    Frustrating at first

Well, I first bought this frame because it was on sale, and I have had many great experiences with the Kodak name. This frame, however, was very difficult to set up, so much so that I thought I was doing something wrong and returned it after a week for another one. What I didn't know what that you cannot have your photos categorized on your SD card. You cannot have any folders, or this frame will not read the card. This is very frustrating because you no longer have control over the pictures like you would normally on any windows program. Back to the frame. This is a very nice frame. It included a cable to hook up to your computer, which isn't really necessary because it's wireless, but it's helpful if the wireless isn't working. I've found that the software included is good, but not great. It often is very slow and takes a while to load the program or to load the photos you want. I use this frame for pictures now, because it does not support many photos, only ones that are in a specific format (mpeg) and nothing else. Although on the box it states it will run Mov files (which my Kodak camera specifically creates, it has yet to run a single file of this type - stating that the format .mov is not supported). I am glad to have such a large frame for such a good price. The display is great, and I have no complaints when it is all working properly. But getting to that step is very labor intensive and hard to do without some serious patience. Overall, you could just get two 8" frames for the same price and probably less than half the hassle. But for now, this frame works well for what I need it to do. The online capability is nice, but not really useful if you're putting the pictures on an SD card anyway. However, you can just set it to sync with your PC and have all your photos on the frame wirelessly if you don't have a SD card, which is nice.

    Amazing WiFi DIgital Photo Frame

Ths Kodak Frame was $299 just a few months ago. At this December Holiday sale price of ONLY $129 (plus a Free Flash drive bonus) run out and grab one. Most people (even those you actaully own one) -do not- understand that this Kodak frame has the ability to wirelessly capture images from the internet. (anywhere in the world) Not just from your own computer at home. Yes, connected to Kodak's online Gallery and a user account. Photos can be uploaded in Calf, placed onto your gallery, and with a simple router the photos will 'drop' right on your frame in NYC! Most frames on the market do not have the contrast and detail via the Kodak Science Chip. Also any frame that is on par with it like a Sony or only the newest HP has a glass encasement. So sunlight & ambient indoor light reflects back on the digital frame. With no glass being a true matt LCD frame, you are closer to the photos and have zero reflection! On top of all of that it is 10", WiFi, and now way less then any other premium quality Digital Frame!!

Frame Won't Last More than 11 Months

It looks like the life expectancy of this frame is eleven months. I purchased this frame as a birthday gift for my wife. The first frame I had would crash regularly. I tried exchanging it, but since I had waited 30 days they told me I’d have to send it off to Kodak for service. (I was sure I had added the extended warranty when I purchased it online, but that’s another story.) Anyway since the frame would work again after powering it off for a few seconds I decided I could live with the problem. Finally after eleven months, the frame completely “died.” It would not even power up. At that point Kodak exchanged the frame for a new or reconditioned one. That frame worked fine for eleven months before it also “died.” This time the twelve month warranty had been expired for ten months. While the frame worked the picture quality was fair. Compared to even the smallest computer monitor, the quality is substantially less.

Never more irritated with a product

Bought this to give to my parents, here is what I found: Wireless access: DHCP does not work, even after updating firmware. I had to assign a static address for this frame to talk to the world. Reviewing pictures from a card: RANDOM DOES NOT WORK, if you want to see the same pictures in the same order over and over again this is the frame for you. When the frame turns itself off it defaults back to reviewing the pictures in internal memory, it does NOT go back to what you set it to previously and you cannot change this behavior. Even if you statically set an IP address, manually set the frame to talk to Flickr and pay for a Pro Flickr account the version of picture it displays is the lowest resolution possible. Why bother uploading high quality pictures when the frame wont display them anyway. Save yourself some money and time standing in line to return this product and don't buy it in the first place.

Feed your images from your computer, your memory cards, but best of all your connected internet content. Be it flickr.com to facebook.com to your local news or RSS feeds this is the coolest picture frame. I use framechannel.com to bring it all together. I can take a picture on my phone and email it to my framechannel.com account and it shows up on the picture frame in my living room. Way Cool!! My freinds can also email images directly to picture frame. It plays video from the memory card but, I can’t seem to stream video from the internet. All in all A+++

    Flaky software, not recommended

Got this frame specifically for the wireless capability. It was very easy to set up, and it was running and displaying pictures from my computer in less than 5 minutes. However, it wouldn't stay up. The frame would crash every few hours, reboot, and start playing the demo video with audio (really annoying until I deleted the file). Every now and then it would loose the wireless key and I had to re-enter it. Picture quality was not that great, and was not viewable even at small angles. Contacted Kodak Customer support, they could not help and recommended that I return the frame - which I did, for a refund.

Kodak just notified me that I need to pay for their online gallery service. I bought two frames for each set up grandparents and set them up wirelessly so they could get new photos easily. The Kodak Gallery service is the worst online photo service I have used but I made it work so I could use the frames. Now, after I dropped a couple hundred dollars on their frames, they want to charge for their online service which is ludicrus. I recommend you buy a photo frame which interfaces with other online photo sharing sites and not a Kodak frame.

    No Windows 7 Support

If you only want to download pictures to external media and display it, or download to the memory in the unit, then it works fine. It will not interoperate with the wireless functions to access a PC running Windows 7. Kodak has not yet released an update to the software (April, 2010) to support Windows 7. This is now over 6 months after the OS has been released. Therefore if you are running Windows 7, and only need the minimal functionality, get a lower priced unit without wireless.

I bought this frame for me! I love pictures and take a lot of them. I love this frame. It is easy to use. I have not tried to upload music yet though. The picture quality is good - but I have a really good camera. I would suggest this for anybody. You can either upload your pictures directly to the camera or to a card reader, very easy to use. Just wish it wasn't so expensive. I haven't had any problems with it at all as suggested on the other reviews.

A group of four of my friends each has a frame and enjoy sending pictures to each other. It’s easy to set up once you get used to the navigation bar. This frame would make an EXCELLENT gift for grandparents and/or friends etc. Super fun and looks great!

Worked out of the box. I just need to type the password to connect to internet via my router. Typing long passoword using the layout provided is difficult. Fun to read news, weather and other photographs from the internet...
