Huge, weird looking, but GREAT sound!

I wanted to get a pair of good around the ear headphones under $30, my first option were the Sennheiser HD201S. When I went to the store I also found the Koss UR20 for the same price and slightly higher specs, so I bought both to see which were better. After a couple of days of tests I must say these HD201S are a little disappointing, but these Koss are very impressive! As far as sound, the Koss UR20 have great bass and output, sit around the ear, comfortable enough and enough padding to isolate outside noise. As far as quality, these have good construction, solid plastic pieces and great hinge flexibility. On the other hand, the a problem with the UR20 is that they are big compared to the Sennheiser HD201s... Besides the size of the UR20 (4" earcups), I also found a little annoying that there is no lock for the size (they slide back to first position), so you end up always having to adjust them every time you use them. Another annoying thing is the cord which is 8ft, way too long, but I just keep it tied up. Overall, besides the weird huge look and long cord, I picked these over Sony, Sennheiser, Skullcandy among other offered at Best Buy under $30. Sound quality is great, very comfortable and "no questions asked Lifetime Warranty!"

    Awesome Headphones for the price!

If you're like me, looking for the best product in mind for your hard earned money--look no further. I recently tried out several studio headphones, including a $120 pair of Sennheiser's. I was checking online for the best product reviews and couldn't make up my mind on how much was too much to spend for good quality. I'm glad I returned them to get these Koss UR20's because they are hands down the best set of headphones for the money that I've ever owned. Super comfortable with a simple easy-to-adjust length for either side. My only complaint is the side of the headphones the cord comes out (left), since I can't move my PC jack to the same side; however, the cord has plenty of length and the Sennheiser's had the same problem for me anyways. Simply put, these headphones rock! Very good sound clarity including great bass, which seems to be a common problem with cheaper headphones...They also block out background noise surprisingly well, very close to the ability you might expect from over-the-ear noise cancelling headphones, but without the additional cost of noise cancelling technology or the discomfort of over-the-ear vs. studio style. You can't go wrong with these! I'd consider buying another pair as a gift.

    Overall, Fantastic Headphones

I've had these headphone for about 5 months now and they're by far the best headphones I've ever had. Compared to the really cheap earbuds and Apple headphones I've had in the past these are great. The sound quality is really good and it makes even low quality sounds sound great. The bass, especially, really stands out in certain songs now which is great when I really get into listening to a song. Compared to a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, these don't look to good but for the price, these are fantastic. Very easy to adjust to wherever you're ears are comfortable. I would suggest not listening to music too loudly for long periods of time because these can give headaches if used for more then 5-6 hours. I only wish these were more portable or had a case with it so I could take them anywhere!

    Great sound

These headphones were given to me as a gift, so I cannot speak to the price though I gather they were a lot cheaper than I had expected given the high performance that I receive from them. Sound quality is very clear with excellent volume. The noise cancellation is far superior to the cheap headphones I'd purchased in the past. They fit very comfortably around my ears, and even so for my small children. They enjoy these a lot more than my previous headphones (which they "borrowed" all the time!). I did find that I have to re-adjust the fit so they would reach down to my ears at a comfortable level. If removed for a while, they seem to return to the smallest fit possible, which is probably why my kids like them so much! Not a big deal though. They are easily adjusted.

Very Acceptable Headphones for PC and Xbox 360.

I purchased these headphones on Black Friday (Day after Thanksgiving). For ten dollars ($10) and since then, been enjoying clear static-free audio. I still would buy these headphones for the original price thirty dollars ($30). It is worth it, in my own opinion. The headphones are comfortable even after several hours of gaming (5 to 7hrs). Sound is impressive in the games Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360) and BF:BC2 (PC/Xbox 360). The booms/gunfire and hearing enemy footsteps in the distance give me a nice advantage. BF:BC2 is known to have great sound effects and these bad boys handle that very nice. I like to watch HD music videos on Youtube and O-boy does music sound superb. Very satisfied with my KOSS headphones. Beats my old broken $50 headset in audio.

Great headphones for PS Vita / iPad on my couch

I love these headphones. I use my Turtle Beach PX5's a lot more, but these headphones do what I need them to do. I can play my Wii U, PS Vita or even YouTube videos via these headphones. I use the headphones maybe 1-3 times a week, usually when I want to turn OFF the 5.1 living room surround sound (kids sleeping) and still enjoy my PS Vita, Wii U or ipad games loud. For my TV or PS3 #bluray & videogame# listening with headphones = PX5's #love those) This headset is a great deal for the $$$. Sure you can buy a "Beats" headphone, but why spend that much :) I dont use the headphones when I go for a walk with my kids and or dog. I use the new iPhone 5 earbuds, which I love.

    Good Sound but Too Big

I brought this pair of headphones because I needed a second pair to use with my laptop. I have no complaints about the sound quality. In fact, it's very good, you can really hear (and actually feel) the bass on certain songs and it picks up background sounds well. My only issue is the size of the headphones themselves. I did not realize when I brought them they would be so big. I knew they would be on the larger side but they're huge. They are not comfortable at all for me because they pass on my neck area below my ear. I used them for a day, for about 30-45 minutes at a time because that's all I could take. Usually I can wear headphones for 3 hours or more at a time but these were very uncomfortable. My head would hurt after taking them off. So if you have a small head or small ears I wouldn't recommend these headphones.

    Awesome Overall

They are great headphones, they are large but compared to a pair of plain Apple in-ear-headphones these are amazing. They are large to the point that they block outside noise just because of how they are built. I have yet to see how they reproduce songs with lots of bass because I don't listen to many. They are great with rock/alternative music; they make instruments sound amazing and are very clear. Some people have pointed out how the size adjustment doesn't stay well but I have yet to experience that, they are well built. The long cord is very nice, but may get in the way if you are in a super tiny space. Definitely the best $30 I've spent lately.

I saw the reviews for these headphones and thought they would be the best ever. For the price, you can't get anything better or even close. These are big and comfortable for me and blocks out all outside sounds. The sound volume seems a bit low to me but maybe that's because I usually listen very loud in the mornings to compensate for all the sound around me. Great buy though and would recommend for everyone. It also has a long cord but if you want to use it for your tv, it will be perfect but for my ipod I have a bit of cord left over.

Decent sound, but very heavy & bulky!

While the sound quality was pretty good, I ended up returning these because they were so heavy & bulky... much larger & heavier than I thought they would be. Also, after wearing them for any length of time, like a full-length movie, the ear-pieces, and my ears were burning hot... the headphones were putting out a lot of heat, kind of like an AC power block gets hot after some time. Between the weight & making my ears super hot, these were not for me, because they were not comfortable at all, and for me personally, comfort is even more important than sound quality... I'd rather lose a little quality for really good comfort!

Well, for 10 bucks (deal of the day), how can you beat this. I own some very expensive headphones, and although these can;t match the range of my best ones, the occasional MP3 or typical audio file sounds just fine. I didn't expect the range of my legacy Koss Pro4AAA, but was not horribly disappointed. Regardless of some of the negative reviews here, these are NOT that bad, Jeeez, what do you expect for less than $20. have been purchasing Koss since the 60's and have Pro4A, Pro4AA, Pro4AAA, and the new signature Koss. These are not that caliber, but are fine for casual use..

    Good sound, good value

We use these for keyboard practice and watching tv / listening to music. The stereo sound is delivered satisfactorily without tinny or fuzzy distortion. Deep bass and clear treble are as advertised. Earphones rest comfortably and completely over the ears. However even at maxium adjustment, the overall headset fit is a bit too tall and loose for my taste (although the spouse says they fit him fine).

Was skeptical at first, but for the price I paid I'm very happy. I love how the headphones can be used with a normal iPod or MP3 jack, as well as the old-school type of stereo jack by simply adding/removing the tip. What struck me funny was the quality of the sound. With these headphones the bass and other features sound WAY better than with the plain track just playing with no headphones. It felt like I was in a studio; I had to take the headphones out and say, "I don't remember it sounding that good."

Got these to use with my Yamaha DGX640 keyboard. Best buy had them on sale for 9.99 so I thought why not. Surprising sound quality for the price. I'm not sure how well they will hold up over time, but so far so good. Long cord length, 1/4" adapter included, comfortable to wear, and plenty loud with good bass and balance with mids/highs. For $9.99, it is hard not to call these a great value considering they compete in sound quality with $100 sets.

Good sound, but cushions haven't held up

I've had these headphones for a year or so. Over the weekend, I noticed that the plastic covering the foam on the ear cushions was split in several places. Upon closure inspection, it appeared that the plastic was actually breaking down from old age, not from use. It doesn't affect the sound, but I was getting little black pieces of plastic stuck to the sides of my head.

Not too expensive, but too much bass

For the price tag, they are not bad earphones. They are very comfortable and in my experience, muffle/block most outside noise and the sound quality is what I expect from KOSS. That said, the only drawback is there is too much bass and no way to correct it. It's great for music though, but not so much for movies and games, in my opinion. The perfect fit and stylish design are not enough to redeem this product for me.

The sound was suprisingly excellent and they were comfortable but for a large head a little on the short side. While adjusting set for my head I pulled on the cloth band on the inside and it broke without much effort. Best Buy was very gracious about the return. I would recommend that you use the adjusters to expand the head phones. Overall I was quite pleased.

Overall, these headphones are worth the price. I already broke them. I don't know how but they broke. Don't be careless with them or they will break. Other than the possibility of them breaking, I have found no other con to it. Unless you're into style or whatever, then - I guess - they might be too bulky to be wearing around outside. Advice: Don't break them. It's not worth it.

Bought a Yamaha keyboard at Best Buy last year, and got the Yamaha Electronic Drum Unit thrown in for free - deal! Bought 2 sets of these headphones so I can practice at any time without disturbing anyone else. They are good fitting, good sounding headphones, and at $20.00, it was a no-brainer to buy them.
