Easy Way to Get Forecasts in a Hurry

First of all, I read another review for this product and was very surprised at the person's experience with the weather forecaster. I have to say that my experience has been the complete opposite in terms of performance and quality of the product. Now, I must admit that I have not had the forecaster more than 5 feet from the gateway, so I can't say that at a farther distance it wouldn't have problems, but within close proximity of the gateway, I've had no problems whatsoever. For one thing, the forecast updates multiple times during the day, and I notice the device receiving updates on a consistent basis. Also, the date and time are always accurate, so as far as I can tell, I have had NO problems receiving data from the gateway. Also, the external temperature sensor has worked well, and that device is about 15 feet from the forecaster and outside, and I still have no problems. The only thing that is slightly disappointing about this product is in terms of features. One of the more interesting features offered is the ability to set up three separate audio feeds that can be accessed via a button on the top of the device. However, the options for these feeds are VERY limited. The product website boasts that you can have "news, sports, and entertainment" information via the audio feed, but this is inaccurate. Currently, the only feeds available seem to be from a couple of websites and the information is limited to primarily technology/computer news. At last check there was no "sports or entertainment" options available. Also, the device is a slightly limited on the information displayed. I wish it had wind speed, precipitation chance, and precipitation totals on the LCD display as some of Lacrosse's other models. Even so, all of this information is available through the weather audio feed, so at least the information is available. In any case, if you are looking for a non-subscription weather forecaster, I would definitely give this model some consideration.

worst thing - poor company support - stay away

this is the worst thing i think i have purchased in a while. product is designed to connect to internet via a wireless device that talks to the internet, portable device and outside thermometer. i first had the 3 devices talking. but that was short lived - it lasted about one day. then i had to reset the devices on a daily basis - ie: remove all batteries, and unplug router device. then spend 15 minutes trying to get the devices talking again. they had trouble keeping connected at a distance of 10 feet, on the same floor and in a direct line of site (nothing between them). called for support and emailed weather direct, and they never called back. i left 10 messages and 5 emails. stay far away from this product.

    Confusing and non-functioning

I spent hours trying to make this work, read the manual followed its directions, and never got it to function properly. Customer care was useless. I am taking it back. I could never get the monitor to connect by itself to the internet, I had to do it manually. The Brookfield store left me on hold when I called for help for 15 minutes finally gave that up as well. Just a bad experience overall.

Have had the unit about one month & have had zero problems. I would recommend this unit with no reservations.
