I bought a new HP pavilion windows 10 at Best Buy to replace my 7 year old Dell Laptop Windows 7 I didn't download or read the guide book, just jumped right in with download & preparation for transfer I had an issue downloading the software update, I called the 24/7 help line, the support person remote accessed into my computer, updated software was downloaded, and ALL contents of old computer was transferred The transfer cable was an Ethernet Cable between the two, transfer took bout 2 hours transferring bout 150 gb On my old lap top I was running Office 2003 with an Office 2007 compatibility patch, Office transferred just fine Software was worth every penny I paid for it!

Simple to use and moves all your data and programs. Used to transfer from a Win7 laptop to a new Win10 laptop. Note: programs must be compatible with the OS on the new system that you are moving to.

Program was easy to use, transferred the programs I needed but had to locate and copy some scanner and printer drivers separately. Well worth the price.

Took 5 hours to migrate everything to a new laptop, instead of the 15 hours program estimated. Program worked just as it said it would. Was pretty effortless. Had trouble with a couple programs working on Windows 7 (was on Vista) so had to upgrade them, but, oh well. Leave yourself a couple hours of prep work though, downloading upgrades on windows, eliminating files you really don't need (and thus don't need to move), etc.

After three hours of trying to clone my old drive I had to call tech support. They remotely connected to my computer to configure the program and tried to get me to buy other services. They did get my computer configured to clone my old computer to my new computer. I was however unable to clone the drives because my new computer had two hard drives. The C drive was a solid state and smaller than the old C drive from my old computer. The program is not designed to clone to other than the C drive. Even though the D drive in the new computer was 2 terabytes the program would not clone to it. I have not tried this program to back up files, That portion may or may not work.

This came with an ethernet cable which didn't work for my setup. tried using a universal file transfer cable - also didn't work. Since the Laplink cable was not available locally, had to order it. (Going through the internet was EXCRUCIATINGLY slow as well.) Once I had the Laplink cable, it was a piece of cake to use, and the job was complete in less than 4 hours. The only thing I would change for those who don't have two wireless internet machines is to have the software come with the laplink cable. Had this been the case, it is a 5 star product.

For anyone wanting to get a new Windows computer and wanting to transfer all files from an old one, this product does the job. Unlike Apple devices, Windows computer have no ability to easily transfer data from the old to new computer. PC Mover does this seamlessly and all the programs on the new computer transferred over nicely from the old one.

I've been attempting to utilize PC Mover to migrate progs, settings, etc from a Win 7 PC DAW to a Win 10 PC, built to replace it, since October, 2020 (It's now May, 2021.) Each and every time I've used their software, I received a BSOD - System Exception Not Handled (no driver listed) which never resolves. None of the Win 10 Safe Mode options worked, each sending the machine into a BSOD loop, ad nauseum. I reached out to both Laplink and Microsoft (MS) for support and none of their suggestions helped. I then searched MS support, and others, with little success. I set up for a last try at using their software, only to find that their license flagged as used and was no longer available, despite the fact that I used the same 2 PC's (only) each and every time. I reached out again to Laplink and was told that 1) they would no longer reset the license (they'd had no problem for every prior reattempt), 2) their records showed this license was used for multiple PC's (curious) and they refused any further help as my license was for 1 PC to 1PC, though they'd sell me a new license to replace the one which hadn't worked in the first place. It must be noted that I likely made multiple errors due to my inexperience with Win 10. That's understandable and excusable. Laplink's and Microsoft's minimal and ineffective support and their cavalier attitude towards a customer isn't. I'm now out the cost of the program, a few hundred hours of my time, and my machine is still not usable as intended. I'm bringing it in for Geek Squad's help and will never purchase any Laplink program again.

I used PC mover in the past & it does what it advertises, but be ready for it to take all day if you have a lot of data to move, but it does make a mirror image of your old PC.

PCmover point blank, makes transitioning to a new computer a breeze. This is the second time I've gotten a new computer and purchased PCmover at the same time. It is simply the best way to move your programs, files, and important things from your old computer to your new computer. If it can't be moved, the program shows you that. But most everything transferred easily. Very impressed and will always use this software when a new computer is purchased.

The boxed program had a sticker added saying compatible with Windows 10, but I could not find any details on the web site indicating what to expect with the latest OS. Some programs moved okay, some have had issues. What moved the easiest was files, but that could have been dome across my LAN.

Purchases software to transfer contacts and software from one computer to the other. Software worked really well and was easy to use. It was well worth the money because it made it so easy to be up and running very seamlessly on my new computer. And even transferred almost every single program over not just data

Simple to use. Moved my programs and files from my old computer to my new computer. After I confirmed that everything was moved, I used the erase program to erase the hard drive. I don't have a technical background, but I found it very easy to use. It is for a one time use. That is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

This software is easy to use and should be on the recommended list for anyone who has purchased a second computer, laptop, etc. It is the fast, safe way of making sure that everything from your 'old' computer transfers to the 'new' one. Have used this product many times without any problems. Saves a lot of time not having to actually re-install all of my programs by hand and to make sure all connections are the same.

Used this to move from a five year old system to a new All-in-One. It's advertised as very easy, but there are challenges. PROS: + PCMover did move a lot of stuff (especially data) quite easily--though see below. + Most of the apps transferred easily, with a few caveats. CONS: - BUG IN ESTIMATING SIZE For some reason, PCMover greatly overestimated the amount of data being moved. Since I was transferring a lot of data and apps to a 256GB SSD, it actually refused to move the stuff, saying the target drive was not big enough (it was). I finally figured out that this was a bug and transferred folder-by-folder and I was able to get everything onto the SSD with room to spare. - POOR TECH SUPPORT Tech Support was not helpful. Basically they (I used them a couple of times) simply said I had to get a bigger target drive (I did not) and I ended up figuring out the problem and the fix myself. I also sent in a bug report on the sizing problem but never heard anything back. - APP RECONFIGURATION NEEDED While I did not have to reinstall many of the apps, I did have to reconfigure quite a few. Some of the adjustments were reasonable and expected (like having to re-enter passwords). Others were more complicated such as setting up MS Outlook email accounts. SUMMARY PCMover did make the process somewhat easier than it might have been, though I did spend a LOT of time on the sizing bug and had to try a few different ways to get the stuff transferred. All-in-all, I think it was a wash and I could probably have manually transferred the data and reinstalled the apps in about the same amount of time, with less frustration, and without having to pay for the software. BTW PCMover only works for one single PC-to-PC transfer apparently. I think this is a bit restrictive and I don't think I would buy this package again.

This product worked really well for me when swapping out computers, but I was shocked when the estimated time t go was 96 hours! Fortunately it was only 24 or so, and the job it did was pretty thorough. Still, I wish it had been more definitive about which programs would transfer effectively. I had to delete and reinstall several programs that I thought I would take a chance on...
