This is the King Kong we were awaiting for. No disrespect to Peter Jackson's King Kong movie-it was a great movie, but he made King Kong so small, almost like King Kong's mini-me. This King Kong in Kong Skull Island is massive, like the size of Godzilla. Kong battles many and massive creatures. Also, has a great all-around cast.

KONG SKULL ISLAND is wonderful fun from start to finish, and in 3D, it's spectacular. I enjoyed the new version of the story. The plot was solid, all the actors did a good job, and the film itself was stunning to watch and enjoy. There was never a lull or dull moment. And all the creatures were REALLY BEHEMOTH! What I enjoyed most is this version wasn't juSt a sequel, and a sequel to what? It had heart, depth and a message. I will treasure this film in my KONG collection.

Coming for a traditional Kong-fest? Don't look here! This is a pure popcorn movie, through and through. Great special effects. Corny, at times, one liners. Gets to the action pretty quickly. Decent acting. No Kong falling in love with a pretty girl and getting to battle planes on the top of the Empire State building. Loved the BB multi-pack with both the 3D AND the 4K? My preference? Toss-up. Both versions were done well, and if you have an LG passive 3D set, the 3D conversion is done well, and the reason 3D is still relevant and not a dead technology.

This movie was a good direction for Kong, I believe. It is not the classic Beauty and the Beast story, but a new story to tie it in to the newly created "Monsterverse" with Godzilla. What's important to note is that this movie doesn't have the poetic type of cinematography the 1933 original or the 2005 remake. It's more of a big loud action movie, and that's acceptable. Definitely worth a buy and a watch. And this is rarely the case for me, but the CGI was incredible.

Good movie. You see way more of the monsters but it’s not as suspenseful as Godzilla (2014). The characters, however, are great. Really enjoy them all, I was surprise how much I enjoyed the performances of the supporting cast, they all do a great job. Of course, the stand out here is John C. Reilly – he’s more than just the comic relief, I was really moved by his character. Regarding the effects and the action, it’s worth the price alone just for the incredible visual effects. It requires multiple viewings just to pick up all the subtle details.

First off I love the steel books and this is one of the nicer ones I have purchased. The picture and sound quality are top tier and there are some nice extras as well. As far as the movie go it's good all around. It's a popcorn movie so shut the brain off and enjoy the fantastic special effects and fast pace. The movie clocked in at 2 hours but I actually wished it was a little longer to help out the last 1/3 of the movie. Started a over average for most of it and kind of lost all plausibility the last 1/3z. 7.5 out of 10 for movie itself.

Let's get this out into the open... I am a sucker for a good monster movie. I loved Gareth Edwards' "Godzilla" and his first movie "Monsters." And, had a great time with S. Korea's 2006 entry "The Host." "Kong: Skull Island" is a blast! Great monsters, action, and suspense. The characters were a little sparse, and some of the direction was awkward. But, all in all this one is one helluva thrill ride. Sound and picture quality is excellent. But, extras are sparse.

This is one of the best movies I added to my collection, an alternate version of the original well made with great actors, awesome FX and a lot of action!!! I've seen this movie so many times and still enjoy it like the first time, finally got the 4K Ultra HD Blur-ray version and it's incredible. Great story, good lead in for future movies. You will watch this movie over and over!!!

Another remake of the classic movie. Instead of being able to hang from the Empire State Building, he was made to be just as tall. Kong was made much bigger in order to help establish the giant monster universe, as alluded to in the Easter Egg at the end of the credits. A great remake with excellent visual effects. The indigenous tribe and the climatic fight scenes look outstanding in 4K Ultra if your setup accommodates it. Oh, and beware of spiders too!

I really liked this movie. Special effects were spot on and Kong and company were as big as they should have been. The movie took some time to develop the story line and some relationship building. Definitely not just a big 'monkey' in the jungle show. Good action and some good twists. I gave it 4 stars because it's just not up to competing with the likes of The Accountant or Bridge of Spies. But it's KONG and I loved it for what it was. Great action, great story lines and great relationship building. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is one of the best Kong movies I've ever seen. Best Buy had a limited package that contained the 4K, 3D, and BluRay version. I have a 4K plus 3D Samsung TV and the 3D effects looked great on it. I think that all 4K movies should also contain the 3D version. For years on BluRay movie discs they've been giving a regular CD disc that no one ever used. For 4K movies why not include the 3D version since there are a lot of people who did purchase 3D tvs

Honestly I would have never went and seen this movie if is wasn't for multiple friends telling me i had to see it. So even that being said I watched this movie with high expectations and even with high expectations was still surprised. This movie almost makes up for all the horrible Godzilla and King Kong movies from the past. On a side note if you ever watch the old movies look for a zipper in the back of King Kong and Godzilla costumes its hilarious!

This Best Buy SteelBook edition has both 3D and 4K UHD versions. This movie was put together very well in 3D. I recently purchased a new Samsung 4K UHD blu ray player and I enjoyed in 3D. I think the 4K UHD player up converted the 3D version, because it looked better on the 4K player as opposed to my old blu ray player. This was a great take on the King Kong genre. It has a refreshing storyline. I recommend getting this Best Buy exclusive of Kong!

I love watching 3D movies on my TV. I'm one of the lucky ones that still have a 3D tv. I do want a bigger tv but they don't make 3D tv's anymore. So I'm stuck with it until it dies! An LG 55"!I've had it over 7 years and still playing like new!Only difference you don't get updates anymore. But everything still works!

Good HDR image on the disc. The Atmos is fantastic. The sound separation between people voices on the bottom and King Kong on the top in the Atmos channels is excellent. Overall a Good buy.

Kong is back madman boy is he larger than life! Leave it to a Hollywood studio to try and cash in on it's own "cinematic universe". Both Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island and decent and entertaining movies but there is a nawing feeling in the back of your head while watching either one and it is that they're both missing something. Either way, this fantastic 4K disc and specially it's 3D version of the movie immerse you even further into this world. Let's just hope that when these two behemoths meet, we feel complete.

Okay, I own the last one "King Kong" with Jack Black, and it was pretty good. This is taking place as the Vietnam war is closing and a attack copter Command officer "Samuel L. Jackson" and his group are given a chance to go to Skull Island as Support. This movie will be probable the first in the rebirth of the Toho Studios "Godzilla" and friends rebirth. Lots of action, surprises and monster attacking humans. A party movie for a 14+ group.

The remake of this King Kong version is said to lead up to the confrontation with Godzilla in sometime in the future. Though this story may not directly suggest it but this same director made the last Godzilla remake and had intentions of blending the two if gossip on the matter proves true. This movie was very well done and included a great many well know actors which lent itself as a very interesting version of the well known classic.

Since i already have all the godzilla movies, why not go ahead and add this to my collection since kong stars in one of the godzilla movies anyways? Great addition.

I’m a huge fan of classic monster movies, more over, the giants of cinema. King Kong is on full display and this movie puts the viewer right in the thick of it. The action is fast paced and Kong is brutally effective at dishing out justice. The cast is varied with no shortage of veteran screen presence and the CGI is high quality. It’s a fun movie that entertains. The 4K transfer and HDR make this a definite pick up.
