    Great Little Cam for $

Bought this in a last minute rush for a fam event. I'm a professional but I didn't want to use my DSLR and my old Kodak ES V530 keeled over the last time I used it. I also have a Nikon Coolpix that I don't care for, so it was time to seek out a new one. Anyway, saw this one the morning of my family event, played with it in the store and decided I would get it and if I wasn't certain, I'd bring it back. My main concern was a camera that took good indoor pictures, that were crisp and clear and one that I could decide when I wanted to use the flash. I found that many P&S cams out there made it difficult for this option, or at least it wasn't easy to figure out. But this one delivers. Of course a few came out blurry but it was due to the fact I was still in practice. The smart capture feature is great, the camera chooses the best setting based on what you are shooting. Tons of manual adjustments as well, and you can use the Program or Scene mode which are also great. Takes great macro (I LOVE a good macro shot) and over all takes great pics even without flash, when your lighting is good. LOVE the panoramic feature, really cool! Takes great vids as well. I can take or leave the "share" feature, but I tried it out as well and it's a nice bonus. No disc necessary, just plug and play. CONS: Battery life isn't up to par, and I've even turned on the energy save mode. Slow recovery, it has just a bit of a delay between shots, but burst mode works well if you want three fast ones in a row. Can't rename files and I've noticed that the camera names your images differently depending on what mode you shoot in. Which is a bit of a pain because it puts them out of order once they are on the computer. Really wish the camera would remember the setting I last left it on. I prefer the portrait mode in scenes, but the camera automatically goes back to smart capture. It only takes a quick second to get it back to what you want it on tho, so not a deal breaker. Overall the pros outweigh the cons for ease of use and quality of photo. Used the sport mode with my daughter on the swings and they came out nicely. Takes fabulous scenery shots as well. I highly recommend this little camera! Bypass all the new fangled high dollar point and shoots and get this little guy if you want something inexpensive but good quality!

OK This Camera is Awesome But for a few flaws...

This camera takes amazing pictures, is small and compact, and lightweight and pretty. it's an amazing camera with lots of features, especially in the "scenes" setting, it has over 10! what i dont like about this camera is that its so small and lightweight, like other small cameras are too (so its nothing specific to kodak just to small cameras) anyway its so lightweight that i can tell dropping it would break it, definitely buy a case and be mondo careful with it. also the buttons are very small which wouldn't bother me but i have very long nails so its hard to use for me, i think i might have to cut off my nails just to enjoy this camera. but to me electronics are more important than my nails lol. one more thing, i got this camera on sale for 99 dollars by going in store instead of buying online! do not buy this online without checking in store first! i got it yesterday for $99! thats 30 dollars off! overall i love this camera though :) oh but in store they might only have black as the color, i wanted the color on display but they didn't have it. thats the downfall to getting it in store. also it doesn't come with the cables u need to hook it up and display it on the TV screen, but it tells you you can. my moms camera came with the cable so i was disappointed. oh big thing: battery only lasts about an hour before dying befgore you have to recharge it. they obviously want you to invest in a better battery which costs 30 bucks. i know i'm going on and on. lol i love this camera belive it or not. i just want everyone to see the flaws that i didnt know about before they buy it. ^_^ to me the good stuff outweights the flaws:)

This camera is great. I researched a myriad of different (and more expensive) cameras near this price range and this was the best I could find. You honestly couldn't get a better camera for the price (when I bought it, it was only $99) and the picture quality is amazing. It uploads pictures with the share button straight to your email or facebook (and you can still upload them the old fashioned way too). The camera is small and compact, but easy to drop for a clumsy person like me so be sure to wear the hand strap it comes with. The only issue I've had with the camera is that it doesn't have (or I just haven't found out how to) an option to take black and white pictures or negative pictures and such. I always liked those options but I have photoshop so it didn't bother me too much. It does, however take panoramic shots and have a bunch of other cool features. Also, I'm not sure if it's just my computer or not but sometimes when I plug the camera to my computer it doesn't seem to want to register that it's there or it will show up with an error message. It typically works then if I restart my computer though.

i've had this camera for over more than a month and it's just amazing. i didn't think that this camera would be all that good. but it really is awesome. takes great pictures inside and outside or in whatever conditions as long as you have you choose the right scene. it has 12 megapixels so the pictures look just great when you enlarge them. it's very easy to use and pretty. the share button on it is really great too. as soon as you plug it in it'll send those pictures wherever you want to send them. i don't see any negative side to this camera except for when you shoot a video. if the lighting is great the video comes out pretty good, but when you listen to it you can't really hear it that much even if you raise the volume but then again it's just a digital camera, not like it's a cam corder. but other than that it's a nice camera. it's worth it's price and i would definitely recommend this to a friend

I purchased the Kodak M530 for $90 and have to admit it is one of the best snapshot cameras I've used at any price range. The screen is larger than most compact cameras. While not touch screen the buttons on the right are spaced well enough for ease of use. The zoom is alittle lacking but is well above what is expected in a camera under $100. The features are well presented and easy to access. I had to go thru a long, confusing menu on my last camera just to turn on the auto-timer or record video. Not with this camera, most features can be reached within 2-3 button presses. The face recognition works well and low light pictures look vibrant. I also love that it includes a rechargable battery that seem to have plenty of longevity. I have had the camera for over a month and only tend to charge it once a week.

    Pretty Good Camera!

This is now my 3rd Kodak camera that I have purchased. I really like Kodak because of all of the features, and the picture quality. I bought this camera because my other Kodak broke after 3 years! I decided to go with this one mostly for the price, and because i needed a camera fast. I like this camera a lot, but I am looking for a new one. This camera takes outstanding pictures 7/10 times. I love it because the colors are very bright, and most of the time the pictures are clear. Some times the pictures come out blurry, or dark. && I don't know how to use all the features, so i'm hoping to learn if I don't get a new one. I've had this camera for a few months, i've dropped it about 5 times so far.. it still works wonderfully, but it scratches easily. I would recommend this camera to anyone who just wants a nice, cheap, good quality camera for all ages!

I bought it because I wanted a camera that I could carry in a pocket of my cargo shorts and be able to take out and shoot easily. It works as I intended for it, however, I sometimes have to take two or more shots because they blur easy; and the subjects were not really moving. Another problem is the battery compartment, it keeps popping open. I pulled it out of my pocket one time to find the battery missing, luckily it fell inside my pocket. KODAK's proprietary technology makes it hard to manage the pictures/movies on the memory card. I like to unload my pictures to my computer, format the memory card, and then copy the images I want to take to the local kiosk for printing back to the memory card; no can do with KODAK. I had to use an old camera and memory card to carry just the ones I wanted.

If you're not in the market for a super-awesome-fab camera (in other words, if you're not prepared to drop $500 on a camera), this one would be a great one to go with. I haven't yet used the Share features, so I can't testify to their convenience, but it was one of the selling points of the camera, and I will be using them in the future. I had no trouble figuring out how to use the Share button, either--in fact, I discovered how to use all the features on my own while using the demo in the store. As far as photo quality goes, it's perfectly acceptable for my purposes; it's definitely better than taking pictures with my phone. The battery lasts a pretty long time, and I had no trouble connecting it to my laptop. I got it on a pretty good sale, so it was definitely worth the money.

I got this camera because my fancy Nikon was being repaired and the camera price was so low, I thought it might be a mistake, but it was correct. I figured it couldn't be that good but it takes better photos than my fancy nikon and much more easily. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to take photos with this camera. Plus it takes great video! It's also small enough to fit in a pocket and with the 4G memory card, I was able to record a whole hour of a band playing on stage since I stopped it after each song and only started it again when they started the next song. I liked it so much, my husband go himself one as well. It has a large LED screen so you can see the photos well. The only negative thing is that it's so small I keep losing it in my purse.

Kodak "Easy Share" Not so Easy to Use

This Kodak Easy Share was the 4th digital camera I've bought and after a very frustrating time trying to figure out how to use the Easy Share software and upload pictures, I returned it and bought a Nikon CoolPics...which was truly easy to figure out. This camera did not come with any driver-CD and the camera failed to communicate with my computer, except via the Easy Share software. I could upload single pictures by selecting them one at a time, but when I would "select all" and then try to upload all the pictures at once, it failed to execute this command. The Easy Share software took a long time to load onto my computer and also was very slow in opening and operating. I also don't want to upload pictures to the Kodak Gallery...I just want them on my computer. Unfortunately, I found the Kodak system confusing, slow and I was unable to figure out how to use it to do what I wanted, and what I've done with every other camera I've owned.

I purchased this camera because I heard so much about the quality of the Kodak camera. I choose this camera for the price, ease of use and because it had a rechargeable battery. I gave it to my granddaughter for Christmas and she was so excited. However, the battery lasted for the day (she took a lot of videos and watched them on the camera) and when we charged it the battery would not hold the charge. I did some research online and found out that if you let the battery die completely you cannot recharge it. That is bull#!*%. You think Kodak would have put a large warning on the instructions but no. I guess they plan on making their money on batteries at $20.00 a piece. I brought the camera back and purchased a Panasonic Lumix. I have one myself and would recommend the Panasonic Lumix to everyone and I will be sure to tell everyone NOT to buy the Kodak!

I bought this as a birthday gift for my sister, she absolutely loves it. It's been one of the only lime green cameras I've found, its her favorite color. =] I've had nothing but great experiences with Kodak EasyShare cameras, they are easy to use, long battery life, and take really great quality pictures. Better than my more expensive camera too, I would definitely recommend this product to a friend, and I do have another birthday gift coming up, and will probably try a different color, I love the options!

So I was obsessed with Cannon digital cameras and wanted something cheap but good after my cameras failed me after several years-great pics but they broke for different reasons on me, Then after buying a fuji that broke in less than a year, I said lets give Kodak a try(I had heard not so good stuff from friends when Kodak digitals first came out) .This one is a good camera, seems good so far easy to use and the camera comes with an adaptor not a charger which I'm not all that used to..but. and the only thing I found difficult to use was the video it took some getting used to after using the cannon and fuji video which is so easy to use...but for the price(I got it on sale) its a good camera Definitely go ahead and buy it...:)

    Won't Turn On

I bought this camera on Black Friday to replace my older Kodak EasyShare 5 MP. I never should have bought this hunk of junk! Now it won't even turn on! I tried to take pictures with it one day, the lens came out and then it died! I did manage to get it to turn back on so the lens would retract. Now the only way it will turn on is if it's plugged into the wall charger. I have babied this camera beyond belief! My old EasyShare has scratches and dents all over it and has been dropped God knows how many times and it still works like a champ at almost 5 years old! Oh, and battery life is horrible, before the thing dies I mean Do yourself a favor and just leave this model alone! If I didn't have to give it any stars, I would have just done that.

    Kodak EasyShare M530

I'm a photograher and use a Canon 50D. But I was going to Costa Rica and decided to only take a small pocket size camera. I first bought a 10 megapixel Canon A3000 and really liked it. Not a DSLR but really a nice $100 camera. I thought I'd lost it and at the last minute had to buy a Kodak Easyshare M530. What a piece of junk. It is the LEAST intuitive camera I have use by far, the photo and video quality is terrible and there is just nothing redeeming about it. Fortunately, I found the Canon and got to use it on the trip, but I learned my lesson on buying a Kodak. I'm sorry to see such a historic company go down like this, but that was one bad camera.

I picked up this camera when it was on sale and you got the free memory card and carry case. I took it on our trip to Utah and right out of the box it took great pictures and the battery life was amazing (my brother also bought a new Olympus camera for our trip and his battery would run out daily while mine lasted 2-3 days on each charge). It also has an easy share button so my pictures were downloaded to my PC quickly. Highly recommended product.

I had to return this camera once due to it have something loose on the inside and it had a rattling sound everytime a picture was taken. Then I used this camera on vacation and it took great daytime pictures but at nightime it was discovered the flash was broken. Well due to Best Buy's return policy of 14 days I had to contact Kodak for the warranty and it's been 4 days and they have yet to email the information to return the camera to them. Very frustrated because the camera does take good pictures but has been not worth all this hassle.

This little camera rides with me in my car, and is quite easy to use. I use a dSLR for my serious photography, and carry the Kodak for the unexpected moments and to document progress of some projects. It is light and fairly easy to use, once one finds the buttons for each action. I managed to turn the camera off the first few times I used it. The buttons are a little small and not easily manipulated by those of us with older fingers. They do the job, however, and that is really the bottom line.

I've purchased 2 other digital cameras in the past 2 years a sony and a cannon and both were good but not as SIMPLE as this Kodak . I had an easy share years ago which I loved, it took great pictures and was so easy to use. This new one is even easier and better quality . I LOVE IT and will never switch to the more complicated ones again. The quality on the others was fine it's the ease of use that's the most important to me.

The Kodak M530 is a great little camera. It is very easy to use and takes great pictures with little effort. The camera is just the right size. The screen is large enough to provide a good view of what you are photographing while the camera Itself is small enough to carry easily in a pocket or just in your hand. One of the main reasons I purchased a new camera was for the ease of putting my photos on my computer and blog. This camera has fit the bill perfectly. Check out some of my photos at avid-indoorsman.blogspot.com.
