negative is that there is no power switch necessitating the use of a power strip to turn off the AC power to the subwoofer. That aside, I am pleased with my purchase.

Purchased these speakers after returning cheaper Creative Bluetooth speakers. I wanted the wireless solution, but was VERY surprised by the quality that came in this product. There is plenty of wire available for speaker configurations. I cranked these up to the loudest setting and they held on without distorting. The subwoofer packs plenty of punch. Do yourself a favor and stop looking at other purchase decisions and buy the Klipsch speakers. There is a reason that George Lucas branded them with his "THX" badging.

Great sound in a small package. The only way I have found to get better sound is with a full sound system, be it a stereo system or surround sound, but if you are trying to stick with a smaller package that fits a desk and gives great sound, this is what you want. Klipsch does not compromise on sound to make a compact system. I was impressed by the range of this system, and it surpassed my expectations. the 2 way speakers have a very crisp high end and good range, and the sub has more power then a system of this size needs. The cables are more then long enough to fit your average desk, and you are not stuck with the volume on one speaker, as true to a good audio system, the speakers are the same, the volume control attaches to it. (or you could even stick the volume control somewhere else with some sticky tape, or tuck it out of the way) The sub can overpower the speakers, but they make it easy to adjust with the sub level right next to the volume. This is also great to go between a game where you want that extra kick, to silencing the sub when your room mate is trying to sleep. The aux input and head phone jacks are in a bit of an odd spot but give a cleaner appearance. The downside to the aux input is that it doesn't have its own volume, so when you do connect a phone or mp3 player, you need to balance it's volume with your computer using their independent volumes. Both the aux input and main input are quite sensitive to static when unplugged, and there is no power button, so remember to turn the volume down first. The one thing I don't like about this system is there is no power button to turn the system off, and the power light is quite bright. It would be nice if the speakers could be wall mounted for a cluttered or small desk, but I still love them.

Being an owner of theolder ProMedia 4.1 and 5.1 Ultra THX systems, I can POSITIVELY say that this 2.1 system DOES NOT dissapoint! Same great Klipsch sound quality and volume you'd expect from a brand like Klipsch. For looks and sound, satellites are virtually identical to the ones you get with the 4.1 system, with the control pod on the bottom of one of them to adjust volume and bass, and the headphone jack on the side of the pod. The subwoofer is considerably smaller than the one offered with the ProMedia 4.1 system however, I was pleasantly surprised by the output of it. At high volumes, It's output is lower than the 4.1's due to the smaller, single driver design, but don't let the size fool you, this sub is more than enough for any small to mid-sized room, and WILL rattle the windows AND shake the walls! As a proud owner of the entire Klipsch ProMedia line (with the exception of the GMX series), i can say that the 2.1 system does not disappoint. It will smash ALL OTHER speaker systems in it's price-point, and provides the best bang-for-the-buck! The only other system on the market that can compete with the ProMedia 2.1 system is the Bose Companion 2.1 however, you will pay approx 2-3 times more for them.

This is my second set of these Klipsch 2.1 speakers that I've purchased. I still own the first set. I bought a second setup for my dad. He walked into my office one day and heard my Klipsch 2.1 setup and he couldn't believe it. So, I went out and bought him a set, too. He's absolutely floored with the sound these little speakers produce. Don't let their size fool you! Needless to say, these speakers are hands down the best speakers I've ever heard for a PC setup. I also own a Logitech 5.1 Z906 setup and these Klipsch speakers blow them away. They seriously sound as if you have some major high-end equipment setup (not to say that Klipsch isn't high-end). For reference, I also own Klipsch Reference Series speakers for my 5.1 home theater system; so I'm pretty picky when it comes to quality audio and like I said, these little puppies do quite an amazing job producing good low-end sound with the sub and nice punchy mids-to-highs with the satellite speakers. I promise you, you won't be disappointed. Everyone is always telling me how great these speakers sound and are 10/10 shocked when I tell them the price! haha.

I'm a huge fan of Klipsch speakers. I have them for my main stereo system and they are amazing. So when my sub-woofer on my computer speakers died I decided to check out the Klipsch computer speakers. I thought for sure at their size they wouldn't be anywhere near as powerful as they are. My computer is in a 21*21 room and they fill the room with high quality sound. I have the sub-woofer on the suggested setting and it BOOMS. Base in music is so good. When playing video games it brings the game to life. Mids and highs are also very clear in music and games. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the sound from these speakers. I highly suggest them for anyone wanting great sound for their computer system.

I bought the first generation of Klipsch Pro Audio speakers when they were introduced about 12 years ago. They were amazing speakers and blew me away back then and I never stopped loving them. Many computers came and went, but the speakers were rock solid for over a decade. I finally decided to replace them and after shopping around and listening to every set of speakers in this price range, I decided that these were the clear choice to buy again. I hooked them up about a month ago and they sound great. They are also much cheaper than they were 12 years ago! At this price, there is no reason to look at cheap speakers. The Klipsch is a tremendous value. Just buy them!

I have no idea why folks spend upwards of $500 or more on computer speakers when these can be had for so much less. These sound way better. The only thing that may sound better is a Sonos 5, and that doesn't have the bass to match. I have had an earlier pair of these for 10+ years and needed another set for a new computer set up. Am happy these are still available - really great highs, nice bass, very balanced sound overall. The horn tweeters also provide the classic Klipsch sound (that I like) and are very efficient - a given amount of power produces more sound with these speakers. There's a reason they're still in production in favor of other/newer models from Klipsch.

Generally speaking I am very pleased with this purchase although I had to return the first speaker system because of a loose DIN connector. The replacement speaker system works perfectly and I'm very pleased with the sound. It's well balanced and a little on the bright side which is how I like my music. That being said, the low end is strong enough to rattle your windows if that's what you want to do. I don't think I could get anything better sounding than the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 without spending a lot more money. For my purposes they're ideal. Speakers are very subjective and you really should listen to them if possible before buying. However, Best Buy has an excellent return policy and I'm sure you would be able to return the speakers if you were unhappy with them. As for me, I'm happy with the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system.

This is my second set of these since 2004. My original set were broken in a cross country move so I purchased these to replace the originals. I have used several brands of 2.1 speakers on my computers and have heard most of the others available because I used to do in home computer service. Much of what you hear depends on a 'Good ' sound card. If you don't have a good sound card or at least very good on board sound, then you will hear junk. "Junk in Junk Out". For this price range these speakers can't be beat if they have a decent sound card, and they will last forever unless you unplug them every day and continually use the controls roughly. They produce good sound but don't expect the sound of $800 computer speakers. Excellent Quality and Great buy! Even though I have seen more expensive speakers that didn't perform near as well.these. Just Buy'em and enjoy!
