Purchases software to transfer contacts and software from one computer to the other. Software worked really well and was easy to use. It was well worth the money because it made it so easy to be up and running very seamlessly on my new computer. And even transferred almost every single program over not just data

Simple to use. Moved my programs and files from my old computer to my new computer. After I confirmed that everything was moved, I used the erase program to erase the hard drive. I don't have a technical background, but I found it very easy to use. It is for a one time use. That is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

This software is easy to use and should be on the recommended list for anyone who has purchased a second computer, laptop, etc. It is the fast, safe way of making sure that everything from your 'old' computer transfers to the 'new' one. Have used this product many times without any problems. Saves a lot of time not having to actually re-install all of my programs by hand and to make sure all connections are the same.

Used this to move from a five year old system to a new All-in-One. It's advertised as very easy, but there are challenges.
PROS:
+ PCMover did move a lot of stuff (especially data) quite easily--though see below.
+ Most of the apps transferred easily, with a few caveats.
CONS:
- BUG IN ESTIMATING SIZE
For some reason, PCMover greatly overestimated the amount of data being moved. Since I was transferring a lot of data and apps to a 256GB SSD, it actually refused to move the stuff, saying the target drive was not big enough (it was). I finally figured out that this was a bug and transferred folder-by-folder and I was able to get everything onto the SSD with room to spare.
- POOR TECH SUPPORT
Tech Support was not helpful. Basically they (I used them a couple of times) simply said I had to get a bigger target drive (I did not) and I ended up figuring out the problem and the fix myself. I also sent in a bug report on the sizing problem but never heard anything back.
- APP RECONFIGURATION NEEDED
While I did not have to reinstall many of the apps, I did have to reconfigure quite a few. Some of the adjustments were reasonable and expected (like having to re-enter passwords). Others were more complicated such as setting up MS Outlook email accounts.
SUMMARY
PCMover did make the process somewhat easier than it might have been, though I did spend a LOT of time on the sizing bug and had to try a few different ways to get the stuff transferred. All-in-all, I think it was a wash and I could probably have manually transferred the data and reinstalled the apps in about the same amount of time, with less frustration, and without having to pay for the software.
BTW PCMover only works for one single PC-to-PC transfer apparently. I think this is a bit restrictive and I don't think I would buy this package again.

This product worked really well for me when swapping out computers, but I was shocked when the estimated time t go was 96 hours! Fortunately it was only 24 or so, and the job it did was pretty thorough. Still, I wish it had been more definitive about which programs would transfer effectively. I had to delete and reinstall several programs that I thought I would take a chance on...

It was useful in that it transferred my my programs from my old computer to my new computer. For thee most part I did not have to find my licence codes ,but I did have to find some of them. I also ended up having orphan files to clean up. IT was worth the money for what it did, but in the future I think I will just load the programs on the new computer myself so I will not have to spend the time cleaning up old/orphan files.

This worked great - used it to copy my old desktop to my new desktop computer. Very easy to use. Did it myself rather than have to bring it somewhere else.

It works but not as well as I hoped. MOST data transferred but not passwords. Not insurmountable but inconvenient. My major objection is that it is a one time use item so it is an expensive one use item.

Went from laptop to tower. Used this program to transfer programs and data. It was very helpful in doing that. Saved days on ITunes alone. However, there isn't an easy way to prevent some programs or data from transferring, e.g. old virus protection.

I'm not an expert on PC transfer kits. I only used this once, since I only had one PC to transfer. Also, I've never used a PC transfer kit before. That being said, once I got it set up it did what the package promised--moved my files and programs from my old Windows XP PC to my new Windows 7 machine.
Installing the program wasn't hard, but it was finicky. I got it to install on the first try, but it did require a number of steps first on one PC and then the other and I had to read the instructions carefully.
The kit comes with an ethernet cable to connect the old PC and the new one directly. Once everything was installed I only had to start the transfer and wait. The transfer took about 8 hours; this may have been due to my old PC being much slower than the new one.
The results were very satisfactory, but they weren't perfect. PCmover transferred my web browser and favorites, but the passwords for many sites didn't make the transition. The same is true for programs that require a serial number for validation. Likely this is due to those sites' and programs' security setup; I don't think this is a flaw in the transfer kit, just something to be aware of.
All in all, PCmover isn't perfect, but it saved me a lot of work and it was worth buying.

It did what it was designed to do, but getting there wasn't exactly an easy process. First, there wasn't a software license key included in the packaging. So went to their online chat, and after 20 minutes or so of "oh, it has to be there somewhere" they finally believed me and generated one for me. Got it installed, and then my computers couldn't find each other on the WIFI. Went to their special chat for transfer problems, and their tech got that fixed and got the transfer started. Then, about 10 minutes into it, got a "network problem" error. Followed the steps, and didn't fix it. So canceled, put both laptops in the same room as the router, and let it run overnight. Same result. Was about to give up and buy one of their USB cables, when I found the option for using an external hard drive. Did that, and it finally ran the way it was supposed to. Was it worth it? Yes, as I HATE having to reconfigure and reinstall all my programs. But not as good as it should have been.

Works as good as it says it will. So easy to use. Was able to bring everything (files, videos, pictures, and APPLICATIONS) from old laptop to new laptop. Very easy set up. Was so happy the applications transferred; especially the very old ones that I no longer had original disks for. Very impressive and good price.

I bought a similar product years ago when I bought my last pc and it worked essentially the same. Initial setup was easy with step by step instructions, but it didn't recognize both computers at first. Second time it worked. Took quite a while to transfer files and settings but I was expecting this. Worth the price.

Purchased to transfer data and programs from an old computer to a newly purchased computer. It did a very good job with data. While it did transfer some programs not all were usable even though the the final report indicated they they transferred. I had connectivity problems using the supplied ethernet cable.

Used this to migrate everything from an old laptop to a new one. It did the job effortlessly. All of my personal settings came over, including the picture for my desktop.
The only drawback is that I wanted to use the cable to do the transfer. However, the cable that came with it was ethernet. The new laptop does not have an ethernet port. Did the transfer via WiFi, which took longer. Via WiFi, I let it run overnight while there was no other traffic on the network.

Easy interface to use, easy to install and operate, the only down side was that it took over 8 hours to do the transfer, and the time to completion estimate at one point did not move in over an hour. But having said that it did what it said i would do, and for that I am grateful so four stars.
