I got this camera not long ago. I had this extra money for T----- and got this. It's very good for nature pictures but not the best for group shots. I tried to use this at a 5K at night and the pictures were no good at night. The video isn't that sensitive to light, so make sure you have good lighting conditions. Also if your indoors, if you take a picture of something of a dark color, that spot will look pixelated. But the zoom is pretty good, not good for low light, but almost every camera is poor in some low lights. I'm saving up for a new camera, but this is actually very good. This camera would be good for travel and close-ups and lots of other things.

Okay for beginner
I owner an older Kodak digital camera, so I'm comparing experiences. The old one had an orientation sensor; this one's description claims it does, but it does not work; all photos display landscape, and ones taken where camera is held vertically must be rotated once I download them to my computer. The camera easily loses focus if camera wiggles while taking picture; I never noticed this with the last camera. It is very lightweight, but small, making it harder to grip and hold onto. The menu is non-intuitive. Good range of resolution, but typically I do not need the higher ones. The flash is good when nearby, but fades quickly when further away, picture is almost all dark.

Awesome camera for anyone to use.
Use this camera for work. Ease of operation is great. Quality pictures. For the price I would rate it one of the best cameras out there.
