    Good Price - Poor Product.

I owned an earlier model of this camera the Kodak EasyShare V1235 which I have had for 2+ years. I used this camera every single day and for the most part it was great. Till about 6 months ago it started acting up and today it bit the dust. So I purchased this camera the M575 and it was on sale. I paid $250 for the old one and only $79 for this new one. Well when I took it out of the box I was already not happy with the product. The lightweight feeling made it feel just cheap. The placement of buttons was not how I would want them. I like to think of myself as pretty knowledgeable with today's technology but this camera had me looking to the manual and even Internet a few times. The pictures were too bright from any distance. I tried editing the preferences and tried using all the settings and still the pictures just weren't to par. The last straw for me was that you can not charge this camera from your computer via usb, It does come with the usb cord and an ac adapter you plug the usb cord into and then into the wall. I do not like this feature one bit. I like to be able to plug my camera into my USB on my computer where I am working. Not to a wall where the camera can be knocked off of something (other than my desk). Taking up an extra outlet for a little camera is just useless when my computer has plenty of USB ports open. I will be taking this camera back tomorrow and hope to find one that I am happier with.

I just recently purchased this camera for my girlfriend and she fell in love with it right away, The color was something she just absolutely loved! The big screen on the back and the easy to use buttons on the back made me love the thing. Another thing is, IT SHOOTS 720P! ...not true 720P....but that's what IT says....Anyway....It's a really nice little camera for the price. My girl is not really that tech savvy at all and she picked it up and understood the motions of the camera's operating system in no time. She thought the fact that it used drop down menus to save space on the 3" screen was amazing! Also, the fact that it has so many features: Panoramic, Night, Fireworks, and Back lighting shot just to name a few,...The real Kodak lens is really what makes this camera shine! With a maximum output of 14mp, this thing is a sweet bang for your buck.

I haven't been able see the printed pictures from this camera yet, but there are a few features that I don't like; 1) quick keys on the camera aren't so quick. There is at least 2-3 selections before being able to change settings (e.g. camera to video, auto to timer, regular to macro, etc.) and each are changed in a different manner (menu vs. keys) 2)download feature requires software to be loaded instead of just showing the camera as an external drive 3) naming of the files resets everytime to 1, 2, 3, etc after downloading the pictures. Since I like to drop all files to one folder, this makes it more time consuming (have to rename files so it doesn't write over the others) 4) Movie files are recorded in .mov (apple/quicktime) vs. mpeg (windows/media player) Other than these personal style preferences, it offers all of the standard features and some nice menu items: nice LCD screen, adding keywords, and schneider-kreuznach lens. I paid $79 for it. After having it for some time now, I wouldn't pay over $50 for it in comparison with other cameras out there.

Good Photos - Poor UI setup

Everything you would expect from a 14mp cam, but have a couple of CONS: 1 - won't charge from USB, have to use special wall adapter = poor design. Came from a M575 that I loved which worked fine off USB, and that had a larger battery and was older technology. 2 - battery life is way down from the M575 I had. That cam would shoot 300+ easily, this one does about 100-150 (with flash). Whent eh battery goes dead, see 1 above. 3 - Resets to "automatic" mode every power on = poor design. Instead of holding the last scene type used, it resets every power on, so if you like to sue the scenes like I do, you have to manually set it every single time you turn the thing on. Very annoying. 4 - Tend to obstruct the flash with my finger. It's small size is nice for carrying in a pocket, but with larger male hands you may tend to cover the flash when you use it. A little annoying at times. Otherwise, it's a great camera for the price ($70 on deal of the day online). I wouldn't pay the list price of $150 for it tho for reasons above.

I use point and shoots all the time and I prefer Kodak cameras. I found this for about $80.00. Awesome price! The M575 has 5x optical and a Schneider/Kreuznach lense, not the typical glass aspheric lense. I like the small, light weight in-your-pocket size with a 3" screen. It is very easy to use. I have very good, detailed pictures, even when zooming in on subjects. The only issue I found when taking pictures is when you push down to take the picture, sometimes the picture is blurry because I moved after I centered on the subject. Mostly my fault, but a good tip with point and shoot (auto focuses) is to make sure the camera focuses on subject you want by pressing down halfway or slowly and then take shot. Buy a high speed memory card and cameras will capture the image faster and be ready quicker for the next picture.

I got this camera for Christmas. The easy share button is not easy at all. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I recently was taking pictures and went to hit the view button, and the battery cover popped open. Now I cannot get the battery to stay in place so I have to hold it in to turn the camera on. Some of my pictures would turn out blurry and not sure why. I liked that it had a movie camera with sound. The best thing about easy share is once it uploads to your PC, it asks if you would like to delete, so I always had room on my memory card. The view screen is very big and the delete button is obvious and easy to use. On the camera it also gives you the option to delete one or all of your pictures,

Bought it a few days ago . . . . nothing worked on first try. It would not format the first SD card the I purchased when I got the camera. Back to the store for SD card number two . . . OK that one worked. I had to go on line with Kodak to find out about things not clear in the owners manuel . . . several timesssssssssssss. Ohhhhhhhhh yeah for 14 MP the pic even at the highest setting were less than my old Casio 7.2 MP Camera. Drum roll please . . . . the final deal braker was when the camera locked up . . . the battery was at least at half charge, Nothing wound unfreeze it. I took the thing back this morning. I have purchased other great cameras from Best Buy, this just was not one.

I purchased this to upgrade from my current Kodak 6 mega pixel camera. I was expecting with 14 mega pixels that the image would be crystal clear. Vertical lines had jagged edges on them. A picture of a flower arrangement had no detail. I tried several settings and nothing improved. I went to the Kodak live chat and they suggested that I remove the battery and re-insert it. That did nothing. Then they recommended that I send it in for repairs. It wasn't even 2 hours old. I returned it for a refund, I'll stick to my old one or buy a competitor. I would not recommend this camera, even at half the price.

I had really high hopes for this camera. It works very well under normal, everyday lighting conditions. If you try to photograph action or use the zoom, it's horrible. Every picture I took of my son at his wrestling match turned out blurred even though I had it on the action in bright light setting. The zoom is a joke compared to an older camera I have. If you're in dim light you might as well forget it. No matter which setting I used, flash and no flash, the camera stunk. I'm very disappointed with this camera. Also, that horribly huge Kodak software they try to make you download to view the pictures is the biggest waste of space ever. Don't download it!! Pop the secure digital card in a card viewer to look at your pictures.

Ok, I bought this camera for my mom who is completely unless when it comes to with anything digital or computer related. I set everything up on her computer for her so all she has to do is connect the USB cord and hit the share button on the camera and everything downloads itself! I also put her camera on setting that pretty much adjusts itself for pictures. There are a lot of cool features on this camera but if your not good with camera's could be a little difficult to figure out how to get to them. Also when the lens comes out it is a little noisy. All in all she seems to really like this camera and it seems pretty easy for her to use. For a beginner I do think this is a good camera, and pretty easy to use.

I purchased this Kodak in hopes that it was like my old Kodak EasyShare V550. The old camera wasn't the best but I did really like most of the pics it took. I needed an upgrade and stayed with the same style. I do love how the functions and user friendly controls worked, just like my old one so it was easy to slip into. I tested it out in many situations: indoor, outdoor, fast-action, etc. The pics that came out were not very good. Most came out blurry and not capturing the lighting and colors well. I gave it a few more chances then returned it and got the Canon Powershot S95 instead. I payed a bit more for the Canon but I am MUCH happier with my pics taken by it.

I bought this camera for my 83 yr.old Mother. She loves it. It was easy for her to learn how to use, no problem to take with her, and easy for her to actually use and get great pictures. Not being technically knoweldgable, she had no trouble learning how to use this camera and it took great pictures. It has good battery life, and all the buttons are easily accessible. My only concern is that the Easy Share picture program is loaded in the camera instead of including it on a disc. I would have preferred to have the programs loaded on a disc since that's what she is used to using. Overall, it was a great Christmas gift and Mom is happy!

I bought this camera for its simplicity of operation compared to my old Panasonic. Its 14 megapixel capability provides much better clarity of picture than my 4 megapixel one. Little photo editing is needed after loading into my computer. Only downside is that in order to keep it small for ease of carrying, the buttons aren't as easy to locate and use as I would like. I guess it has to be a trade off. Over all I am very satisfied with this camera, and would recommend it to a friend.

Bought it during the ThxGiving sale and was a good bargain. Regardless of the 14MP tag, the pic quality is still a little more grainier than my (older, Sony) 9MP camera. The biggest flaw is the button to shoot the pic - its not clearly visible and kinda blends with other buttons making it tough to find! The entire console for buttons needs a second look. Features are OK... nothing advanced or fancy... pretty basic. Sometimes the pics come out crystal clear, but most of the times - they look kinda average... Battery life is pretty good... ~ 3 hrs per charge and the best part - you get it with wall charger as well as PC charger.

I bought this camera for work because I need to take lots of pictures of homes and the interior of homes, and specifically bought it for it's zoom and ability to capture photos in panoramic view. To my surprise, no panoramic view option and the zoom's focus is blurry. Sometimes the Regular focus without the zoom is blurry. No bueno. I need my pictures sharp and precise as I need to show those photos to the world. If your looking for a cheap camera that will serve it's purpose, here it is, however if you need great picture quality, this is not the camera for you.

I use this camera mainly to take pictures of friends and family. The picture quality looks great, but the manual isnt very helpful so you really need to toy around with different settings before you find one that is suitable for your own needs. I used to have another Kodak camera and the zoom broke so this was a great replacement at half the cost. I also bought this camera for my little brother for Christmas and the main down fall of this product is the color. It says the camera is red after opening the package it is clearly pink. Not a problem for me but not something a 17 year old boy would appreciate :)

This camera is priced right for the features it has. I had to return the first camera due to a hair on the screen. The second camera is has a problem with the charger. Unfortunately I’m just over 30 days past purchase from Bestbuy so I have to send it back to Kodak. I have mixed emotions about this product. I like the panoramic picture stitching feature but I don’t like issues I’ve had and occasion it has been acting funny with the memory card. I hate when I’m at this point with a device…

Great Camera but Not really Red

I actually bought this camera for my boyfriend for Christmas. I bought it in red because his favorite color is red and he's always wanted a digital camera. I got the camera on sale and from what he says it works wonderfully. It's great and does everything it says it will do, but when you open the package you discover the camera is actually PINK. He says it doesn't bother him, but it bothers me. So if you specifically want a red camera, this is not the camera to buy. It works great though.

This was a good camera for the price. It was bought for my 68 y/o mother who doesn't have the best eye sight. She enjoyed the large view screen and can figure out the buttons more easily than any of the other cameras that we had gotten for her. She doesn't do more than shoot and print so I do not have any comments on the full functionality of the camera. I can say that the picture quality is miles better than older Kodaks that we had in the past several years.

    Poor flash and very slow

If you are just taking still pics and don't need much flash this is a fine camera. I was at my son school program and I took pics with this camera and my phone. My phone pics turned out brighter and more clear. It is also VERY slow in taking pictures. You have to have plenty of time to get the shot which doesn't work if you are trying to take action or sports shots. I am disappointed in this camera and will be buying a different one as soon as possible.
