    New Kodak release delivers

I've had a chance to play with this camera when it came out last week. I thought Kodak's new camera would have fallen short and they would have delivered yet another average camera, but this one performs pretty well. Kodak is taking awhile to catch on to the slimness aesthetic other companies are touching (like the Sony T77 for example), but this time they made a 5x optical zoom camera that's as thin as their earlier model 3x zoom. It still has all of the same great features they've delivered in models past (like panoramic stitch, my favorite!) but now it also has Smart Capture. I own their M1033 and smart capture is definitely a great innovation for people like me. Turn on your camera, click to capture, and boom! Great picture the first time around without having to do anything. I stacked it up against my M1033 and while the pictures aren't as sharp, they still pack a better punch than some of the other M-series models like the M863 or M1063. I would have liked to have seen a better video mode. This can only do VGA (640x480) at 30 fps. It's like carrying around a high end webcam inside of your camera. Its pretty average, like most other digital cameras. The M1033 had 720p high def res at 30 fps, one of the best in any digital camera. And the ISO mode isn't as high. The M1033: 6400. The M380: 1600. My suggestion? If you need an affordable 5x zoom camera that takes great shots, get the M380. If you're willing to sacrifice 2x zoom, grab the M1033 or M1093 if you can still find them.

    Amazing Camera!!!!!!!!

I got htis camera 1 week ago and I absolutely love it. It is a good camera for teenagers to take pictures with friends and for vacation and things of that sort. One complaint I have is that if you drop it even 3 inches it will shut off and you have to take the battery out and then put it back in so it will turn back on. I have gotten so many compliments on my new camera from my friends. It has a great pre-flash option that will prevent blinking in pictures and also prevent red-eye. This is my first camera and I enjoy when i put it on my laptop computer it gets enlarged enough to set as my wallpaper without any blurriness. The user's manual is very clear (such as when you plug the camera into your computer to transfer pictures you must hit the power button for your computer to recognize it and take action). All in all I love all that this camera has to offer and I would definitely reccommend this camera to all my friends which I have done. I posted 2 pictures for you to see the great resolution.

I recieved this camera for my birthday. Initally I loved it. Took some snaphots of my family that turned out well enough to print in 8x10's! Went to a concert and tried to take some pics. It was not even dark in the gym but no matter what setting I put it on the pics were either dark or blurry! The video I took was fine though! I also went to a wedding and tried to take pics from the 2nd row and they were the same way! I took it back today and exchanged it for the Nikon Coolpix S230. All in all this is a great camera if you don't need the low light setting. Everything else worked just fine but I wasn't satisfied without being able to take pics in low light.

I purchased this Kodak camera as a camera to toss in my purse and go. There are plenty of great features. Love the "info" button in case you forget what to do with a particular photo choice. Lightweight, very easy to use. I like the panoramic option. One of my favorite features is that you can charge the battery without taking it out of the camera! No resetting the date and time. The only feature it does not have, is a "viewer" for taking pictures. I prefer this over the LCD screen. Overall, great camera. I really like the Kodak brand - always very easy cameras to use. Highly recommend it.

Out of the box, this camera is easy is to use for any novice user. However, you cannot take any pictures in low lighting. The flash is not big or bright enough to provide enough light and even pictures inside my living room came out extremely dark even in normal lighting conditions. The low-light setting makes pictures come out grainy and the colors are off. Best use of this camera is outdoors in bright settings. Also, there is a strange clicking noise coming from the camera periodically that I cannot trace.

My granddaughter is going to New York on a school trip and wanted a camera that takes both color and black & white pictures. We went to several stores, but they were all sold out, so we went shopping online. We came across this camera and noticed it was what she was looking for and at the right price, so I ordered it. This was a gift from her aunt and cost a little less than what we expected. The camera was delivered to us in less than a week. It is very easy to use and my granddaughter is very happy with it. Thank you!

Love my previous Kodak so I bought another one. As soon as I turned it on I noticed a slight clicking noise. It bothered me as my previous kodak did not make any noise. I tried it out and also noticed that the lcd showed very grainy in low light conditions. The pictures in low light were not as nice either. Unfortunatly for me I ordered two of them (One has not arrived yet). I already returned the defective one (the shutter noise) and Best Buy was Awesome about taking it back.

We bought this camera when ours got stolen while we were on vacation. Didn't expect much, but man this camera was horrible! Every time we turned it on it said "Processing" and wouldn't allow you to take a picture for about 30 seconds. The image quality was very poor...either grainy, not well lit, or blurry. We returned this as soon as our vacation was done and got a Canon Powershot instead. Please don't waste your money on this poor excuse for a camera.

    Terrible camera

So disappointed in this camera, especially for Kodak. It takes terrible pictures indoors...they come out dark, grainy and blurry. I've tried several different settings and nothing helps. The software is also disappointing -- slow and not user-friendly. I've gotten some beautiful shots outdoors, but the indoor quality is the worst I've seen on any digital camera.

IMy hubby bought me this camera as a Christmas gift. In the 6 months that I have owned it the camera has already been out for repair. The zoom and auto focus still do not work correctly and the pictures are very blurry. I am extremely disappointed with it and am going to purchase another camera to replace it . Don't waste your money on this one!!!

I love the camera's size and features. It's great for grab and go when you don't want to carry a whole camera outfit. As in all digital cameras with no view finder, it is hard to see what shot you are getting in certain lighting. I got an excellent price when compared to other cameras with similar resolution and optical zoom.

This was my 3rd camera. I have received a Nikon for x-mas, that got messed up as soon as I went to the beach. Then I traded it in for a Samsung, that broke too and it was later recalled. Finally, I found this camera @ BestBuy for only $99 and the screen was huge!!! I've has this camera for almost a month now and I love it!

I purchased this product for my wife who takes pictures occasionally. The picture screen was very poor....fuzzy picture view. All pictures were blurry or dark. You have to be outside during the day just to take a good picture. Buy this product if you want to take pictures during the day only!"

Got this camera for my over-70 mother, and it's her first digital. She loves it and said it was really easy to learn to use. The best thing is that when you hold the camera to point and shoot, your fingers don't 'accidently' press any other buttons! Great design on this camera.

An excellent little camera, with excellent ease-of-use, takes high quality pictures with a nice optical zoom, good stabilization and blur reduction. Functions best in Smart Capture mode, allowing the camera to do almost everything for you. Great general purpose camera.

great camera for the price,is a little biger than most compact units but it comes with a X5 optical zoom so I don't mind trading size for a better zoom and it will still fit i your packet
