Best point and shoot with 12X optical zoom

This is by far the best point and shoot digital camera for the budget minded. It has excellent fit and finish, excellent feel and a fantastic optical zoom. I love the rotating dial up top that gives you instant control of the camera. If you already understand the rudimentary of photography, you'll love all the manual overide modes. The instruction manual itself will not help you with any of its functions. Also, you MUST buy the "OPTIONAL" lithium ion rechargeable battery with a charger. Its ironic since this is the only battery that will work with this camera but it's not included. Best Buy sells the battery and charger kit for around $47. When going on a trip, take the included lithium battery as a back up but don't ever use it as your main battery. They cost $10 each!!!!!! (I've tried using AA NiMH 2500ma/h they're no good for this camera either) Not many camera in this price range give you this much control. For example; you can set the shutter for up to 16 minutes exposure time for some crazy total darkness shot. You can even 'push' your flash length for an even brighter exposure without affecting the aperture or shutter. The only 2 irritations I have are: the lack of an optical viewfinder and the pop up flash that's triggered by the on switch. It always pops up even when it's not needed. But I got around to that by holding it down while turning the camera on. Kodak would be better off charging about $50 more and give you the lithium ion rechargeable and a small 2GB card. They would sure to please most consumers if they did. Personally, I still think it's a great value.

Should Come with Power Supply/Battery Charger

The camera works great. Autofocus, zoom and shooting modes all work great - until the battery gets weak then you're done if you didn't buy the dock or battery charger. Connecting via the supplied USB cable DOES NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY. Connecting the 3 VDC wall wort DOES NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY. The only ways to charge the battery are to remove it and put it in the ADDITIONAL COST charger or use the ADDITIONAL COST dock. Kodak should be ashamed of themselves for selling this without required accessories. This camera is pretty good but don't compare it to another product without adding about $50.00 for the things YOU WILL NEED to use this product

    Wonderful Features But.....

Was all excited to use to camera which I felt had great value features for the money and also had the pkg of card and tripod. When I took it out of the box it took only minutes to realize that this camera was too heavy to carry around as well as feel comfortable taking pictures with it. I didn't require a very light or small camera but this the weight of this model seem to overcome the wonderful features. If the other features tempt you make sure you pick up one in the store & see if it bothers you also.

    Excellent PIX For The Money

Lens takes beautiful pictures with natural vibrant colors The quality of your photos will rival that of a dslr. Use rechargeable AA batteries and you will be much happier. Refresh rate is a bit slow but manageable. Build quality is good, and the access to the memory card slot is quite easy. Would like to have received a video cable to go directly into HDTV.

I had my purse stolen with this camera in it. They ditched my purse without seeing the camera and it spent a week out in the pouring rain. When it was recovered it was soaking wet. I let it dry out and the camera still worked and there was no fog or spots on the leans...... On top of the great pictures it takes this camera is really really durable and worth every penny.

I bought this camera because I wanted to be able to enlarge pictures to 10 X13 without having any pixel breakdown. It is a great camera for the money. The software that comes with it is easy to use and gives you many options to edit your pictures. It also takes good nighttime pictures, that can be hard to find on the less expensive cameras. Would highly recommend.

AVOID! Takes too long to write to SD If you need to take rapid shots you are out of luck Some pics come out half written & therefore useless Requires special Kodak non-rechargeable batteries (supplied); std 2500mA rechargeable battery last a few shot

Can't even get 100 pictures from ultimate lithium batteries. Regular alkaline won't even turn it on. And don't even think about rechargeables
