    I bought this drive to use as a Time Machine drive for my Mac Studio M2 Max. It's powered by the USB-C port, so you don't have to plug it in to a powerstrip or wall outlet. It's quiet and responsive. I found that some older portable drives weren't readable by my M2 MacBook Pro, but this drive works with all Apple M-chipped devices. It's easy to format and has worked perfectly. I also have 2 Lacie 10 TB thunderbolt drives that have served me well for almost 3 years so far - Lacie drives have been good to me! Also, this is a quiet drive as well.

    Great Lacie. Keeps everything I need for several computers as backup for old files. It does have issues with my MAC air connecting sometimes. Not sure if it is a Mac Air issue reading the drive or Lacie (leaning towards the Mac not reading sometimes) if I do not connect in a period of time, I have to start over finding a way to make the drive “register” on the laptop again.

    Purchased for a friend who’s data I was recovering. LaCie quality as expected. Very well made, no bloat-ware and nice USB-C cable included. Not super fast but reliability was the key for this purchase. Friend is ecstatic to have her data!

    I couldn’t figure out how to use this and it wasn’t worth it to me simply because I just needed to store a folder with about 400 documents so this wasn’t the right purchase for me

    had to return this, defective, would not take data transfer. also GEEK SQUAD tried & could not help, they suggested returning it ! ☹️
