Well worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this around black Friday 2016 during a half price sale, what a bargain! This thing rocks my entire 6 bedroom Victorian house at a little over 1/2 gain. It's used solely for HT. Neighborhood actually thought I had a pet T-Rex after watching Jurassic World a few times. Have it hooked up to an Onkyo TX-NR646 with an enormous JBL LC2 center and 6 mini Advents (a clue as to my age) on a 7.1 or Atmos 5.1 coupled with a Bravia 65"4K The Klipsch Reference 12 replaced an elderly Yam*ha 12" 100 watt sub that I thought was great until it gave up the ghost and replaced with the Klipsch. Was initially going to get (2) for a complete 7.(2) system, BUT, there is NO need for 2 of these monsters. Bottom line, its the heart of the system, it delivers smiles and wow factor to all who hear it. Definitely a worth while investment, plus, it makes raising dinosaurs believable!

Quality Subwoofer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently upgraded to this from a few-years-old JBL 8in entry level sub and wow, this sub absolutely bangs. I've had it for a few months now and it sounds great with anything I've thrown at it. Movies, TV, and all kinds of music. I have it hooked up in my medium-large living room and has no problem filling the room with beautiful, clean bass. Running it with the LFE and the gain at maybeeeee 1/4 or not even. Within the first few days I had it, I watched Ex Machina on my system- this sub made the whole movie so much more intense. Pictures on the wall and other things in my living room room were literally shaking with all the ambient music and tones within the movie. Again, this is only with the gain at maybe a quarter of the way, this thing can probably do much more, but for now this is PLENTY of bass. Overall, a nice, quality woofer. Very happy with the purchase.

Great Sub!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the low end from this sub! For a long time I didn’t even consider having a sub because I had all 3 way speakers with a 15” woofer in each. It wasn’t till recently that I wanted to get more clarity from my speakers (and my wife wanted a living room without five 3 way speakers- lol). I was afraid I would sacrifice clarity for low end. With this sub, that is certainly not the case. The low end punch and power I thought would be gone was not only there, but was even more present than expected. I had to turn it down and it still shakes the walls! I love it! Not so sure about my wife but she tolerates it for me. I would definitely recommend this sub to anyone looking for some great low end out of there sound system!

So far great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile but I do appreciate good sound and generally know when I hear it. I got the whole set of reference speakers on Black Friday. Honestly I wouldn't have been able to talk the significant other into a purchase like this if it wasn't for the half off. That being said these speakers pack some real bang for the buck. Even at full price I think they would be reasonably priced. I have the whole set paired to a Yamaha rxa 760. The base at first sounded terrible after I did the ypao...automatic speaker calibration...super boomy and undefined. The trick was to set all the satellite speakers as small and cross everything over at 80hz....HUGE DIFFERENCE. Base is now really precise and the crossover region sounds a lot better. Great sub. Shakes the walls on movies and sounds good when turned down for rock, country, classic music.

Klipsch SW 12"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This sub is highly recommended if matching with the Klipsch R-28F's floorstanding speakers. This sub is for the price to value & performance is unmatched. I purchased this sub as part of my home theatre system which includes the above referenced R-28's. Black Friday special made this buy an even sweeter deal. Though the Klipsch were not on display in the Magnolia theatre department I have listened to them and they sounded awesome. I am in by no means an audiophile or an expert by any means but I have always enjoyed great sounds to include clear highs, mids, and lows with low distortion and great clarity. Keep in mind the quality also depends on the audio source that feeds this sub; as in any high quality home speaker system. The Reference series will not disappoint especially for the great price Best Buy had to offer during Black Friday.

Incredible bass
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought this sub with a pair of R-260-f. My wife and I were watching a tv show and hadn't noticed anything mind blowing. Very clear though. Turned out the show we were watching didn't have any bass. I turned on some music and was blown away. It was extremely clear, but so loud it was rattling every window in my house. I actually had to turn it down because it was starting to give me a headache. Definitely worth every penny.

1st ever SubWoofer; Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1. My 1st external SubWoofer. Love it..... 2. Like the adjustability. After Geek install I had to tone it down or would have blown windows and ears out.... The effect and quality of the unit is terrific. 3. This sure adds a lot to a home theatre system..... Thanks

Open box item
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was surprised to see this as an open box item. Even more surprised it was eligible for shipping since there were none locally. I always thought open box availability was local only. But about the sub... this is my second one. Not because the first was damaged, I added a second to my home theater to balance it out. One would have been just fine. I barely have it up and my Denon AVR-4400H still says turn it down during the Audessy setup. Which is quite impressive since I have 130w each channel. It’s well rounded and sounds amazing. Especially with some Stevie Ray Vaughan or some old Eric Clapton jamming. I ran a few audio tests and the sub does get lower than advertised. At an inaudible 5hz I could feel vibrations but couldn’t hear them. IMPRESSIVE!

Great sub
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sub-woofer has deep bass. I have it right in the corner of my living room and it can fill the whole room when you want it to. It has a gain knob in the back so you can adjust the amount of bass you want if it differs from song to song or turn it off completely if your're watching movies when the rest of the family is asleep. It also has a frequency pass through filter to adjust the max frequency that is routed to the sub-woofer instead of your main speakers. Truth be told the sub is probably overkill for my setup. The 10" would have been fine.

Great Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I just bought a home and we wanted something we would be able to us with the speaker system we had installed to entertain for the holidays, when we have friends and family over and for a movie night. This sub help bring to life every room we have on the main floor and is better than a movie theater in or family room. This was the last piece we needed to complete our set up and it has more than enough power than we will ever need. I hooked this system up as soon as we moved in so we could listen to music as we moved and my wife said it was way too loud but caught her as I was moving a truck in with it turned up even l louder than I had it to start. She tells me that it is too loud but loves it. I can't wait for the football games for today.

Good Bass for the Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought some book shelf speakers for a home billiards room and wanted to add some bass to the room to enhance the overall sound. I went online and saw a lot of positive reviews for the Klipsch 10 inch reference. I was going to buy one and found that the 12" had an extra 100 watts and was just 100.00 more. I put it in a big room over the garage and at half volume it does the job nicely. I do not require a lot of bass yet when I turned the gain up just past half it could be felt across the room with no problem - and still sound good. For those who want to feel the sound this one will definitely do it. I believe Klipsch also has a wireless solution if hiding cables or putting the sub on the opposite side of the room is required. So for a 450.00 sub this was a great choice and have recommended this to friends and family as well.

Great sound/great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I added this to my system which consisted of two RF-28’s, two bookshelves, and a center. The towers, initially, allowed for a well balanced sound but the were never made to push the type of bass a sub will. Last piece of the puzzle really not only added deep, smooth, and powerful bass but it allowed the other speakers to be tuned more within their intended frequency ranges. Plan on buying another and doing a 7.2 setup but not out of a lack of power or sound, just to say I have two:) Side note: my sub is turned between 1/4-1/2 volume. I don’t have the best or most powerful amplifier so it can easily drown out the mids and highs.

Audiophile quality at a reasonable price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this subwoofer to go with four new Polk T15 bookshelf speakers (two front and two surround), an old Sony SS-CN550H center speaker, and an old Infinity RS-1 bookshelf surround back speaker, to form a home theater system for my LG TV. The system is all connected to a Sony STR-DH750 receiver. The 200 watts RMS and 400 watts peak power provided by this subwoofer are crossed over to by the receiver at 80 Hz (for the time being, I may still experiment with different crossover settings), freeing up the all of the receiver's power to drive the other much smaller speakers very loudly without clipping. The bass provided by this subwoofer is deep, but still punchy, and the different bass note frequencies are clearly discernable. It sounds equally impressive with music or movies.

Should come with shelf tape.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your currently using any kind of smaller cheaper powered sub this will be the best purchase you can make for a home theater. The lows this thing pounds out will annoy nieghbors and clear off your wives knick-knacks from the shelves. Probably both within the first 10 min of using it. It loves the volume. It easily reaches the point where people will ask if you could turn it down. That being said once the glee of its intense sound wears off and your neighbor or wife are questioning your purchase it also sounds amazing at normal levels. Very very good crisp sound at very low notes. It is large in size but its a 12" sub and it performs like a massive sub-box should. Crank up the Michael Bay collection.

An excellent subwoofer for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this online to get the special pricing. This concerned me due to the subs weight but it was delivered without any damage at all even to the outer packaging. I have a very high end audio setup and this sub was purchased as a second in a home theater 9.2 setup. The first sub I paid almost 2K for and is twice as big as this one with a much more powerful response but again it was 2 grand. I left the system with just this sub for a little while and I was very impressed with its response. more than enough for the average home setup and for the price one heck of a deal

Excellent sound, easy setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went to store with intent to by a different brand/size. Had researched this one as well. When I got to the store this one was on sale. Despite being larger than the one I intended to buy (10" intended, 12" actually purchased) I bought this one based on the reviews, the Klipsch name and better price. Once home and hooked up, took just a couple of minutes to do by the way, and another couple to dial in the settings the way I wanted, I'm VERY happy with it! It provides the extra bass I wanted and thumps quite well when needed without being over powering. I usually watch TV shows with this and some movies. Music as well when cleaning the house....sounds great across the board.

Nice to feel the bass again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not an audiophile so can’t speak to how well this delivers across the range. Just wanted some good rumbles to go along with movies we watch. Wow! Does this deliver and then some. The kids actually complained a little at first about how loud it was, until I explained that it was barely turned up. Back to the movie sound, had an older Polk 10” which went bad a few years ago, kept meaning to replace it just never got around to it. Didn’t realize what we were missing. Adds a whole new dimension to movie watching. Feeling the walls and couch rumble during a movie is something else. Would definitely recommend.

Wow!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally hooked this subwoofer up to my sound system. I'm running a Marantz SR6011 Receiver, a pair of Klipsch R-28F Floor standing speakers, and a pair of Klipsch R-15 for surround speakers. I have it set to the LFE mode. Oh my! what a difference it made. I watched a movie that I had currently seen so I new the all the sound effects in it. It added a whole new dimension to the sound, the intensity and rumbling that this subwoofer produced during those same sound effects were eye opening. At times I had to turn the volume down. I'm still fine tuning it to blend it in more with the rest of my sound system, but I am impressed.

It has DEEP bass and can be very loud
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just love this subwoofer. I had a Cerwin-Vega 12" sub for 10yrs and was so upset when it died and I didnt think I would ever find one I like, but after reading the reviews for this and then hearing it in person, I can tell you its killer and well worth the price especially given the fact it should last you a good decade!!

Amazingly good subwoofer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up on a black Friday deal for an amazing price -- I'd gladly pay double for it, but happy I didn't. This is the subwoofer of my dreams....for the amount of money I'm willing to pay anyway. Klipsch always delivers on quality and price. Rich, full sound that fills my large living room perfectly. This is a replacement for the one hurricane Harvey took, so without the lower half of my walls or furniture in the way, the acoustics are pretty amazing. Curious to see how it will sound when it's all back together. And yes, a quality sound system is a much higher priority for me than furniture or even walls.
