I ordered these speakers on May 26th, 2012 and just received them today. So far, I'm absolutely amazed by them! I'm an amateur music producer (producing dance, techno, trance, electro, dubstep, dutch, etc, music) and I've had these on my list for a couple months to purchase now. I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and I knew that I was going to be from the very beginning.
First of all, let me say that the low end on these speakers is absolutely amazing! The mids and the highs are great, too, but I didn't expect this much low-end. I mean, wow. These speakers are also extremely well built. They're pretty big, but if you've got the space to fill for them, definitely worth it! The pricing for these is absolutely perfect, $500 for a pair of these babies? That's perfect. Couldn't be any better. They're the best speaker for this price, I think. Right now, I don't think that I'll every spend more than $1,000 for a pair of monitors. Don't need to with KRK in the business. Excellent sounding speakers for the price! If you're looking at purchasing these, it's worth it. If you're also looking at the RP6's, I'd spend the extra $100 for the RP8's. I did. The slogan for these speakers is, "No pain with gain", meaning, that even when the volume is extremely loud, you're not going to get any distortion, and you don't because I've already tested it. To be honest, they sound a lot better when they're at a higher volume.
The bottom line: These speakers are absolutely amazing. KRK's got me hooked, I'll never use any other speaker. Thanks KRK for an amazing speaker! These speakers are definitely worth the $250 a piece. I'll always be a KRK fan and customer!
