If you want a date stamp on photos, forget it

Imagine my shock when I downloaded my first set of pictures and found that no date stamp was on the pictures--an absolute must for me. Online manuals do not even discuss how to do this. A chat with a Kodak representative brought forth the information that you can only put a date stamp on photos by going through several steps to reach an edit function which allows the date stamp to be put on only one photo at a time--after the photo is taken. This is a time consuming process and one which I cannot deal with. There is not a function available which allows the date stamp to be automatically put on each photo. This Easy Share Kodak (M583) is a replacement for an earlier model that I lost which had the automatic date stamp function. What a BIG disappoint for me to discover this after purchasing the M583. I am now looking for a REAL digital camera that is not made by Kodak.

I purchased this camera to use in addition to my SLR. I love my big camera but sometimes it's just not practical. I love how small this camera is without sacrificing screen size or picture quality. The color features and program setting work great and the zoom is good. The micro SD card didn't bother me (I read the product details beforehand). I also like the fact that it has a rechargeable battery rather than needing regular batteries. The charge holds for a good amount of time but I went ahead and picked up another battery just in case.

Despite some bad reviews which I put down to user error, I bought this camera and am glad I did. The macro sd card that comes with the camera does work. You have to take it out of the adapter. I can't believe how good my pictures are especially with the zoom lens. It takes great pictures in low light, I found this out by accident. It is easy to use. I can't say enough good things about it. I'm sure the longer I have it I will probably discover some cons, but not yet.

Camera came as a package with a 4GB SD card and a camera bag. Thought this was a great deal since I wouldn't have to buy the SD card for it only to find out that the SD card it came with in the package doesn't even work with this camera. What were you thinking?? It would have been nice to send a card that works with the camera which is the mini version not the regular side card. Had to go spend more money to buy a card. Very disappointed in "the package" being unusable for the camera.

Good camera for families but not for work. Read instruction book a few times or your pic and video will be lost. Super price that can't be beat anywhere on internet.
