    Worth the extra money

I've been eyeballing the Klipsch earbuds every time I go to Best Buy for the last few years yet I've never been able to justify the price. However, I was buying a JBL bluetooth speaker and saw these new headphones, saw they were new after a search on my phone and decided to pull the trigger. I've had 5 pairs of Skullcandy Titans, a pair of the 50/50, Beats touring, Apple Earpods, even those mybuds. I listen primarily to metal, which can be very dense music with a lot going on, so having good headphones is a necessity to fully enjoy my music. First thing is the comfort, and I assume all Klipsch earbuds share this in common because they use the same tips. Spent 6 hours studying today and I'm still listening to them, I can barely feel them in my ears. Sound quality is amazing. These are louder than the Earpods, which means I don't need to turn them up very loud. The highs are perfect, I can hear every cymbal on well-mixed songs, and the bass isn't cranked up like on other earbuds I've had where it starts to either sound muffled or overpower everything else. These really shine on well-produced music. For example, I listened to Animals as Leaders song Odessa, and I was able to hear the drums finally, before that I could only hear the double bass. Build quality is fine, the earbuds have that rubber coating and the cord is flat/ tangle free. However, for the $20 cost to get the R6i vs the R6 one would assume they could have made a better volume control. It works well, don't get me wrong, however it is made of hard plastic. I do powerlifting, so I would probably break these on heavy deadlifts. I broke my last headphones, the Skullcandy 50/50 on my lightest exercise, just have to hit them the wrong way I guess. I won't work out in these, and will keep the Earpods for that since they are indestructible. They are too nice and expensive to risk it. Overall, very glad I purchased these.

I was led to these earbuds by the claims of stellar sound quality. While these drivers are capable of drawing details and instruments from your favorite tracks that you'd never heard before, they do so on an incredibly narrow and unfulfilling frequency range. I had trouble finding the "thunderous bass" I had read about unless I pressed and held the buds into my ears. Any earbud is going to have more bass when you do this, btw, no matter the price tag. The highs are present but upper treble is non-existant. I've diligently made sure they're snug and fully inserted into my ear canal, tried all tip sizes, cleaned my ears, spent hours trying to find the perfect positioning -- nothing. My stock Samsung earbuds that came with my GS4 sound better, with the exception of providing a little less layering in the sound. This was surprising given the manufacturer's reputation and the $100 price tag. I think (hope) my ear canals are incompatible with these headphones and this just boils down to a perfectly good product being physically incompatible with my ears. Can't say for sure. A little about me: I've been an appreciator of good sound since I was a kid, though I don't feel justified calling myself an audiophile because I've never had piles of money to throw at equipment. I appreciate good sound more than I appreciate a brand name. I find the Beats line pretty laughable, if that tells you anything. I'm usually one to keep my opinions to myself, but this time I found myself disagreeing with all these reviews so I thought I'd offer my 2 cents.

    Great, But Noisy

I bought these despite the other reviews warning about the cord being noisy, but have to echo the other reviewers' concerns. The noise from the cords is unbelievably annoying, and why these get 4 stars instead of 5. Someone here described the sound as that coming from a stethoscope when you have it in your ears & tap on the tube. They were dead on. Every movement or bumping of the cord creates this loud hollow tube sound in your ears, which overrides the music playing. There is no way you could buy these for running, or heck, even walking around. I wore them on an airplane and they were tolerable, but that's because you can't move in one of those seats. The mitigate the noise from the cord movement, you have to use the cord clip it comes with, but this isn't the easiest thing to attach and you have to attach it high and wear it high on your shirt to have any real effect. This lowered the range I could move my head, so it's either tie your head to your shirt & don't move, or put the clip lower & increase the area where the cord can move & make noise. I feel like the outer rubber they used on the cord could have been a different material & not have caused this annoyance. The headphones themselves, in terms of sound coming from your music device, is superb. Some of the best range I've heard in a higher-end mid-grade set of headphones. Great bass with equal higher sound response. The headphones come with 4 sets of earpieces and a cord clip, all stored on a little plate that fits nicely in the small carrying case the headphones come with. The inline buttons don't work properly with Android phones, but that's not a make-or-break deal to me. If they could fix the headphone cord noise issue, these would be the best headphones on the market.

I have always loved Bose and Klipsh headphones / Speakers. When it came time to get a new set I didn't want to wait for the new R6i to come out so I tried out a few different types of headphones until I could find one I loved. Picked up the Bose and I did like them but if you go into any type of louder environment they don't push out enough volume. That is by design so you have awareness... for me that was a no good.. by the time I returned those the R6i had just come out. I had loved my prior pair of Klipsh (that my cat ate through the wires) so I figured I would give these a try. I LOVE them. Amazing sound, Great comfort, I like the newer flat cord design that my old pair did not have. My only gripe is that they don't come with the Large Double Flange Tips (personal preference)... They do come with a set of small medium and large singles and a small double flange, and they are that cool Oval shape Klipsh is known for. Other than that, I have used them for a few weeks now and find myself using them all the time. Call quality is what you would expect from an inline mic, nothing fancy. Solidly made, its what you would expect to buy from Klipsh, and the fact they are priced (currently) lower than some of they competitors and sound a lot better is just great.

I really wanted to love these earbuds. I am a serious music listener and when making a purchase, I always do a lot of research. These earbuds got great reviews from just about everyone. I listen to all genres, and great sound is very important to me. I hated the way these sounded. There was a kind of "boominess" to them. I know, a really technical term. They just did not have that great, clear, detailed sound. I am going to actually do an endorsement now. I paid a lot more and invested in a really good pair of Sennheiser earbuds. The sound is unbelievable. Its as if your hearing music you have heard hundreds of times, for the first time. I believe my mouth hung open for hours while listening to these. Every part of the song stood out. When there was a plunk of a guitar, or the strike of a piano key, the bowing of a violin. It seemed you could almost feel the music. I heard nuances in songs I had never heard and voices are crystal clear. Every part of the song stood out, yet blended perfectly together. I have owned almost every brand out there. Bose, Beats, Sony, Skull Candy, and others. These all got great reviews but cannot compete with the Sennheisers. There really is that big of a difference. As I said, they are really expensive, to me anyway. Best Buy has them on sale for almost $100.00 off. They still cost over double than the Klipsch. I thought I may never get another chance to buy these at that price. So I bit the bullet and bought them. I am writing about the IE 60 model. They sell earbuds that cost over $1000.00. These IE 60 sound so great, that I cant imagine the sound improving much better. Can you tell I was really impressed by these earbuds? Haha. Do yourself a favor and try these. I promise you wont regret it.

I bought these to replace my previous good earbuds (a set of Shure earbuds that ran me about $150). I love Klipsch's products. I have the Promedia 2.1 computer speakers and they're some of the best speakers I've ever owned. These earbuds are pretty good. The sound is balanced overall and, while is doesn't produce the over-the-top bass that some cheaper buds do, sounds all the better for it. Again, these are earbuds, not full-sized over-the-ear headphones. With speakers this small your expectations have to be realistic. That being said, overall the bass, mid, and treble provide an accurate audio image throughout the frequency spectrum. The only other shortcoming I found was that I bought these for running. If your only intended use for these is for the gym, I can't recommend them. Rustling the cord transfers sound directly to your ears and they fall out easily with anything more than minimal movement. My advice is to purchase these only if you intend on walking or sitting with them in. If you're just looking for something to give you quality sound while reading or walking to / riding on public transit, then they're great.

Broke after 1 year - Heavy and Non-Durable

Here's a breakdown of my experience with Klipsch: 1) Fit: Only good if you are stationary. If you are planning to use these to run, these are not for you. The reason - the cord and mic control are extremely heavy and weigh down the earbuds. 2) Durability: Shortly after the 12-month warranty expired, the sound went out. Reading reviews elsewhere, it seems like this is pretty common, but considering I kept these things in the case, is especially not acceptable. Spending close to $100 for a 1 year rental is ridiculous. 3) Customer Service: Please research on your own, but Klipsch customer service has absolutely zero interest in customer satisfaction. They are as by the book and one sided as a company can be, with poor follow up to concerns. This isn't just some angry customer. Seriously, search Klipsch customer service complaints and hope you never have to interact with them. 4) Sound: It's okay, but not nearly good enough to warrant dealing with 1-3 above. Overall, I am shocked to see as many good ratings as there are for these on BestBuy.com. Other site ratings seem way more accurate. I hardly write reviews, but as a service to my fellow consumers, I am putting this out there so you don't have to deal with the same frustrating experience I and many others have with Klispch and specifically the R6i's. Just a poor product, put out by a company that could care less about its customers and is just trying to eat of it's name brand. Stay away if you can.

these headphones are good. to compare, i'll use the Apple EarPods: ... they have good sound compared to them. mainly, because they seal the outside noise a little. that always adds to the quality with few exceptions. if you are looking for noise cancelling headphones, i feel like these are pretty solid for that even though they are not advertised as such. the maximum volume is not that loud, which is very good for you in the end. it's plenty for casual listening. the wire is extremely loud. by that i mean that any little brush with your clothes, desks, anything etc. will cause you to hear loud rubbing noises. it can be very aggravating to be honest. it is very easy to untangle compared to the EarPods though and that is a huge plus; kinda cancels out. do not get these for working out because of that noise issue, FOR SURE. the rubbers are pretty varied in sizes and i'm sure you they will fit anybody just fine. the case is pretty cool. i keep the iPhone 7 converter cable in there and it keeps everything thst is included plus that in it with no space to spare. feel good about this purchase and i'm sure you will to. please refer to professionals for sound review. I think the bass is good, but i don't listen to hip-hop. good for gaming, rock, podcasts and my other casual uses. big step up from the EarPods.

I bought a pair of Klipsch R6i earbuds to replace my Apple earpods after experiencing a volume issue in one speaker (an apparently common issue). The price wasn't bad, and I've always enjoyed Klipsch products, so it came as a surprise to me that there is almost nothing I like about these earbuds. The build quality is adequate--they don't feel junky or cheap--but the choice of cord material (a type of rubber with a rough finish) causes it to cling constantly to my shirt, the edge of my desk, and any other surface it contacts. The result is a near-constant series of vibration noises that make their way up through the cord to overwhelm whatever audio is playing through the speakers. It feels as if I'm underwater--while carpenters install a deck overhead. In addition, the clingy nature of the rubber threatens to pull the buds from my ears if I so much as turn my head or shift without adequately preparing the cord for the upcoming movement. The sound quality is great, and when the pads are properly sealed (and you are completely motionless), outside noise is effectively nullified, so even phone conversations are crystal-clear--just don't walk or turn your head too much, and forget about performing ANY kind of physical activity unless it includes plenty of opportunity to replace the earbuds which invariably get tugged out of your ears.

These are a very rich sounding, very smooth product. I like how full the low end can get (relative for ear buds, of course) and the high end is not too absurd, which to me, is always he drawback of in-ear buds. Klipsch quality to me, would rival Bose in build, fit and form anyway. If people bothered to look past a brand label and actually use their ears to listen, I would say they sound much better (though I won't compare these to the QC line of Bose buds, those are not fair to compare). The buds come with 3 different sized sets of rubber ear fittings for size and a carry case, which i of course, never use, but it's nice of them. The inline mic feels very solidly constructed of one rubberized piece, no hard plastic, which I really like (my last in-line had cracked at this point). My two (slight) critiques; I would like some larger rubber buds for a tighter fit in my ear; the silver track skip/pause/mute/hang up button could stand to be a little bit more positive in it's feedback. I find myself clicking once when I want twice, twice when I want 3, etc. Excellent, excellent buds, especially for the price when compared to Bose's ever popular sport models.

I have to say, these sound fantastic. And they go LOUD. They outshine my Beyerdynamic and Shure headphones I own. I have to warn you, every cheap pair of headphones sounds like complete garbage after these, there is no going back. They have very rich lows and crisp highs, just what I love. I do have to say though, they fit very oddly in my ears. This is why I only give 4 stars. They only reproduce the bass and low-mid's correctly when they have a proper seal in your ear. I tried all the different ear piece sizes and the only way I could achieve this was at a very odd tilted angle and really any movement shoved them out of place. What I found is if I switched sides (the one marked L in my right ear, R in the left) they keep their seal, fit comfortably and sound great and stay that way. Also the buttons are not very Android friendly, though I expected this. I got these because they have the built in mic. The center button can play&pause music and answer/hang up calls (most of the time) but the volume buttons don't do anything. The built in mic works great. All the buttons work fine on an iPhone and iPod. If you use Android and don't want a mic, just get the Reference R6, not the R6i. They are the same except for the buttons/mic.

Great headphones for the price...miss the S4's

I owned the Klipsch S4's for a number of years (2 or 3) before the cable finally wore out. Unfortuately, Klipsch had just replaced their line of S4's with these. While the sound is still generally the same (though I think it favors bass a touch more than the S4's did). Whilst walking, the cord does make some noise when it hits your body, however I don't notice it at all when I have the volume turned to a "normal" volume (around 50-60% on my phone). The one MAJOR flaw with this redesigned product is that they fall out...constantly. I am using the same sized tips that I used with my S4's, which would rarely ever fall out (even if the cord was tugged on with reasonable force; more often than not I would get hurt before they would come out. The R6's on the other hand...I'm constantly reaching up to push them back into my ears....constantly. Like, 2-3 times a song constantly (while walking). Additionally I live in Chicago, I take mass transit daily. Any time anyone bumps into me (and subsequently the headphone cord), it is almost guaranteed that one (or both) earbuds fall out. I don't understand why this is, but I wish Klipsch would figure out what went wrong and fix it.

For the price range of these ear buds, the sound is great. The bass is clean, but not heavy (so if you a strong bass these may not be for you). It hits all the other parts of the range very nicely. So far (about 3 months) the durability of these headphones have been excellent. To give more context, I'll describe my experience with previous klipsch headphones. I've put a pair through the wash on accident and they worked fine afterwards. I haven't had any shorts to do with audio, but I have had buttons stop working after extended use (i.e. volume, pause/play, and this is with the pair that went through the wash). I've always liked the tangle free flat cord and find it easy to use. The microphonics aren't the best, but I feel that they way the cord is constructed, it doesn't bounce around too much or hit many things. With these models I haven't always had the best fit though. The audio is great, but I have had trouble with them staying in my ears when on the move from time to time. I don't know if it's just my ears or if I'm putting them on incorrectly. Overall, these are great head phones for the price, which I feel are better than many of the more popular brand head phones costing up to twice as much.

I purchased these wired headphones after losing about 2 other higher-end pair this past year. In between, I purchased a wireless pair by Jaybird. I like the idea of wireless, but in practice it kind of sucks. I really dislike being tethered to another power source to have a working device, it's enough already with the phone and the ipad etc. My other gripe with wireless is I run, and there is nothing worse than having your music cut out on you while you run. OK, off the wireless soapbox. I have these Klipsch wired headphones and I love them. The cord has great movement, which may be weird for some, but it makes a difference when you run if the cord moves with you. The sound is phenomenal, I could end up getting hit by a car because it's all-encompassing sound. The earpieces fit snugly in my ears, there's several sizes in the package. And a big plus is they fit so snugly in my ear canals I don't have to have the extra plastic around my ears that so many other brands offer. I wish they were sweat proof, but that's not a deal breaker because they are so good in all other aspects. Buy these!

Why do people give the Klipsch R6i earbuds such great reviews? Based on the reviews and my previous experiences with Klipsch products, the R6i would be a step up at least from the stock iPhone 6 earbuds. WRONG!!! In my opinion, these should get 0 stars. Actually, considering I have to waste my time taking this junk back, they deserve negative stars. The marketing slogan on the side of the box states "Keepers of Sound". Klipsch must either be joking or trying to mislead the customer into thinking they will get something great. These are NOT great. They aren't even decent. They rank up there with cheap dollar store junk for sound quality. If you want thin, tinny sound at a premium price these are the ear buds for you. The original price was $99.99. Best Buy was running a sale at my local store and online for $20 off bringing the price down to $79.99. Honestly, I don't even think I would pay $10 for the R6i without feeling ripped off. Sadly, the stock pair that ship with iPhone are far superior. If you are looking for an upgrade, look somewhere, anywhere other than the R6i. Klipsch needs to seriously go back to the drawing board.

    Fantastic Headphones -- **BREAK-IN**

    Posted
    Zuelion

At first, I was seriously concerned as to why I purchased these headphones for $100. I actually preferred my FREE EarPods that came with my iPhone to these headphones that I heard rave reviews about. Right before I decided to make a rash judgement, I remembered something that a review had mentioned previously about these types of headphones. It mentioned something about a "break-in" period. Therefore, at around 10am one day, I plugged in the headphones to my small iPod & let it play in a drawer in my room on a decently high volume. By about midnight, I had forgotten all about them & collected em' from the drawer. To my surprise, the headphones sounded NOTHING like they first sounded like. Seriously... I was awestruck. Long story short... THESE HEADPHONES NEED TO BE LEFT WITH AN IPOD ON PLAY!!! Now, (to my surprise), these may very well become my primary set of headphones :). On a side note, I opted for the WHITE version that I had to purchase online. The Best Buy near me had the black version, but I liked the white version so much more that I waited an extra two weeks for them to ship to my house. I would highly recommend carrying the white version as well.

On a long flight to Hawaii, I had plenty of time to play with these Klipsch earbuds. They beat the heck out of the standard buds that came with my MP3 player. The price also seemed so right when you look at what people are willing to spend. Klipsch has been known to make some fine full range audio speakers for home entertainment systems. I made a snap judgement to purchase their buds based on some real good listening experiences with their full range home audio. Just when I thought they were pretty good, I change ear pieces and they went to a whole better level of enjoyment because of a better fit which also gave me better sound. I don't know much about sound cancelation on a noisy jet airliner, but the ear pieces that seemed the best fit for my big ears really left me alone with my favorite tunes. There are 3 sets of attachments to try for your ear canal-- has to be a fit for you that will bring the tunes into focus like dialing in a great radio station on an old analog tuner.

These headphones are very nice, I got them for my wife for her samsung galaxy tab S 10 inch version. And samsung galaxy S6, from her point of view she loves them and really likes the flat response she gets from them. She is not a big fan of bass like I am so if your looking for a nice clear sound where you can hear the voice of the artist from a cd or hear your calls with a nice balanced clarity, these headphones are for you. I must mention that I also had the x11i by Klipsch and for some reason these sound exactly the same but for a fraction of the price though the x11i are alot more slim and lighter and have a very nice premium design. With that said if your looking for great bass and crisp clarity on the high frequency as well. Go with the image one v2's or you can go with the status headphones which sound alot better than the image one v2's when it comes to the low and high frequency sounds. But if weight and comfort is your concern as well as bass response, then the image one v2's or even the new Reference headphones would be your best bet.

Exchanged these for the Marshall Mode EQs

    Posted
    Steven

There is too much mid bass in the vocals in the Klipsch R6i. It's a real shame as the bass is tight and strong and the highs are beautiful without any sibilance. The mids are slightly too forward pushing the beautifully controlled highs back. The decent soundstage of the Klipsch would be better if the mid bass wasn't overshadowing the clarity and detail of the highs during vocals. EDM, drum-n-bass and Trap music sounds great on the Klipsch. Cannot recommend them for all genre general listening. I ended up trading the Klipsch in for the Marshall Mode EQs. The Marshalls sound like my ATH-M50x over ears. Compared to the Klipsch R6i, the Marshalls have a more natural bass response in normal EQ mode with slightly brighter highs creating more detail and clarity. The other EQ mode emphazises the bass and mids making the sound more warm. It's a nice option for listening at lower volumes but not necessary if already listening at higher volumes. The Klipsch had a wider soundstage.

I purchased my R6i's in hopes of getting a new pair of earbuds as well as getting something that sounds better so that I could try and become an audiophile. I purchased one other pair of decent earbuds I use while exercising that sound pretty good, but the Klipsch are phenomenal. In responding to other reviews I've found, yes there will be noise if you bang the cords around, but that is inevitable in my opinion. Also, I'm new to buying fancy audio equipment but dropping the $100 resulted in skimming on my lunches for the rest of the week. However, it was totally worth it. The sound is clear and I can hear the variations in treble and bass. While there isn't as much bass as I'd like, these are but little earbuds and can't carry the same oomph as headphones or better yet, a big ol' subwoofer. They completely block out noise, leaving my out of the various superfluous conversations my coworkers have. On a final note, this model has the cord remote for easier control, and comes with a little carrying case complete with a shirt-clip and multiple earbud sizes.
