First Off, this is an Awesome Camera! I wanted a new slim, high mp camera for my upcoming trip to the Middle East. Kodak is not the most known for Digi Cams however we have all known for years about their Film and Disposable Cams. I have the Wine color. The Current-Orig. Price has been set at 169.99 however when it first came out it was at about 200.00. I got this on sale for $99 (in store pickup) at store they only sell it at 169.99. The Wine color is not girly looking at all. I'm a dude and Its a nice cool sleek look. The Functions are decent, not too many but also i'd say if your into all those diff color changes etc then might wanna look else where. However i'm not one with those diff settings. The camera takes awesome pictures, the auto focus works great. No blur, no shine, even through windows it deflects the glare. Even shots directly at the sun, it focuses great and gives you a nice clear shot. Now..I did give 5 stars to Pic Quality. and said there is Grain...However I did read the other reviews before getting this. But for me the grain shows on the LCD screen when ur in a poor lighted room/living room etc. (when ur looking to take a photo shot) However the camera focuses like crazy and gives enough flash to give a NON Grainy photo. (i think most that say they get grainy photos are trying to focus on certain things to far , or up way to close.) Now to those who are looking for a slim cam. this is not coolpix slim, its close but I like the size b/c i have big hands and very easy to grab and just click the photo button...it's not SUPER light, but the heft to it, shows quality, not cheap..however the on/off button u can't just press. for me i need to use my finger nail (again i have big hands though) but i like that its not that easy to turn off/on (some other cams while taking pix u can sometimes hit the on/off button). with this, that wont happen. The flash button is easy access. Rec. is awesome and clear. and yes you can zoom while your Recording. (its not a smooooth zoom..it will move in pulses when zooming while recoding) The cam comes with a battery, nice life. and a ac-charger. and usb cable...(battery charges in the cam......ac-usb, usb-pc) The access of the SD card is easy you can also remove and put in with out the battery coming out. the buttons next to the screen are easy to click on and very easy to go through the cam. one thing i really like is...UNDO deletion. (if you delete a pic, and then you realize you want it, you can undo it..(to a point). ) hopefully this is detailed for you. If you want a nice for the price, sleek, point and shoot, cam that you dont have to mess with having to do all the work your self this is the cam! (also added 2 photos for the review. one outside , one inside)

    Stay away from this camera!

I have had this camera over a month now, and have had plenty of time to experience the many flaws of this Kodak product. I was originally looking at it for a few reasons, the Kodak brand name, 12.4 mega-pixels, and the 5 zoom rather than similar 3 zoom cameras on the market. At the time I had purchased this camera there were no reviews of it on bestbuy.com yet, and that was my mistake by not waiting for any reviews of it. I wish I had been warned before I bought it. First off, I can't get this camera on a setting that takes a picture higher than 11.8 mega-pixel, so how Kodak advertises this as a 12.4 is unknown to me, because it's not. The 5 zoom on this camera is completely worthless, if you attempt to zoom in AT ANY RANGE (not just long distance) you lose all chance of the camera focusing. Every picture I have taken with any kind of zoom has come out fuzzy/grainy. The occasional lucky times I have got it to focus (without zooming) it takes forever, but about 75% of the time it still doesn't focus at all and just takes a blurry picture. It takes upward of 10 to 15 seconds to focus (if you aren't zoomed in at all, if you are, good luck trying to take anything clear). That makes this camera worthless for taking any "spur of the moment" pictures, because you'd have to ask whatever you're looking at to hold still for 15 seconds while you TRY to focus. Also, this camera makes an awful lot of noise as it TRIES to focus, it clicks repeatedly and then when it's done focusing it's usually showing up blurry still. I have played with the settings and tried all different modes, and this camera is junk in my opinion. It's almost as if Kodak released a camera that wasn't ready for the market yet, because I can't believe that I have so many issues trying to get a camera to focus, it's beyond irritating. Also, there are some design flaws that I was already irritated with after a month of owning it: the battery door slides open easily as you pull it out of your pocket (I've had this happen 4 times in a month) and the round settings knob on the top of the camera gets rotated everytime you put it in your pocket, so if you pull it out in a hurry you are almost surely not in the same mode you had left the camera in. This camera takes HORRIBLE indoor pictures, they always seem to come out grainy or fuzzy. It does however seem to take decent outdoor pictures. That's the one positive I have experienced with this camera. I am taking it back to Best Buy this week to try and get a real camera. Do yourself a favor, and just stop looking at this Kodak and find another camera with decent reviews.

I bought this camera for my wife to replace a Fuji digital camera. She wanted something smaller that she could carry easily in her purse. I originally wanted a Nikon Coolpix, but after reading several reviews decided against it. I started looking for other cameras and came across this one. At first, when it said "On Sale", I thought it would be one of those deals that was only $20 off. When I added it to my cart, I almost couldn't believe the price! I started researching it and reading reviews. There is a general concensus that the pics are grainy and blurry. Upon using the camera I did notice that the pics look grainy on the camera screen, but when I uploaded them on my computer, they were great. Some pics do come out blurry, but this is just a point and shoot, not an expensive DSLR. So far, the only complaint that I have is that the battery door comes open rather easily and you can accidentally open it when using the camera. To that point, however, the battery is held in the compartment by a little latch, so if you do open the door on accident, your battery is not going to fall out. Overall, this was a great purchase and my wife and I are extremely happy. So if you want a good camera at a great price, you cannot go wrong with this one!

You know, I found myself in the same boat as a ton of others out there. I got this camera on sale for that awesome 99$ price point and thought "No way!" In the following weeks, I had to read a bunch of bad reviews which made me pretty nervous and insecure. Upon arrival, I opened the thing right away and checked it out. I got that "Grainy, jagged" issue but you see.. it's not that serious. I say that because if you zoom in on your photo with these grains or jagged edges, they go away. If you upload this photo on your PC, it goes away. So, thank the Maker because nothing is wrong with the camera's photo taking ability. It's the camera's screen which has a poor resolution for the said pictures. (Which were taken at the highest megapixel quality, 11.4 I believe?) There's nothing wrong with this thing if you wanted a low costing, awesome camera. The wine colour (Which I own) looks great, it handles fine, the "clicky" noises are hardly noticeable unless you're locked in a room with absolutely no other sounds around you. Point, shoot, enjoy. You truly can't complain unless you're looking for something that will suit your new paparazzi job. (If you happen to be standing inside of a tree from 50 miles away, stalking)

I looked all over to find a good 12MP camera and the search stopped once I got to play with the display model in BestBuy. The camera is very easy to use, the pictures are awesome especially if you own a Mac and see the brilliant colors and clear details in a photo. The 3.5 inch screen makes a great feature since most other camera's are 2.5. There are many features included in this thing, one great thing is that you can easily share your photos and upload them to Facebook and/or the Kodak website. This doesn't seem like much until you actually try it, so much time is saved doing it this way. If you are looking for a very good quality camera with very long battery life give the Kodak M381 a try and you will not be disappointed at all. This camera is well worth the money from any stand point. Just to warn any soon to be purchaser's, please note that the camera is listed as a 12MP camera but when you physically use it the camera will actually photograph in 11.8 MP. I don't understand the misguiding advertisement but it is truely not noticeable.

First off - According to Best Buys web page it is a 12.4MP camera, where Kodak advertises it as a 12 MP and the highest on the camera setting is 11.8MP. So you are buying a 11.8, not a 12.4 MP camera. This was my biggest gripe about ordering it online and not in the store. The Best Buy website should update there product info to reflect the MP correctly. The other gripe is over the USB charger that comes with camera, and no bullet charger, which the camera has a port for. The setup guide / instruction manual is only 12 or so pages in English and refers to the website for the rest of the camera feature info. The kodak camera that we bought 4 years ago has over 100 page manual and was more helpfull. I could not find the SD card maximum size in the manual at all. The LCD screen is plenty big to review pictures and the on screen navigation is okay for me. I could see someone like my mom, who's more technically challenged having problems finding basic functions and adjustments.

Camera's auto focus is flakey. This happened on both my and my son's camera. I wanted a simple to use, no frills camera with auto everything. This camera had the Smart Capture mode which would satisfy my wife's need and a few others features to satisy the Tim Allen side of me. After taking many pictures for a few weeks, a majority turned out blurry. Since the camera is a point-and-shoot, I called Kodak to determine if it was me or the camera. The rep instructed me not to use the the facial recognition feature (i.e. pushing shutter halfway down before taking picture) because it appeared to focus on something other than the subject. Even this did not clear up the problem so the camera is being returned for repair. Had the BesBuy return policy not expired, I'd be exchanging it for another brand. My son smartly bought the extended warranty so he's returning his for another brand. Users cannot turn off many of the automatic features which is both good and bad.

Only had the camera since Christmas, but it is easy to use and takes very good pics. I liked the 3" viewing screen and the extra zoom capability. So far, the only thing I have not been happy with is the ability to add the date to all pictures. You can edit the picture, on the camera, and add the date, but I can't find any option to do that automatically. It may be there, but I haven't discovered it yet. Not a big deal, but nice when you want it. The case fits well, but would have been nice to have had a side pocket for a spare battery. So far, battery life seems good, but it never hurts to have a spare just in case. You need a memory card to use the camera at all as the onboard memory only gives you a dozen pic or so at max resolution. You can reduce the resolution to get more, but you lose quality doing that. Getting a memory card solves that. Overall a good point and shoot type of camera with many features that I have not had time to explore yet.

This is a 12 meg camera yet my pics are only 1.3 MB? I dont understand as I have another 10 MB camera and the file size is around 5MB. I suspect this to be the case as the quality of the photo is not great. The phots looks good at first but zoom in and instant grainy and blurring. Like I said, at first glance everything seems good but after experimenting with it it is lacking. I'm returning it for a real one this time. Canon. I bought it today and just saw online it was on sale and this continues to happen to me at Best Buy. I paid way too much anyways after seeing these reviews. 169.99. I was looking for the 3" LCD with the highest Megapixels. Deal breaker is the crazy low video playback volume that is non adjustable, the quality of your photos when zooming or cropping is horrible and last but not least the sounds it is always making even when not taking pics but just moving around as it continues to autofocus even when not taking pics.

Basic: I'm a musician who just wants simple shots and needs live video recordings here and there, nothing fancy, but good enough for youtube. I also do a little art here and there and use pictures that I take for them. Anyway, my main goal was to get a cam that can do all these things for me. Again, nothing High and Fancy was ever expected from the Video of the cam, however the actual Images, I did expect clear shots. I kept on getting tons of shots that had a very high contrast and grainy as well. Maybe it'll do good for someone who's not into art. It has a lot of nice options and a nice panoramic option that in my test run did some nice shots. But again because of the grainy and contrast, nothing I could take woulda been fine for me. Summarize, if you just need a cam for basic shots and videos, go for it, however I woudln't recommend this one for the price. My 7mp previous cam of another brand was better / clearer.

I bought this camera to replace another Kodak camera that I misplaced. I got a great deal on it and there are plenty of nice features. I chose a Kodak again because I have had 3 previous ones that I liked and I am very familar with Kodak software. However, I find that the pictures come out very blurry with this camera - even on the blur reduction mode. The screen is very "grainy" when viewing the pictures as well. I find myself having to delete many pictures that turn out poorly. I've never had this with my other Kodak cameras. Because of the nice price I received, I bought another one of these at the same time for my 10 year old son who is a very good photographer, I am going to return it.

Worst Camera I Have Ever Used

I looked at several camera and compared price as well as features and honestly thought that I had done well. I couldn't have been more wrong. Nearly every photo I took was grainy and blurred. I have twin toddlers and they don't stop moving, I need a camera that is fast and functional but I can't even blame them for the poor photo quality. This camera took terrible pictures even of stationary objects. I very rarely return things but here I felt I had no choice. I went back and got a Canon and I am very pleased with it. I just wish I had exchanged the camera before I missed my kids second Thanksgiving. I think I have one moderately good photo from the whole day. Very sad.

The features and operation of this camera are top notch and very easy to use, with all the controls in good locations and a great LCD screen. I absolutely loved everything about this camera, until I tried to get the pictures down-loaded to my PC. The 'Share" button would have been much better used if it would dump all the pics to the PC. I don't k now what it does- useless. The Kodak EasyShare program is OK but you must use this program to get pics off the camera - very BAD. (I will probably pull the memory card and read it directly) The camera should have been set-up to allow windows to see it as a USB storage device. Poor planning on Kodak's part. The User Guide is much too simple. Manufacturers need to drop all the multiple language stuff (hint: most people buying Kodak cameras speak English) and this guide needs much more information.

I got this camera on Black Friday and all I can say is WOW. This camera is fantastic. People say is takes grainy pictures but it might look that way if you are in a dark room. If you are in a well lit room the pictures come out great. I got this camera for $99.00 and it was a great investment. The price has gone up by $50 since Black Friday but I would still recommend it. People who come out with blurry pictures don't know how to focus the camera so it comes out clear. This camera also has a nice feel in the hand and has a sleek look to it. The camera does make some clicking sounds when you focus but it is not that big of a problem. All in all this is a great camera for the price and it takes nice pictures. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Go to a Best Buy and try one out. The only opinion that matters is your own.

Still getting use to all the features of the camera but liking them all so far. Love the large viewing screen. Not sure how long the rechargeable battery will last. My previous Kodak camera took aa batteries so I liked the convenience of always carring a couple extra batteries with me. Picture quality is great. Only complaint is the store ordered it for me because they were out of stock. I was told the special sale came with a free sd card with the purchase of the camera. The camera was shipped to my house but did not have an sd card with it. Emailed Kodak about it right before Christmas included my shipping order number, but never received a response to my email. But... I have no complaints with the camera. My family all has Kodak easy shares and love them all.

I am a Kodak fan. I have been for a while. These EasyShare cameras (plus the convenient software), have made me look like an expert photographer to my friends and coworkers. At reasonable prices, I get one of the most easy to use cameras around. It's so easy, I have bought some for non-technologically inclined family members and they were taking AND EDITING photos with quickness. The only con, if there was one is that every once in a while you get blurry photos (which is often because I moved or something). So I just get in the habit of taking 2 or 3 shots all the time and most of the time I get 2 really goot shots to choose from, pick the best, delete the rest, and I end up with a lot of really good photos. I would recommend this camera to any and everyone.

Ok so first of all this will take some pretty good pictures. I have taken some and had them blown up and they look as good as professional, however I am very ticked off that I cannot download the pictures straight to MY computer to save. So far I have ONLY been able to download from this camera if I am on kodak.com and that I HATE. I put my memory card into my old camera so I can download pics to file on my computer. Also you can take pic after pic (fast clicks) but the pics following the first will be blurry because the flash is not ready fast enough. Like I said this camera is just ok and if I could return it I would simply because it is inconvenient to have to use my old camera to download pics just so I can actualy store them on my computer!

I just wanted a small, cheap camera to keep in my purse so I would never miss a picture. I had an old 4 mp Olympus that was a little larger and the batteries would no longer last for a couple of pictures. So, I was excited about going to a 12 mp and assumed the pictuers would be incredible. They are not. I have not taken a crystal clear, good picture yet and I've taken a couple hundred already. My 4 mp pictures are much, much better. Even if it looks like it's a clear pictures on the viewer, once you download it to your computer or print it, it's blurry. I don't understand how a 12 mp could not take a crystal clear picture, but if you're looking for a camera that does and you don't want blurry pictures, do not buy this camera.

This replaced my DX4900 which I loved but replaced because I wanted a smaller camera, with larger viewing screen. I can't figure out why some pictures are fuzzy. This never happened with my old Kodak. Pressing half down for auto focus is hard to master. The double flash for red eye reduction a problem because most move right after first flash. The knob on top for settings very small and hard to read even with glasses. Easy to put in wrong mode by accident. There are many add'l features which require more studying and experience using before mastering. I can live without them if I could just get clear pics most of the time. Either camera broken or I'm doing something wrong. Only used 6 times in last month.

Although features are great, pictures are not. I didnt want to believe the other reviews on it, but it is in fact, quite grainy. After the picture is taken, it either comes out okay or bad, never excellent, or good, dont ever try to zoom with the camera, it's already bad enough...Its a real disappointment especially compared to the m360, my original. Also, it "thinks" alot. The camera make alot of noise whenever you halfway press the shutter button, and if you don't give it enough time to think, it freezes slightly, for just 1 second. Still it's a pain... If your going to get this camera, keep in mind that it wasn't made for awesome pictures...just getting the job done one way or another
