    Okay, I read the reviews and bought the lock. Once home, I read the directions and downloaded the Kevo app onto my phone. Once installed, the app said it is not compatible with my phone. Looking harder into why the app won't work, I discover that the app only works with older phones. I have a Note 8, and the newest phone the app works with is a Note 4. Then ... I see in the reviews that a fair amount of people are finding the internal moving parts are plastic (like the gears) and have a short service life. I never even took the lock out of the box, and returned it the next day.

    I moved into my first house and wanted to make it smart. So I bought this lock. Install was easy pairing with my phone was simple. Sending a “key” for my wife to open the door with her phone by herself was easy. It worked great for 3 months. Now it won’t lock unless you manually use the psychical key the door lock comes with. It will not lock when commanded from the app or outside when you tap. It sits there spinning the light and then turns red and just beeps at you. Not pleased.

    Poor Quality

    From the beginning, this was not a good buy. The installation was simple and quick but the app did not work well. It managed to lock me out of my house 3 times and my keys were inside the house. Luckily my wife was there 2 of those 3 times. I set my key up and did not have any issues with the set-up but my key never worked after that. The battery drained constantly because it was always trying to lock(even when it was not needed). We switched to a different brand and love it but something about the Kwikset that we got was not functioning properly.

    LED indicator stopped working after 48 hours. Lock completely failed after 3 months. It will sometimes unlock minutes after locked. Not a trustworthy system and leaves much to be desired. Installation, however, was extremely easy. If you want to use this lock outside of the range of your home, you will need to buy another piece of equipment - the Hub that runs nearly $100. So, you have to pay $200+ for the lock, and then another $100 if you want to use it outside of your home. Go with another product...

    Keep wondering why I will buy something new for this expensive and it won’t work, paid the installer, battled with installation because it just wouldn’t work, called customer service, the agent was nice and promised to send another one since I bought warranty on it, I don’t know what would have happened if I didn’t buy the warranty though.

    Though I love the idea of this lock, it seems to stick a lot and won't connect to my Alexia as promised even after I purchased for an additional $100 for the Kevo Plus that's supposed to allow me to unlock door from another location, so not really happy that after $300 which doesn't include the $230 Echo Show, that I spent a lot of money and very disappointed.

    Cool Idea, Poor Execution

    I love the idea of this lock, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. The touch to unlock was slow and sometimes didn't work without my taking my phone out and holding it near the lock. Out of the box it doesn't have z-wave or wifi or anyway to link it up to your smart home, you have to drop another $100 to get those features.

    Install was easy. It paired with my phone ran through the programming tested it a few times worked fine. Went to work the next morning and lock didn’t work. I had to close app let it establish Bluetooth connectivity before it would lock. Came home that night...same thing. Used the key the next day and returned it for lock with a digital keypad.

In iOS 11 there was a bug that affected communication between the lock and the phone. That bug has been improved in 11.1 and we're hoping for a completed fix in 11.2.     Don't Use With iPhone

    I used this with the my S6 samsung and it worked well. However, when I switched phones to the iPhone, it sucks. It will open the lock when you have the app opened and up on the screen. It won't work if it is in your pocket or purse. It also sucks to try and update the lock with the iPhone.

    I decided to go and give this a try after seeing more good reviews than bad. My conclusion is firmware needs to be updated. Like 1 reviewer states half the time it works and half the time it doesn't . Hope theirs a update coming to resolve this.

    I purchased this item after researching compatibility. I did not find out that the lock was not compatible with my phone until I ran the App. This was surprising since the Android rev level was listed as compatible.

    Perhaps it was due in part to my internet connnection, but this lock did not work consistently. I found myself having to first open the app on my phone and wait for a connection. It's much easier to use my key! I returned it.

    The lock works. The lock works for touch. To get it to work with Alexa, as advertised, you have to purchase a $99 Kēvo Plus application.

    Easy to installed however, it does not work every time. I have to always bring up the App before it unlocks or locks. If i try without having the app open it does nothing.

    I could not connect more than one person at a time in the app. I could not get the two others to connect if I was logged in.

    This lock is super slow to react and Kevo Plus is even slower! App is very buggy too. Stay away!
