    Good Basic eReader

    Posted .

For the money, you can't go wrong. And it comes preloaded with 100 FREE classics - think authors like Jane Austin and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Right off the bat you won't have a problem finding something to read. Classic literature is always a fantastic time, and the titles that they chose to preload will provide months of free reading. You can download additional ebooks wirelessly or through a USB cable. You can also download ebooks from your library and from Adobe. Sure, it's not all that luxurious of a model, but it does what it's supposed to do and it does it well. It's a tad slow, yes, but do you really need to be going 90 miles an hour all the time? Buy it, read the preloaded books and purchase others that tickle your fancy - it's a fantastic way to tote around lots of books, and the battery life and no-glare screen is great. It holds up to 1,000 books! I'm a fan of the basic Kobo eReader.

    Adequate eReader

    Posted .

The Good: Can read EPUB books checked out from the library. Works with my iMac and the Adobe Digital Editions software. Has a memory card slot. Is cheaper than most of the others. The Bad: Slow. Has completely hung up a few times and I had to hit the reset button to get it working again. McAfee thinks the Kobo software is a virus and deletes it so I don't use it with my Windows 7 PC. I also have a Kindle 3 which doesn't (yet) support EPUB files. Otherwise, the Kindle is a much better eReader and well worth the small difference in price.

    KOBO

    Posted .

I purchased a laterati and was perfectly happy with its performance. unfortunately it is a generic kobo and uses kobo.com. i invested in several books thru kobo before i started having problems with kobo.com. the only reason i purchased a kobo e reader was to be able to read the books i had already purchased and my laterati would not read. this is the reason i purchased a cheap kobo that was refurbished. the refurbished kobo does not have the features my laterati does, but at least i am able to read my books. am i happy, yes, i can read my books.

Too slow and not user friendly

    Posted .

This Kobo is too slow and hard to use. After a week of reading my thumb started to hurt after pressing that hard button to turn the pages. there is some issue with font if you wan to read pdf files. So eventually I exchanged it for Kindle and I love it. Seriously it is like switching from Ford Focus to BMW.

This is a good ereader. It has all the features anyone needs to buy, store, and read ebooks. Supports Adobe Digital Editions. I would recommend this reader to anyone who wants to easily take their library with them, and read on the go.

This e-reader was very competitive for its time and I got a great deal because it was refurb. Looked and worked like brand-new.

Painfully Slow - Do not Buy

Horribly slow and expensive books. Do not buy....save yourself the frustration. My wife's Kindle is superior......I will be going to Best Buy to purchase a new Kindle for myself....the Kobo goes in the trash.

    Great eReader for Kids

The Kobo Digital Readers are wonderfull for kids. Its easy to use, hard to break, and is not loaded with a bunch of features that they will never use. Its a simple device that does exactly what its supposed to do.

even though it tends to be a bit slow, i love the convenience of being able to read anywhere. it is also less bulky than regular books, it easily fits in my purse.
