I purchased two of these for two different short term rental products. I found out quickly that the WiFi adapter in this lock is garbage. Their WiFi adaptor requires to have line-of-sight to your WiFi router/access point. You can have full strength and be 20 feet from the router, but if it is even slightly out of the line-of-sight this lock will drain the batteries within a few days. They do not mention this in any of the documentation but when you speak with tech support they tell you they won't assist you unless you install the router closer or install WiFi extender. This company knows they have an issue but doesn't disclose it until after you contact their support department who just talks down to you.

I love these locks. I've installed several on various houses. They work very well as long you as spend the time to get things aligned up so there absolutely no drag of any kind. This can often mean re-adjusting the door frame striker plate. I really like the smartkey capability. It makes it easy to re-key all the locks to match and use the same key. The kwikset app can be finicky and a bit confusing to get paired and working at first and getting the keycodes stored in the lock, But after that, it is very easy to use for normal use.

Easy to get in your house if the batteries aren't dead. This eats batteries fast! Sometimes the buttons don't reguster you push them so you have to start over.

I am using this Kwikset Halo SmartLock with Wifi for over a month now. Initially, I was reluctant because there are other brands at higher price points which didn't really get the job done, so this was just a trail. As soon as I got it, BB Totaltech, installed it for me and the Wifi set up was seamless, we tested it and perhaps the most seamless set up ever. I am so happy with this Kwikset Wifi Smart Lock at this price point, already recommended to multiple people and they are purchasing it. If you turn on the LED indicator, my guess is the batteries will last for 4 months atleast and without the LED indicator, definitely longer. The lock and unlock makes noise, you know that its set up and the app is very simple and seamless. Highly recommend, and I should have opted for this sooner.

Great product. Wish I would have installed it years ago. Provides piece of mind with the actual key lock in addition to wifi accessibility.
