    Good while It Lasted

i needed a easy use to use camera to document crazy life events, was good for 6 months until flash just went out, don't know why, I have never drop it, i'm pretty careful, but it just went out, never got it fix got a newer camera, but i still recommend this camera if you know how to deal with kodak products. uploading pictures and videos were fine and easy and the beginning, but after awhile the software started freezing on the computer and uploads were taking longer than usual, or wouldn't upload at all. still don't no why o yea brought camera sept 2008

This Camera is Good The Videos COme Out Good and You Can make Pictures from the videos which is what i really liked about the camera but i usually use video and create pictures from it because the other modes make the picture all grainy and its really upsetting because it's a nice camera but if you zoom in forget it you can hardly see the picture even if its on video. However This Camera is great if You Dont Zoom In.

    Great first camera

This is my first ever camera, and so far I love it. I have a friend who works at best buy and she is a photography major. I asked her which camera should i get for the cheapest price, she said to get this one b/c its great price and not cheap. I got it for $145, includes the camera, easy share program, 4g memory card and 2 yr warranty. First i feel thats a great deal. It takes amazing photos. It is easy to use for point and shoot, and it has plenty of different modes to take other pictures if you know what your doing. For me thats the only downside, i havn't set it down since i bought it two days ago b/c i am still trying out each picture mode to see what takes the best pictures in certain situations. I love the easy share program that comes with it. Its simple, easy to use, may not have as many editing feature as say more expensive programs like photoshop or something. But it lets you edit them and add fun features. The video taking feature isn't amazing, but i didn't buy a video camera i bought a camera. All in all as my first camera i love it, do wish i had more choices in color than just red though.

    Very enjoyable camera

I got this as a Christmas present and I love it! Overall, I found it to be a great camera for quick pictures. I really liked how it lets you choose how many megapixels you want to use varying from 1.2 - 8.2. I was turned off though, by the slow shutter speed, but the quality of the pictures makes up for it. I'd recommend using a Kodak 2GB Memory card with this camera, because it holds up to 1260 8.2 MP pictures with one!

    Really Great Camera

I purchased this camera for myself about 2 weeks ago. I used to have an HP M817, it was really heavy and the LCD screen was small. But I'm so happy that I got this one. It is really easy to use, I love that it's lightweight and compact. I searched for the right camera for weeks, and I'm glad that this is the one I bought. I've already convinced a co-worker to buy the red one!

    Decent camera, not the best

    Posted .

I bought this camera last year to replace my old 3.1 megapixel one. Honestly, the picture quality isn't much better than my old camera. I was expecting crystal clear pictures, but most of them turn out blurry. I just use the antiblur setting now, but sometimes they still don't come out well. A friend of mine got a different brand for the same price and her pictures are so much clearer! I wish I would have bought a different brand now. Overall, the camera works, just not as well as some other brands. If you're an avid photographer, this camera probably won't satisfy you, but if you just occasionally take pictures, this one will work great for you! Also, I had to contact Kodak to have them explain how to transfer pictures using Windows instead of the EasyShare software. The computer will not recognize the camera is connected and transfer pictures unless you change several settings. I found the EasyShare software annoying to use and uninstalled it.

    ok camera

I bought this camera for my girlfriend last valentines day and she loved it. It is easy to use, it takes great pictures, and the price was good. We had the camera for about three months and the lens got stuck and the camera would not work. We took it to BB and they had it fixed and back in our hands in a week. Fast forward about four months while taking pictures at a party the screen got fuzzy and the pictures were all distorted. We again took it to BB and sent it off got it back in about a week. Best Buy has been great about taking care of the problems It just seems that this camera is cheaply made as it was taken care of extremely well and has had several problems. My girlfriend loves the camera so we have purchased a more expensive Kodak to replace it as it is now out of warranty. hopefully we have better luck with it.

    Best Camera for the $$$

    Posted .

I shopped around for about 2 weeks for a small but effective camera that would take great action shots. I had a Sony Cybershot that would blur images constantly and would take pictures 5 seconds after pushing the button. My daughter dropped it and I was upset at the time but I AM GLAD SHE DID. This Kodak M863 IS by FAR the BEST camera in this or any other price range. It takes pictures when I want it to. It takes great action shots. Today I took a picture of a ceiling fan in motion and the shot was perfect as if the fan was off and still. The scene selection is great and I cant wait to try out the fireworks scene in a few days. Now time to buy some accessories. Order online because it is always sold out in stores. I am purchasing another just in case this one drops of course right on the lens.

    I'm Returning It

    Posted .

I bought this camera after much research because my last camera broke in 2 weeks. i was very disappointed. First of all, I love taking close of pictures of everything so it fills the frame. This camera doesn't focus at all even when you are in close up mode that was especially made for pictures 70 cm or closer. It also doesn't focus when you are very far away. Also, the flash is way to strong. It makes everything look white no matter what the lighting is. But if you turn it off, the picture won't come out. the only flash that works well is in the mode where you are taking a self portrait. movie mode doesn't focus either and the sound is way off; even though you can barely hear it. One of the only cons to this camera is the perfect touch. It is very hard to find (it is in the menu while you are doing playback) but I used it on one of my good pictures and it turned out crisp and with a great color. However I only did this on one picture. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this to a friend because it is unreliable and there are cheaper cameras that take better pictures.

    Good for Inexperienced Camer Users

    Posted .

This camera is light and fairly durable, however the screen can be easily scratched. Operation of the camera is so simple and easy for any age to handle. The downside is that the pictures aren't that great of a quality and tend to turn out grainy and just not good to look at. A camera with a higher mega pixels could be a better choice for a more serious user.

    It fits my needs

I was able to figure out the camera without reading the instructions. I really enjoy all the extra scan settings. I have used other cameras before and didn't even know about extra settings. I find that the pictures look better if you take the time to set the specifics such as enviroment (snow, beach, sunset) and other settings. It is a good camera for family pictures. The one thing that bothers me is how it looks so grainy at times. It feels like I have to take pictures of some things mutiple times to be satisfied.

    Not worth purchasing!

    Posted .

I bought this camera last year, and I've had to send it back 3 times. I love that the camera is easy to use, but I would rather have a difficulty using the camera and it not brake. This camera is very fragile and can't stand alone in a bag or purse. I am not rough with it at all; I do blame it on Kodak because the Best Buy worker said, "Kodak has been having a problem with their cameras lately." Although it takes amazing pictures, it's just not worth it. I recommend a CANON camera.

    Pretty good.

My mom got this camera to replace my other one that had gotten lost. I wanted a purple cameras, but since it was a gift I got a red. Nice color, slim. Haven't had any difficulties w/ it yet, and I'm hoping I don't. Really like it. but it doesn't have as many features as my other camera. Easy to use; I learn how to use it without the manual. Has good picture quality. Barely got it, but I'm starting to love it already!

    Very Good Camera!!!

when i got the camera i of course opened it up and put everything together, and it is very easy to put together by the way..... i took lots of pictures and videos!!! the only thing that dissapointed me was the life of the battery; it lasted a long time it seemed to me, but if you are on a trip where you cannot hook it up and charge it...... i would be a little bit worried.

    Really like it

I bought this camera simply for a "going out" camera. Something I could stick in my back pocket or purse. It's great for that. For the most part, the pictures are great and the ease of use is fabulous. I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to a friend for a simple point and shoot type camera. Definitely not intended for the serious photographer.

    Super Cool

Very easy to use and love the fact that it has a rechargable battery instead the quality is very good and most of all it has the red eye protection so no need to worry about anyone eyes looking red on your pic and its also light weight and easy to store in your purse but the only problem I don't like is that the flash light is so bright but overall a great camera 2 have

You have to be very careful with it

    Posted .

We bought it as a gift, and we were impressed with the pictures it took. But it seems even a slight jolt can break something inside this camera. We had a lot of problems with it and took it in and it would cost as much to fix as to replace. When I did a little more research, it seemed to be a fairly common issue with easy share cameras.

Good for a point and shoot

    Posted .

I bought this for a quick point and shoot camera for when I am on the go. I have a nice Canon Digital Rebel for other shots but needed one when I have play dates and such. This works nicely. The pics aren't perfect but the shutter speed is fast which I needed with kids who don't sit still long.

Quality sucked for a supposed 8.2MP res.

    Posted .

My brother has the M763. It has 7.2MP. And of course I had to out do him so I bought this one, the M863. It has 8.2MP. BUT, do NOT let that fool you. His camera's quality kills mine. The quality for this camera is complete garbage for a claimed 8.2MP resolution. If there are any areas in the picture that are anything other than white its fuzzy. And I say other than white cause you cant really notice the fuzziness on the white objects. This camera's features are amazing...but features mean nothing if the quality can't match it. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with this product. I would not recommend this to ANYONE. Don't waste your money and don't waste your time...buy a different camera!
