Did someone say more bass?!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOW!!! Lucky me, my wife bought this for my birthday and man now my house shakes with the amount of bass that this thing puts out! This was the year that I decided to replace all of the speakers in my surround sound system since most of them were about 20 years old. I replaced a Polk 12" sub for this one and man this sub is far superior than the Polk that I had. If you're looking for an awesome sub with some ground shaking bass then this is the sub for you!

Great sub(s)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought 2x of these during black friday to replace a malfunctioning Infinity sub and also add more oof to the home theater. Not disappointing. These rumble the house. Tested with John Wick 4k bluray and an assortment of xbox one titles. I'm impressed. It feels as though you're in those moments. Such clarity in the bass (tuned on Pioneer Elite SC-LX701 receiver) and not flabby sounding. Very precise lows and distinct sounding bass all around. Would highly recommend this, or these if you plan a .2 setup.

Gets better and better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially the bass was terrible and it didn't sound very good but even just an hour into it it smoothed out and was beginning to sound great. I'm now a few hours in and it is getting better and better. To be honest it's almost too big and shakes my media room in my new house. But on the other hand that is the type of bass I wanted.

Boom Boom Boom Boom
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As John Lee Hooker said in his song "Boom boom boom boom" that's what you get when you buy not one but two of these wall shaking, window shattering, neighbors calling, pets leaving subs. I have movie theater sound in a room that isn't big enough for it and it's fantastic. On top of that I only paid Boom boom, yes that's 50% less booms. Half off and sound like this.... Klipsch is my new favorite speaker brand. I used to own JBL because my rule was to use the same brands the theaters did. Now I'm not so narrow minded. I own a grand total of 10 Klipsch speakers in varying forms. 7.1 surround system to a sound bar with a sub. So far so great. I'm so impressed with their speakers I went online to make sure I was pronouncing the brand correctly. Kleepsh or clipshuh depending on the source. Seriously, consider the size of the room when making speaker decisions. One of these will work for most and you will not be disappointed. But also keep in mind, the speaker is only processing the signal that it gets so a bad signal makes for bad sound. Also get a good subwoofer cable and be prepared to tweak as you need to do with all speakers. A concrete walled room will sound different than a drywall room. Bare or carpeted floors, number of windows in the room etc can all affect sound.

Didn't really know what I was getting....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a new sub to replace my Bose Acoustimass 10 setup so I'd have a dedicated sub without all the custom wire connections. Reviews looked good and the price was fair. Knew I was in trouble when they brought it out on a dolly! Man, this thing is big! Could double as an end table! (no hiding it from my wife, unfortunately, she couldn't miss this beast). Used my new Denon 1295W auto config. to dial everything in. Worked like a charm as soon as I plugged it into the right ports in the back of the receiver. Tons of thumb, distortion's not that bad. Do have to dial it back a little at louder volume but totally happy with it. Looks and sounds great. I'm no expert, obviously, but this thing does exactly what I wanted it to do. Adds such depth to movies and music, fills the entire room (14x24). Wired the room for two but I don't need anything more than this. Love the Klipsch brand, had a 5.1 computer setup from them for a decade that just kicked the bucket, but i've always loved the sound from my Klipsch's

Lifetime speakers
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I sold electronics many years ago. I had a nice 5.1 surround sound system that I didn't think I would part from. I went into BB looking for appliances, and strolled over to the audio section. Always respected Klipsch, never thinking I would own them. At first I considered just replacing the Sub. After doing that I realized I needed to replace my speakers on stands with towers. I was astounded by the difference! This speaker system is absolutely amazing! Bright Crystal clear highs, strong mids, and bass you can feel in your chest. Coming from someone who made a living from selling audio for a decade, this is a phenomenal experience I enjoy coming home to every day!

Sound master
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went through 3 subwoofers before I was blessed to get my hands and ears on this Klipsch 12 inch 400W sub. Not only does it sound great but it looks great too ! I like that I was able to fine tune it through my Yamaha receiver so not to have it over power all my other surrounding speakers. No distortion whatsoever either. So much boom comes out of this sub that I had to literally turn the gain on it back to the halfway mark. This will makes windows and things in the room vibrate. I see some people have two of these subs and some have four for each corner of the room. I cannot imagine that much bass in one room. Neighbors would definitely complain. Your ears would bleed and you’d be certainly deaf sometime down the road. Unless your home entertainment theater is like a small auditorium believe me just one of these awesome subs is more than enough.

Great for home theater or organ pedal notes
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I added this subwoofer to my Klipsch Reference Series R-820-F tower speakers. My Denon receiver lets me set the crossover frequency. I did this at 80 Hz. I matched this by setting the subwoofer's dial on the rear to 80 Hz. This is the setting for audiophiles who listen to classical music and want to hear the string bass, contrabassoon, and organ pedal notes. You will be surprised to learn that bass guitar does not appear at this frequency. The towers are perfectly capable of handling pop music without subwoofers. But I'm sure that some will want to set the crossover to 100 to 150 Hz to get a bass kick. Okay. Irritate your neighbors. But for most listeners, the Klipsch towers are adequate for pop music. However -- I recommend the subwoofer for home theater if you are watching Sicario or Saving Private Ryan. Summary: Subwoofer for home theater, classical music organ pedal, string bass, contrabassoon.

Great Subs for home theaters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had my eye on these bad boys for a while. I replaced two Polk Audio 10 inch subs with these Klipsch 12s. When I say the difference is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The 10s sounded great, these sound AMAZING. I could probably get away with one, but two seem to balance out the room. I really have Regal Cinemas at the house now. Lol!

Great subwoofer for home entertainment
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure why I wasted my time looking at other subs. This klipsch 12” sub is what every house needs. My wife almost barred me from bringing the box into the house. Once it was unwrapped and hooked up I was shaking the whole house with base. Not only do I love it! But now I can play music my wife loves and she is doing chores again! Thank you Klipsch, I love what you did for my household!

Powerful, Clean, Responsive Bass
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced a still-functioning Polk PSW505, with similar specs. I have to say, if I purchased the Klipsch at full price, I would have rated it lower, or even returned it, but for $250 it was a nice upgrade. I now have a matching Klipsch 5.1 surround sound system, and a slightly better sounding subwoofer. The build quality is nice, and the subwoofer looks high quality. The whole thing is lighter than I expected, so I don’t think the enclosure is built from heavy material though. The biggest upgrade is in the quality of bass. Low frequency explosions in movies, or double bass attacks in metal music would turn the Polk muddy sounding. The Klipsch maintains its composure, and produces powerful, clean, responsive bass no matter what I throw at it. Overall, I’m very happy with the performance of this subwoofer for what I paid. I’m not hearing some of those very low bass notes with it only rated down to 29Hz, but I guess I don’t miss them that much when the house is already shaking. From a performance to price standpoint, this subwoofer would be hard to beat at $250. Full price, I would look to an internet-only subwoofer that can get down to 20Hz for the same full price.

Highly recommend!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this sub to accommodate my klipsch setup in our 28’ x 14’ living room. The sub performs amazing and fills the room with quality bass. Being a music lover I just added a second 12” sub to the same room, no reason to ever go to the movie theater again! Great product especially for the price!

Amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely amazing! I put this in my screened in patio with a pair of Klipsch outdoor speakers and Denon receiver. It’s like having your on private concert in your back yard. It’s definitely worth the price. If your in the market for a subwoofer look no further. You will not be disappointed.

Solid subwoofer for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these subwoofers on Black Friday when they were half off. One is setup with my Pioneer SC-95 amp and Martin Logan Motion 40s. It definitely adds to the low end but might not be the most accurate, deepest or tightest bass. Same for the one setup with my home theater, its shakes the room but leaves some accuracy to be desired. Also keep in mind it is a 12 inch subwoofer so its footprint isn't small. I wish there were other finish options. It looks and feels cheaper than other subwoofers in the $400-$500 range. Plus glossy black would look much better and match my speakers. For $225 this subwoofer is a fantastic value(and reason I'm giving 4 stars rather than 3) but if it is more expensive I'd wait for a better sale or look at alternatives. If quality is your main concern I'd look toward alternatives. Still its better than what 90 plus percent of people have in their houses.

I want another!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hesitated on the 12 over a 10. Glad I got the 12. Sounds amazing, great for movies and real sweet for sound. (Why I bought this reference series) I'm using it mainly for music. Don't hesitate, I will say for the extra money, the spl line is way better. But again, I'd buy another for my music room. Upstairs, I use one spl 10. My wife cringes at times as it punches her! I love it. I could only imagine 2 10s upstairs lol Love klipsch, awesome speakers. The reference series sound great, better than the competition.
