Good hard drive for computer backups

Works well for Macs. Note- if you’re doing a time machine backup and also want a separate backup of just photos- you’ll need another hard drive. Can’t have both time machine and a separate folder for just folders on the same hard drive as they will over write eachother and destroy both files. I now have one 2TB lacie and this 4TB.

Drive keeps unexpectedly ejecting

Rugged, Easy to Use and Transport

LaCie - "Not So" Rugged

The part of the hard drive that connects to the removeable USB-C cable is cheap, so the cable doesn't stay plugged in. As a result, the hard drive will disconnect even if you barely touch it or the cable and, over a long enough period of time, permanently fail. This hard drive model will lose your data. Rugged it ain't.
