    Great little reader

I adore this little reader. Unlike the other reviewer, I've had no problem syncing or downloading my books. Set up was quick and easy. The desktop software can be annoying, but DRM-free books can be loaded onto the reader as if it were a USB drive. Unfortunately Kobo software really causes some frustration. When you sync your Mini, it will download all of your purchased books to the reader. I don't want all of my books on my reader at once. I have a Kobo Touch also and I want different books on each reader. If you delete a book with the Wi-Fi on, it will remove the book from all Kobo devices you own (with Wi-Fi on) and archive it in your library online. Since I have the Kobo Touch also, this leads to frustration. There are workarounds for this problem though. Basically, turn off the Wi-Fi unless you are using it to sync your books or download a book. Books purchased from Kobo will sync across all of your devices, so you can always pick up where you left off on another device. As far as the reader, it's great! Screen is nicely responsive and it is whiter than my Kobo Touch screen. I love the small size, it's a nice size to place into a purse or pocket and great to hide behind papers in a meeting. Excellent for casual reading. It will not display the full page of a book at once, but that's to be expected because of the size. If you want a reader to do this, you must buy a larger reader. I would not recommend it for pdf files, magazines, and of course, there is no audio. I would highly recommend this for children also. The size is great for their small hands and if they break it, not much money is lost. It's a nice way to introduce a child to e-reading and gives them a sense of pride to own their own reader. If you remember how large everything seemed to you when you were a young child, this reader will probably seem big, Perfect for the teen who reads on the run, easily fits in most pockets. If Kobo would improve the software, I'd give this reader a 5 star rating.

I bought mine the weekend before Christmas for $50. Would it have been my first choice for ereaders, no, considering that my family members have Kindles and Nooks? However, the money I received for Christmas was only enough for this and I love it. It's not the perfect ereader, but I'm not one to nitpick electronics anyways, because there will always be flaws and imperfections in everything you buy. It is very convenient though, because of the size and I don't mind the small screen. I can just adjust the font to where there are more words on the screen and I still feel like I'm reading a book. The screen response is decent, and it is fairly quick when jumping to different parts of the book. I love that it has a browser and extras, although, I do wish there were more extras available. I also love the fact that I can put library books on it. My biggest thing is that the store is a bit more difficult to navigate than Amazon's, but I'm getting better at it and it does seem to be a bit better than B&N. Don't really have an opinion about the battery yet, because I haven't had it that long. Overall, I'm enjoying my Kobo and would recommend it to others.

I love that this e-reader fits in my pocket even in its case. The battery life is more than double that of my Kindle. The controls are a bit sluggish -- for example, sometimes I have to tap several times for a page to turn. The only way I've discovered to load books to it is to download them to my computer then transfer via a USB. It comes with no instruction booklet, and Kobo's customer help department is the pits, so it's a trial and error process to learn to operate it. OTOH, it's easy to read, there's a nice selection of books available, it's better for travel than my Kindle, and there's that whole "fits in my pocket" thing.

I am very pleased with this purchase. I have a tablet that I love but this is perfect to carry in my purse all the time. I agree that the instructions and user guide doesn't provide a lot of information but it was enough for me and I'm not a techie. I haven't had any problems downloading books and was pleasantly surprised to find out I could also add library books via ADE. Kobo is not my favourite provider and I don't care for their customer support, but so far I haven't needed it. The screen is easy to read and personalize. Wifi works well. I purchased on sale and feel it is good value for my money.

It's a very good e-reader. It doesn't have any light, but I knew that before I bought it. I wished it were a little bigger, though. Those are my only complaints.

I love this e-reader. Light weight and small, it goes everywhere. I have others but this is my favorite. Just wish they made a cover for it.
